“No way,” Gu Junzhu said sternly, “Calling my father grandfather and me brother? Who would she be trying to disgust?”

Ye Xingbei thought to herself, she’s trying to disgust me!

Although Sheng Ruolan seemed gentle and weak, her seemingly harmless nature deceived others, Ye Xingbei’s intuition told her that this girl was not as simple as she seemed.

Seeing Gu Junzhu’s stern countenance, Senior Master Gu gave him a stern gaze, “Don’t scare RuoLan with your antics from outside, Lanlan is delicate and timid, speak nicely.”

“I’m just naturally like this, you know it, Dad,” Gu Junzhu sat back next to Ye Xingbei, “If she’s timid, it’s better not to stay here, my house has strict rules, I’m afraid she can’t handle it considering how delicate she is.”

“Then you should be more tolerant,” Senior Master Gu pleaded, “Lanlan is a pitiful child, you should be more patient with her and take care of her.”

Gu Junzhu looked at Senior Master Gu for a moment, then suddenly called out, “Xiao Chi.”

“Yes, young master!” Gu Chi walked in quickly, bowing in respect.

Gu Junzhu pointed at Sheng Ruolan, “Take her out for a walk or something.”

“Yes, young master!” Gu Chi made a gesture towards Sheng Ruolan, “After you.”

Sheng Ruolan seemed reluctant and looked at Senior Master Gu.

Senior Master Gu nodded at her, “Go ahead.”

Sheng Ruolan had no choice but to stand up and follow Gu Chi out.

Only when the two were far away did Senior Master Gu say to Gu Junzhu, “All right, you’ve sent her out, say what you have to say.”

Gu Junzhu held Ye Xingbei’s hand and raised an eyebrow at Senior Master Gu, “Dad, do you think Beibei and I are close?”

Senior Master Gu looked at Gu Junzhu, then at Ye Xingbei, and with more appreciation, and, happily nodded, “Yes!”

“Yes?” Gu Junzhu laughed, “You think we’re close, yet you bring us a third wheel?”

Senior Master Gu froze for a moment before steeling his face, “Nonsense! Lanlan is just a child!”

“A child?” Gu Junzhu asked, “How old?”

Senior Master Gu said, “Lanlan is only nineteen this year, just of age, don’t read too much into it.”

“Beibei is twenty-one this year, just two years older than her,” said Gu Junzhu, “And didn’t you personally say that we should help her find a good home?”

Senior Master Gu was at a loss for words, and finally said, “That’s her grandfather’s wish, and it doesn’t mean she has to find one now. She could also wait a few more years.”

Gu Junzhu asked, “Then why doesn’t she call Beibei and I uncle and auntie, instead insisting on calling us brother and sister?”

Senior Master Gu said, “You are about her age, she’s shy, so it’s hard for her to call you uncle and auntie. Where’s the harm in that?”

“No,” Gu Junzhu said blandly, “I think, she has indecent thoughts about me!”

He’d seen his fair share of women who admire him, and with just one look, he could guess what Sheng Ruolan was thinking.

Senior Master Gu stared in disbelief, unable to resist rebuking, “You stinky boy, do you think you’re made of gold that everyone wants you? You’re already married, how could Lanlan harbour any indecent thoughts about you? Why are you becoming more narcissistic?”

Despite the inappropriate timing, Ye Xingbei almost burst out laughing.

Senior Master Gu was really too amusing!

However, now was not the time to enjoy the spectacle.

She too should fulfill her duties.
