Chapter 23 – Koneko and The Art of Intimidation

As I was sneaking out of the girls' locker room, the system notifications popped up for me.

My system had a lot more features than it seemed.

'Can I officially have a harem? Will I get benefits and abilities? I haven't even completed the first mission yet.' I thought and took a deep breath.

My heart felt relieved after everything that happened in the ladies' room. I hid in an alley between two buildings near the locker room. I needed to breathe a little and was relieved.

The idea of having a wife seemed almost surreal at this point, but the system never lied. However, as the system warned, the risks were high. I had to be careful.

I slowly stood up, still leaning against the wall, and stretched my tense muscles. I looked around, making sure the whole area was empty.

With one last look, I decided it was time to leave.

Just as I was about to leave, I heard a noise behind me. When I turned around, I saw Koneko Toujou. Her golden eyes were fixed on me, and her eyelids were positioned in the center of her eyes, as if she was judging me.

"Koneko..." I mumbled, trying to smile, but my smile was weak.

"Leonard, what were you doing in the girls' locker room with Akeno?" She asked, looking at me with her usual indifference and seriousness.

"Did she see me?" I thought and quickly replied. "I was just... checking to see if Akeno was okay. Yes, that's it. She seemed a little... stressed after the game."

Koneko raised an eyebrow, obviously not convinced. "And you thought the girls' locker room was the right place for that?"

I looked away. "Well, not exactly. It was an impulsive decision. I was worried and... I didn't think it through."

She narrowed her eyes. I felt like a judge. "Is Akeno okay?"

"Yes, she is. We talked for a while and she said she was just frustrated that she couldn't be more useful to Rias."

Koneko stared at me for a few moments before nodding slightly and partially turning away. "Akeno is very demanding of herself. But next time, try to be less impulsive, Leonard. And if I see you in the women's locker room again, I'll finish you off." She raised her right fist.

Koneko was small, but she had enormous strength and didn't seem to be joking.

"You got it. I'll be more careful."

She turned and started to walk away, but stopped and looked over her shoulder. "And Leonard... watch what you're doing. I don't want anyone to get heartbroken."

Koneko knew about me and Akeno, and that last line made it clear.

She had practically caught us the last time, in the room of the Occult Research Club. So I couldn't even answer her.

"Thank you for your concern, Koneko."

She just nodded and continued on her way.

A part of me knew that this wouldn't be the last time I had to explain my actions to Koneko. The system, with all its promises of romance, also brought with it the responsibility of maintaining those relationships, and that part was sure to get more complicated.

When I entered my classroom, I sat down in my usual seat.

The teacher hadn't arrived yet, and the students were chatting animatedly. I looked around, trying to appear as normal as possible. It was strange to think that just a few minutes ago a girl had sucked my dick in the ladies' room, and just remembering that made me horny.

Soon, the teacher came in and the class started. I tried to concentrate on what he was saying, but my mind kept wandering.

The rest of the day was uneventful. As usual, Akeno didn't go to class.

When the lessons finally ended, I met Asia in the corridors and we went to the Occult Research Club room together.

Kiba was sitting on one of the leather couches, reading a book with a serious expression on his face. Koneko was on the other one, playing with her relative.

"You are early today," Kiba commented, closing the book and putting it aside.

"No matter which game is chosen as the tiebreaker, we have to prepare," I replied.

"Your determination is interesting."

"Thank you, Kiba. But I'm not interested in men."

He smiled and nodded, then said nothing more.

"So, does anyone know what the game will be this time?" Asia asked.

Koneko shrugged and picked up a candy from the table. "Rias and Akeno are discussing it with the council right now."

Suddenly, the door opened again. Rias Gremory entered the room, closely followed by Akeno Himejima.

Everyone in the room straightened up, and Rias walked over to her desk, while Akeno closed the door behind him and took his place next to Rias.

All of us, Rias' servants, stood in front of her desk.

"As you know, the student council has challenged us to a game that will decide who gets to go to the Forest of Familiars in this full moon, and the game chosen for the tie-breaker is the dodgeball game."

Dodgeball was a simple physical and strategic game that required speed, precision, and teamwork. It made sense that it would be the tie-breaker.

"This won't be a simple game. The student council is also very strong," Rias continued.

"It's good that we're all warmed up." Akeno added.

So we changed into the club's locker room and went to one of Kuoh Academy's indoor courts.

"You can start with some stretches," Rias said. "Kiba, please show me how you're going to throw."

Just then, Akeno and Asia approached me. They both wanted to be my partner for the stretches, and Koneko seemed to realize that. Then Koneko grabbed my wrist and pulled me away from them, squeezing my wrist tightly.

"Ow! Ow! It's okay, I'll go with you!"

Akeno looked at that, put a hand to her face and a smile appeared on her face. "Arara~ Is Koneko in the game too?"

"Miss Akeno, can I be your partner?" Asia asked. She was still a little intimidated when talking to Rias and Akeno.
