Douluo Dalu 3: The Legend of the Dragon King

Chapter 1900: Die, Ghost Emperor!

Chapter 1900: Die, Ghost Emperor!

Yali appraised Ghost Emperor with a mocking sneer, and said, "I told you I was going to avenge Brother Ming today! Die, Ghost Emperor!"

Scorching white flames rose up once again, and on this occasion, the flames were even weaker than last time, but Ghost Emperor had also been significantly weakened during the last two clashes.

Thus, Ghost Emperor was completely inundated by the white flames again as everyone looked on with dumbstruck expressions, and bloodcurdling howls rang out across the entire battlefield.

A single Holy Spirit Douluo wasn't enough to bring down Ghost Emperor, but what about three? Despite Ghost Emperor's clear power advantage, there was no chance for him to evade in this tiny grid, and three bouts of the immense purifying power created through Yali's self-sacrifice was too much for him to bear in the end.

On this occasion, the white flames only burned for several seconds before fading away, and Ghost Emperor's body and soul had been completely eradicated with not even a single trace left.

The grid that they were situated in shattered, and a speck of green light suddenly flew toward Tang Wulin, who reflexively caught it, upon which he was immediately struck by a familiar aura.

The speck of green light was none other than a leaf from the secondary tree of life.

"Mother," Tang Wulin cried in a trembling voice.

"Don't be sad, silly boy. This left contains my soul; adhere it to the Divine Atlas Spear, and I'll finally be able to reunite with Brother Ming. I've already avenged him, so I'm satisfied; I'll leave the rest to you."

In the end, Yali had still perished in battle, but her soul hadn't been destroyed through her self-sacrificial burning as Ghost Emperor had expected.

Yali had carried this leaf into battle, and it had ensured that her soul remained intact, which was why she was able to resurrect herself twice. In reality, she had already enclosed her soul into the leaf, but she had hidden this very well, and Ghost Emperor failed to notice.

However, a person's life force was limited, and after igniting her own body and battle armor for the first time, her death was already inevitable. Even though she was able to resurrect herself, those were only temporary resurrections performed in order to unleash further attacks. If Ghost Emperor had been burned to death the first time, then the body that Yali had reforged for herself would've disintegrated shortly thereafter anyway.

In the end, she had successfully taken down an enemy more powerful than herself, using the constraints of the Nine Palace Grids to her advantage to kill Ghost Emperor and successfully avenge Yun Ming.

This had always been her greatest wish, and it was finally complete.

Thus, two more Limit Douluos perished, further highlighting the cruel and unforgiving nature of battle.

Tang Wulin was trembling, and his lips were tightly pursed as he held back his own tears.

As the representative of the human army, he had to be strong. He had known from the very beginning that the enemy was too powerful for all of the powerful beings of the human army to defeat them without suffering any casualties, but knowing was one thing, and accepting was an entirely different matter, especially when he was forced to accept the death of someone so close to him.

Thus far, the three Limit Douluos among the human camp had fallen, namely Guan Yue, Dong Zi'an, and Yali.

Even as Yali perished, the other eight battles were still ongoing.

At the same time as Yali's grid was shattered, another grid also disintegrated, and a reddish-golden figure emerged, releasing scorching blood essence fluctuations as he did so. This figure was none other than A'Ruheng, and the fact that he had emerged meant that his opponent, Dark Bell, had to have already perished.

Dark Bell was only a Hyper Douluo, and she had no chance against A'Ruheng's Invincible Vajra Body.

The Nine Palace Grids had split up the combatants, but it had also severely restricted the space available to them, thereby making battles conclude more quickly.

A'Ruheng had completely disregarded her attacks, barreling straight through them as he unleashed an almighty assault on Dark Bell.

In the end, Dark Bell was reduced to dust under A'Ruheng's devastating fists.

Unfortunately, even though his battle had concluded, A'Ruheng was unable to help any of his allies and could only wait outside the other grids.

Shortly thereafter, two more grids shattered, and Yuanen Zhentian emerged alongside Yuanen Tiandang.

Both of them had been facing weaker abyssal emperors, and with their four-word battle armor and Divine Titan Fists, their opponents had stood no chance.

Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Spear had already arrived on the scene, and the abyssal energy of the two abyssal emperors was quickly devoured, resulting in the collapse of two more abyssal levels.

Thus, four out of nine battles had already concluded, and it could be said that the human camp had gained an absolute advantage. If it weren't for Yali's death, this would've been very much worthy of celebration, but as things were now, no one could muster up the urge to celebrate.

The remaining five battles were extremely intense, and everyone's attention was drawn to the grid shared by the Sage Sovereign and Lan Muzi.

The other four pairings were Qianggu Dieting and Harosha, Qiangu Dongfeng and Dark Blood Demon, Tong Yu and another abyssal emperor, and Wu Zhangkong another abyssal sovereign.

The battles between Qiangu Dieting and Harosha, and Dark Blood Demon and Qiangu Dongfeng, were quite evenly matched.

Qiangu Dongfeng was missing an arm, but he was a more seasoned Limit Douluo, and Dark Blood Demon had already expended a lot of energy in his battle against Zang Xin earlier, so neither side was able to gain the upper hand for now.

Meanwhile, Tong Yu had already gained a decisive advantage, and victory was only a matter of time. As for Wu Zhangkong, he was also evenly matched against his abyssal sovereign opponent. The only battle that was looking quite battle for the human camp was the one between Lan Muzi and the Sage Sovereign.

The Nine Palace Grids was essentially the domain of the Sage Sovereign, and no one was more familiar with it than him. Thus, he had decided virtually all of the pairings in the Nine Palace Grids. His control wasn't 100% effective, but at the very least, he was able to guarantee control over his own opponent, and he naturally chose the weakest member of the human camp.

Lan Muzi had always kept a low profile in the inner court, yet even before Tang Wulin had become a student at Shrek Academy, Lan Muzi was already one of the candidates to become the next Sea God's Pavilion Master.

He wasn't able to make rapid breakthroughs like Tang Wulin, but he had still been making steady progress this entire time, and everyone in the inner court could attest to his hard work and consistency.

His Yang Wood Saber had once crushed a powerful being of the Spirit Pagoda, but his current opponent was simply far too formidable.

The Sage Sovereign was ranked fifth among the 10 abyssal sovereigns, and even though his raw combat prowess was quite lackluster among the sovereigns, he was the most proficient when it came to control.

Don't forget that he had earned himself the fifth rank despite the fact that he had no brethren!

The Spirit Sovereign and the Sage Sovereign were the Holy Lord's right-hand man and left-hand man, respectively, and in the wake of the Spirit Sovereign's passing, it could be said that the Sage Sovereign was now the commander of the abyssal army.

The ones that had always been in contact with the Holy Spirit Cult from the abyssal plane were actually none other than the Sage Sovereign and the Sage Sovereign, and the Sage Sovereign was actually the one to propose these three matches. Of course, he had proposed this on behalf of the Holy Lord, and the entire human army was oblivious to this.
