DEVIANT

Chapter 339 - 339 Too Bright

339 Too Bright

“Danny Ainsworth, I didn’t think I will get to meet you face for face again. I’m not sure if I lucked out or what?” Dean Hall seemed unmoved by Danny’s presence, instead, he seemed indifferent as if he were speaking to a nobody.

After surviving this long and gaining the blessings of the heavens, he felt no need to be afraid when talking to someone like Danny who is an insignificant character in this life.

“You killed my best friend and you are trying to get rid of my family, you should have known it was only a matter of time before we get to meet” Danny responded casually as he slowly removed his mask, revealing his beautiful face and bright silver eyes.

Buzz!

Danny’s words would be harmless when thrown at anyone else but since it was Dean Hall, the reason was obvious. Dean frowned at his words slightly but didn’t respond quickly. In the past when the big four was still young and standing when he was still a nobody and the big four was only the big three.

Back then the Briggs was famous even before the blue meteor fell and even after it fell their fame grew. After the deviants gained their abilities their fame seemed to weigh as people considered only deviants as threats and everyone believed that only deviants can fight against the mutant beasts of the world but then the Briggs appeared again after a year.

With sheer strength and skill,l with the aid of new and improved Demon-kin secret technique, they dominated the world for a long time.

The Ainsworths were always at the top because of their scientific breakthroughs and inventions. The arrival of the blue Comets made them even more famous as they just gained more working materials

Finally, the Walkers have always been a well-known billionaire family. The arrival of the blue meteor was like a blessing as a good number of their properties appreciated after the blue meteor infected everything. Lands acquired in large quantities in the past became a blessing as they became filled with the most wanted resources at the time. Using their wealth, they quickly took charge of the available deviants to protect their properties.

.....

Unlike them, there was no Hall family. In fact, the Hall family has always been just a name and not a family.

It all started with Dean Hall and his circle of friends born in a poor neighborhood. They were destined to die poor and on the streets until the blue meteor came. Unlike the rest that had an advantage, he clawed his way to the top. Gaining the recognition of the world only after killing many while making others swear loyalty to him.

Only after creating a huge family of solely specialist deviants did the world recognize him and even then they still considered him inferior to the other big three families.

What else did the world want from him?

Has he not done enough?

So why do they speak of him as if he had the same advantages the other members of the big four had?

The world has never appreciated him and because of that he resented it but then the high Gods came and promised him a more meaningful life. A life where he will be recorded as the first man on earth as he will be graced with the chance to start a new cycle of rebirth and repopulation of the earth.

Like hell will he let anyone ruin it!

“If it were in the past when we were still mere mortals I would have been scared of you. As the leader of the tyrant gang, you were a very formidable person but even then I wasn’t afraid of you. With the gift I was given, I have become even stronger. Even now, you are still not my opponent!” Dean Hall said coldly but Danny chuckled as he casually took off his jacket and loosened his tie.

“The thing is Alex and Silver were so bright that they failed to notice the peerless experts around them… Your forces will not be making a move as we have already made preparations. The culture should be dealing with the God set as we speak. When this is all over, the rebellion will die out. All that is left is for me to take your life” Danny responded casually while rolling his sleeves and unbuttoning his shirt a bit.

The complete display of confidence was infuriating for Dean as he failed to understand why a nameless character in his story would dare utter such blasphemy.

“You!” His eyes chilled as veins popped up around his head but Danny wasn’t moved.

“Your mutation once granted you the ability to gain access to the powers of your subordinates. The new gods came and gave you the power to steal them. And so you have collected all the powers you consider useful for the past five years… But do you know something like this has happened before but much earlier?” Danny asked with a calm voice as he pulled out a pair of silver gloves from his back pocket and began putting them on.

Buzzz!

Meanwhile, his words sent shivers down Dean’s spine as he looked up and frowned. The main reason for his confidence was this ability. He lost most of his powers when the Hall Family’s God set turned on him with most of the family members. After the High Gods blessed him, he began collecting all the abilities he had lost and even more one after the other. With their blessing, his strength was at the King level like Alex and Silver, with his numerous abilities so he felt invincible amongst those of his level, talk less of those below.

But thinking about it now, Danny had a more interesting backstory. Just like Danny said, Alex and Silver shone so bright, everyone instinctively ignored those around them and forgot how formidable they are.

“While you started accumulating deviant abilities five years ago, I have been doing mine for over thirty years now. While you clawed your way up the level of the big four of the United States of America, I became an international criminal that could openly challenge the entire world” Danny said.
