In the forest, Ning Yechen held Luo Hongye, gradually fell from the air, and landed on their bottom.

“Yeye, be good. Don’t cry. I promise your mother will be fine. I will never leave your mother behind.” Ning Yechen felt distressed watching Luo Hongye cry. He reached his hand out to wipe the tears from her cheek and comforted her gently.

A cold, murderous look swept across his eyes!

After making his daughter cry, those intruders could forget about leaving alive!

“Do you mean it, Daddy?” Luo Hongye stopped crying and asked with a serious look on her face.

Ning Yechen smiled and nodded. “How could I lie to you?”

“Then let’s quickly go find Mommy,” Luo Hongye said expectantly.

The moment she finished her sentence, a powerful voice suddenly sounded from the forest. “Where do you think you’re going?”

Wu Kuang walked out of the dark forest and slowly approached Luo Hongye and Ning Yechen with a mocking expression.

He trained his eyes on Luo Hongye and smiled with all his teeth showing. “I just knew Old Ghost wanted to try and secretly steal the credit! Fortunately, I was careful and followed him. It all worked as planned!”

Wu Kuang raised his head and let out a laugh. Then he reached his hand out to Ning Yechen disdainly. “Boy, obediently hand her over. I promise to give you a quick death.”

Luo Hongye shrank into Ning Yechen’s arms and looked up meekly at him.

She seemed afraid that Ning Yechen would really ditch her and give her to this burly baddie.

Ning Yechen noticed Luo Hongye’s fear. He smiled gently, stroked her head, and whispered comfortingly, “Yeye, close your eyes and cover your ears, okay? Let me show you a magic trick.”

“Uh-huh.” Luo Hongye looked puzzled, but she closed her eyes obediently and covered her ears with her small hands.

“Good girl.” Ning Yechen smiled. He looked at Wu Kuang coldly as though he were already a dead man.

For some reason, Wu Kuang felt a chill run down his spine, and terror surged in his heart!

He could not remember the last time he felt fear. But a mortal without cultivation succeeded in making him feel this way.

Impossible! This was absolutely impossible!

His pride would not allow this!

He had to slaughter the man before him! “You are nothing. How dare you look at me that way? You’re asking for it!”

Wu Kuang bent his knees, and his body bounced like a spring, leaving only an afterimage behind. He instantly appeared before Ning Yechen and attacked Ning Yechen with his iron-like fist, sweeping away the wind in its wake.

This punch was enough to blow Ning Yechen’s head to a pulp!

After a loud bang, the scene of Ning Yechen’s brain blowing to a pulp did not happen.

His overwhelming punch was effortlessly stopped by a slender hand.

Wu Kuang was stunned, his eyes overwhelmed by disbelief!

Wu Kuang instantly melted and disappeared. He let out an excruciating scream!

Ning Yechen was worried that Wu Kuang’s screams would scare Luo Hongye, so he created a sound barrier to contain him.

The entire process took mere seconds before Wu Kuang disappeared from the face of the world without even leaving any ashes behind.

When Ning Yechen let go of Luo Hongye’s ears, she looked around curiously, but Wu Kuang was no longer around.

She raised her head and asked Ning Yechen curiously, “Daddy, where is the baddie?”

Ning Yechen smiled. “I cast a magic spell to make the baddie go away.”

The moment Luo Hongye heard this, her eyes lit up, and she looked at Ning Yechen with admiration. “Daddy is awesome!”

Ning Yechen knelt down, put down Luo Hongye, and held her hand. “Yeye, don’t tell anyone that I can cast magic to make baddies disappear, okay?"

“Not even Mommy?” Luo Hongye tilted her head quizzically.

“Yep, including your mother.” Ning Yechen nodded.

Luo Hongye’s face looked puzzled. “Why can’t we tell Mommy?”

“Erm… Because I want to have a secret with you alone! This is our little secret. Since it’s a secret, we can’t tell anyone.” Ning Yechen paused briefly before making up an excuse.

When Luo Hongye heard this, her puzzlement disappeared, and a smile appeared on her face. “It’s our little secret then! I get it. I won’t tell Mommy or anyone else.”

“Good girl~” Ning Yechen praised Luo Hongye and rubbed her cheek.

Sure enough, children were easy to coax.

“Yeye, be good and wait here, okay? I’m going to help Mommy fight baddies. I’ll be right back.” Ning Yechen brought Luo Hongye to a tree, put her down, and cast a formation around her.

Luo Hongye nodded obediently and said in concern, “Be careful, Daddy.”

Ning Yechen gave her a confident and comforting smile. “Yeye, don’t worry. No one is your father’s match!”
