Chapter 194: – When Have I Ever Cheated You
Before he could finish speaking, Qin Youxuan had already run over, pushing open the partition forcefully.

“Dan Hanjie…”

Dan Hanjie had been changed into a white hospital gown, his handsome face somewhat pale from excessive blood loss.

He was lying quietly on the hospital bed, his enchanting eyes tightly closed. Devoid of their usual charm, they seemed more gentle now.

His perfectly chiseled features were flawless from every angle.

“Miss Qin, rest assured. The bullet in Mr. Jie’s abdomen did not hit any vital parts. It’s just that the bullet was coated with poison. Excessive blood loss coupled with poisoning has caused him to faint,”

“Poisoned…”

A flash appeared in Qin Youxuan’s eyes as she gazed at Dan Hanjie’s abdominal wound.

That shot was taken for her.

Layers of white gauze wrapped around his sturdy waist. The already treated wound was still seeping a bit of blood.

“Mr. Jie!” Yao exclaimed with joy.

The doctor next to him quickly sprang into action, preparing for a new round of consultation.

Dan Hanjie lazily opened his eyes. He wasn’t surprised at all to see Yao in front of him.

His bewitching eyes flickered, fixed on Qin Youxuan’s stunned face.

“Blood. So much blood!” Qin Youxuan’s eyes tensed as she held her head, anxiously retreating backwards.

One after another, gruesome faces seemed to float in front of her, endlessly circling her.

Everything was a sea of blood red…

The scene left everyone shocked, unable to comprehend why Qin Youxuan, who seemed fine just moments ago, suddenly spiralled out of control.

“Restrain her and inject her with sedatives!” Dan Hanjie, without a moment’s hesitation, ordered in a hoarse voice as he propped himself up on the edge of the bed.

“Don’t catch me… I don’t want to go to prison…” Qin Youxuan was terrified and scurried to the corner. She was quickly held against the wall and started to scream at the approaching doctor.

“Everybody stop! Don’t scare her!” Dan Hanjie suddenly yelled, getting up from the bed.

“Mr. Jie, your bullet was just removed. At this time, it’s crucial not to disturb your wound…”

“Shut up!” Dan Hanjie barked, pressing a hand to his abdomen. He waved away the people around him and started walking towards Qin Youxuan, who was huddled in the corner.

“I’m here; nobody is going to send you to jail,” Dan Hanjie squinted slightly and extended a hand towards Qin Youxuan.

Qin Youxuan stared at the hand reaching out to her. She blinked and her eyes were filled with fear.

“I told you before – you did well. Don’t be afraid. Come here…” Dan Hanjie took two steps forward, and when he saw she didn’t respond, he got closer, taking her small hand into his.

“Dan Hanjie, I… I killed someone…” Qin Youxuan trembled, but before she could retract her hand, he pulled her forcefully into his arms.

Chin resting on top of her head, he reassured her, “I know, I know everything. It’s alright now. Everything is okay.”

Dan Hanjie’s powerful hand caressed her terrified face, soothing her with a soft voice.

He was glad. In such a situation, she could still recognize him, trust him…

“Will I… Will I go to jail?” Qin Youxuan glanced fearfully at the doctors surrounding them. There were so many people around her.

Qin Youxuan held onto Dan Hanjie’s waist tightly. Seeing more blood seeping from Dan Hanjie’s abdominal wound, Yao was anxious but didn’t dare to come over.

“No,” Dan Hanjie affirmed firmly, his eyebrows furrowed.

“Really not?”

“Hmm,” Dan Hanjie nodded. When he saw her still looking doubtful, he curved his lips slightly, “When have I ever lied to you?”
