Black Tortoise God of War

Chapter 34

C34 – Chu Yangxiang Slashed the Demonic Wolf Barehanded!

The Red-furred Demonic Wolf gazed at Chu Yangxiang with sheer delight. It had endured days of anxious waiting, and at last, the moment had come.

Chu Yangxiang’s face mirrored the wolf’s joy. He wouldn’t dare confront a pack of Red-furred Demonic Wolves, but now, with only one in front of him—even as a Yellow Rank Demonic Beast—he was resolute and confident in his ability to take it on.

As the Red-furred Demonic Wolf reached the flat ground, it shook its form, and a whirlwind kicked up, swirling dust into the air as it lunged at Chu Yangxiang.

A pungent odor filled the air, carrying with it layers of sand and stone that clattered against the rocks.

Chu Yangxiang’s vision was obscured by the dust, but thankfully, his spiritual awareness from Tianwu relayed every detail directly to his mind.

The Red-furred Demonic Wolf extended its gleaming claws, sharp as if forged from steel, like four daggers aiming straight for Chu Yangxiang’s neck.

Its speed was incredible, a velocity that would leave most Martial Masters unable to evade.

Chu Yangxiang swiftly sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the attack. He countered with a punch aimed at the wolf’s body, but the Red-furred Demonic Wolf shuddered and evaded his fist with raw power.

They sized each other up, eyes heavy with the gravity of the confrontation.

The Red-furred Demonic Wolf had felt the force of Chu Yangxiang’s punch as it dodged, the wind roaring like an unstoppable force capable of shattering stone. The gust tousled its red fur, making the sensation unmistakably clear.

With a piercing howl, the Red-furred Demonic Wolf launched itself at Chu Yangxiang once more.

Chu Yangxiang stood his ground, launching a punch directly at the wolf’s head.

A thudding echo reverberated across the top of Xuanwu as the charging Red-furred Demonic Wolf was knocked back three steps. Chu Yangxiang staggered, retreating eight steps before he finally regained his footing.

In terms of strength, Chu Yangxiang was just a bit less formidable than the wolf.

The eyes of the Red-furred Demonic Wolf gradually filled with a blood-red hue, as if drenched in fresh blood. Its front paws extended, emitting a faint red glow from its claws.

This was an external release of Profound Qi, a power typically wielded by a human Profound Master, known for its devastating lethality.

Chu Yangxiang sensed a scorching heat emanating from the Red-furred Demonic Wolf, surging toward him like a fiery wave.

With a swift lunge, the Red-furred Demonic Wolf unleashed two fiery red energy blasts shaped like wolf claws, hurtling toward Chu Yangxiang at an astonishing speed that took him by surprise.

After evading the attack, Chu Yangxiang heard a thunderous roar as the ground beneath him shook.

At The Top Of Xuanwu, not even a Profound Lord could dislodge a stone, so the ground remained unbroken.

Chu Yangxiang had barely sidestepped when the Red-furred Demonic Wolf’s razor-sharp claws swiped at him once more.

He couldn’t afford to be careless. Activating the Heaven Martial Divine Cultivation Skill, his entire body flushed red, and he exuded a dense, mountainous presence.

Chu Yangxiang launched a punch, colliding with the wolf’s claw that sliced through the air with a piercing whistle.

Without holding anything back, Chu Yangxiang deployed all his martial techniques, engaging in a fierce hand-to-hand combat with the Red-furred Demonic Wolf.

He didn’t flinch or dodge, taking the full brunt of the Red-furred Demonic Wolf’s iron claws.

Yet, the wolf’s Sharp Saber-like claws only left a superficial trace on Chu Yangxiang’s skin.

His iron fist connected with the Red-furred Demonic Wolf, sending it staggering back several steps, howling in agony.

Chu Yangxiang found himself toppled to the ground by the Red-furred Demonic Wolf but quickly scrambled to his feet.

Man and beast clashed in a wild fray.

Demonic Beasts of the same rank were inherently more formidable than Profound Masters, thanks to their robust physiques. A Demonic Wolf the size of an ox was a formidable opponent indeed.

Demonic Beasts are the stuff of nightmares for many Profound Masters.

Chu Yangxiang, with his Martial God Heavenly Technique, Yellow Rank Fist Skill, and Halberd Skill, bravely battled the Demonic Wolf. Impressively, he held his own.

Chu Yangxiang could have easily dodged the attacks, but he was curious to test the limits of his strength. He wanted to see if his Four-star Martial God Heavenly Technique could fully reflect the Red-furred Demonic Wolf’s power back at it, just as he had done in his battle with Chu Guangxiang.

His punch struck the Red-furred Demonic Wolf’s ribs, eliciting a piercing howl from the beast.

Two of the Red-furred Demonic Wolf’s ribs snapped.

However, this was not a fatal wound. Given a few days, the injury would quickly heal.

Never before had the Red-furred Demonic Wolf, a pinnacle among Demonic Beasts, suffered such a significant blow. Its eyes grew even redder, and a faint phantom image emerged from its form.

The Red-furred Demonic Wolf lost all patience for toying with Chu Yangxiang. It unleashed its most devastating strike, intent on slaying him.

The beast lunged, and a streak of red light detached from it. This light took the shape of a wolfish phantom, charging at Chu Yangxiang. In an instant, it morphed into an arrow.

The arrow blazed with intense flames.

The Red-furred Demonic Wolf bared its massive jaws, aiming to clamp down viciously on Chu Yangxiang’s throat.

Chu Yangxiang respected the Demonic Wolf’s cunning. He began with a probing attack, holding back his Heavenly Talent Abilities. Once he gauged his opponent’s capabilities, he combined his lesser Heavenly Talent Abilities with his formidable physical prowess.

Only when he fully understood his opponent’s tactics did he deploy his truly powerful abilities.

An arrow of flame, swift as thunder, appeared before Chu Yangxiang in a flash. He realized that even a Profound Master Four-star might not evade such a potent assault. The creature was sly indeed.

The scorching heat set Chu Yangxiang’s green robe ablaze, and a tumultuous flame engulfed his body.

With a swift shake, Chu Yangxiang evaded the fiery arrow.

The Heaven-martial Godly Tortoise unleashed a jet of water, dousing the flames that enveloped Chu Yangxiang.

As the Red-furred Demonic Wolf lunged at him like an arrow, Chu Yangxiang let out a low roar: “Heaven Smashing Bash.”

Chu Yangxiang shifted his stance. A jagged green shell emerged on his right fist, sharp as a dagger. He thrust his fist forward, causing a thunderous noise.

His punch struck the Red-furred Demonic Wolf squarely on the head.

The Demonic Wolf howled in agony, the sound of its skull cracking filled the air.

Staggering backward, the wolf slipped toward the cliff’s edge.

Its claws clung to the rock face. Chu Yangxiang seized the wolf’s leg, determined to haul the Red-furred Demonic Wolf back up.

Finally, he managed to drag the beast up. The Red-furred Demonic Wolf lunged forward, its jaws snapping at Chu Yangxiang’s throat, seizing the moment with deadly precision.

Its teeth sank into Chu Yangxiang’s throat.

Then, abruptly, a noise echoed—the three fangs of the Red-furred Demonic Wolf tumbled to the ground.

Chu Yangxiang had turned the Heaven Smashing Bash upon his own throat.

His fist connected with the neck of the Red-furred Demonic Wolf. The massive beast was propelled away by Chu Yangxiang’s blow, crashing to the ground.

Chu Yangxiang charged, unleashing a flurry of punches and kicks.

His emerald-green fists, like sculpted jade, pounded the head of the Red-furred Demonic Wolf.

Five successive punches from Chu Yangxiang left the wolf’s coppery head ringing. Eventually, blood seeped from every orifice, leaving not one bone intact in its skull.

The Red-furred Demonic Wolf was slain by Chu Yangxiang’s ferocious and savage onslaught.

At the side, the Heaven-martial Godly Tortoise stood in stunned silence, its heart quaking with shock. It had never anticipated such a turn of events. The wolf’s final desperate pounce had caught even it unawares.

Chu Yangxiang had narrowly escaped death. Had he perished, he would have been forced to endure another hundred thousand years of waiting, another hundred thousand years of interminable time.

“Why must you engage in such perilous games? You nearly lost your life. Do you intend to frighten me to death?”

Initially, when Chu Yangxiang heard Tianwu’s rebuke, he felt a warmth in his heart, understanding that Tianwu meant well. However, he hadn’t anticipated that Tianwu would take such a liking to scolding.

Despite his covetousness for the corpse of the Red-furred Demonic Wolf, and the close call he had experienced, he acknowledged that Tianwu’s criticism was warranted. But there was no need for such an extensive lecture.

“You claimed you could protect me in my most perilous moments, that you could surely turn danger into safety. Yet, here I am, facing peril, and you’re of no help at all. What use are you to me?”

Chu Yangxiang, pointing at Tianwu, declared, “If you’re unwilling to train me, then you might as well leave.”
