Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2210 Vault Battle 4

Chapter 2210  Vault Battle 4

Emery watched in awe as Lord Hassa commanded a dozen powerful golden golems to attack the grand magus traitor. Twelve advanced puppets rushed in, attacking from all sides. Through VIA, Emery could see that each golem had over 1000 battle power, giving them strength and defensive capabilities comparable to a grand magus. Their movements were swift and coordinated, each golem targeting Isaiah with precise strikes.

"HUH! These things cannot stop me!" Isaiah sneered.

With a wave of his hand, he controlled some of the daggers flying around his created domain. The daggers sliced through the air with deadly accuracy, shattering each golem that charged at him. However, just like other summons, Lord Hassa reconstructed them from the wreckage within seconds. The golden fragments reassembled with a shimmering glow, ready to attack again.

Emery's eyes darted around the battlefield. Behind him, Grand Magus Nafey was locked in a fierce struggle with the summoner. The spirit chain that restrained him glowed with malevolent energy, but Nafey fought back with sheer willpower. His spirit clashed with the summoners in a battle of mental and magical prowess, both of them standing rigid, unable to move physically but engaged in a deadly duel.

Unfortunately, the summoned creatures were still forming. The corpses of 20 magus, reanimated by the summoner's dark magic, joined the fray, further restraining the two arriving grand magus.

However, with his divine sense, Emery could tell that the most crucial situation was the tier 9 spell that covered the area. Hundreds of daggers flew around the vault, creating a deadly barrier that burdened the three grand magus, making their fight even more challenging. The only reason Emery could survive was because he was currently inside the cosmic golden palace created by Lord Hassa. The golden barriers protected him from the deadly daggers, but he knew that stepping out would expose him to Isaiah's terrifying spell once again.

"What should I do?" Emery muttered to himself, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on him.

Emery couldn't stay still. Despite Lord Hassa's advantage through multiple high-grade artifacts, he was facing a middle-stage three cosmos magus—Isaiah, a figure two levels higher than him. The outcome of their battle was still uncertain, and with the pirate battle taking place in orbit, Emery doubted that any other Karat reinforcements would arrive soon.

Emery observed the battlefield intently. Isaiah's daggers moved with a life of their own, swirling and slicing through the air with deadly precision. The cosmic energy that fueled them made them nearly unstoppable. Each time a dagger struck, it left behind a trail of destruction, cutting through anything in its path. The shimmering blades reflected the chaotic energy of the battlefield, creating a disorienting and dangerous environment.

To actually help affect the stalemate, Emery could either assist Grand Magus Nafey or support the two grand magus at the entrance and find a solution to escape with Tessa. Battling the three cosmos grand magus, Isaiah, was not an option. Seeing the power Isaiah unleashed, Emery knew he could probably only last a few strikes.

As he weighed his options, Emery saw Lord Hassa take another artifact from its secure display, breaking the pillars that held the item. It was an arm-sized metal capsule, and it flew right in front of Tessa.

Seeing the artifact, Tessa turned to Emery with a surprised expression before turning to her father. "Father... What about him? You must...!"

Before she could finish her sentence, Emery saw Tessa's body being pulled into the artifact. The metal capsule began to glow with a pulsating light, shaking violently as if charged with immense energy. A distortion of space formed around it, warping the air with a shimmering haze. The capsule's metal surface hummed, and in an instant, it vanished from sight, leaving behind a ripple in the fabric of space. Emery quickly realized it was an incredibly powerful artifact, one designed to facilitate escape despite the numerous seals restraining any space magic within the room.

Surprisingly, Lord Hassa spoke, his voice carrying a mix of urgency and calm. "That device could actually hold two persons… Do you understand my intention?"

Emery nodded, meeting Lord Hassa's gaze. He understood. Lord Hassa was showing his intention not to abandon his men while recognizing Emery's strength and implicitly requesting his help in this dire situation.

The fact was, with his Khaos Gate ability, Emery didn't need such a device to leave; he could escape at any moment. However, this was an invaluable opportunity to gain favor with the Karat faction, to solidify an alliance, and to prove his worth. He took a deep breath, steeling himself for the battle ahead. "I understand," With determination, Emery unleashed his strength once again and charged toward the grand magus summoner. The man was currently locked in a spirit battle, presenting a perfect opportunity to land a critical blow. Emery just needed to break through the dozens of summoned creatures surrounding him.

"HOWLLL!!"

With overwhelming strength, Emery blasted through multiple skeletal creatures, his claws tearing them apart with ease. He split a giant apart, sending fragments flying, before finally reaching his target.

Isaiah's deadly daggers, flying menacingly around, were blocked by the grand magus Nafey's ability, allowing Emery a clear path. The spirit master assists in creating this crucial opportunity.

Unfortunately, just as Emery's claws were about to strike the grand magus in the cape, the massive scythe moved on its own, swinging its deadly blade at him with blinding speed.

Emery tried his best to dodge, but the blade still managed to carve a deep wound into his chest. Blood poured from the gash, and pain seared through his body. It was clear that the tier 7 scythe was not just any weapon; it was filled with a powerful soul, granting it a consciousness of its own to guard its master. The scythe seemed almost alive, its blade gleaming with a deadly intent.

There were a few ways to deal with such artifacts: one was using his own sword to parry, or a spirit reading to restrain its power just like what Grand Magus Nayef did. However, in his primal form, Emery's options were limited.

Realizing the support given by the spirit master was limited, Emery charged forward more fiercely than ever, his claws clashing with the scythe. Ruthlessly, Emery let the blade strike his body, even cutting one of his arms. Ignoring the searing pain, he leaped forward and struck the summoner with his other claw, piercing his chest.

"SPLLATT!!!"

"You!!! half blood bastard!!... ARRGHH!!!

The grand magus summoner's scream twisted into an ominous, shrieking voice as Emery watched in horror. Before his eyes, the summoner's body underwent a grotesque transformation, flesh and bones erupting in a chaotic surge that grew to monstrous proportions, towering towards the vault's ceiling.

Emery's [Spirit Devour] ability surged forth, the innate skill of his star-devoured beast form manifesting its power. However, to his dismay, the grand magus's cosmic energy proved more formidable than he had anticipated.

"Retreat!!"

Emery's instincts screamed, but his claws were ensnared, gripped as if by sharp teeth embedded in the summoner's chest.

"Die!!" The man's voice boomed ominously.

With a sickening sound, sharp bones erupted from the summoner's flesh, each piercing Emery's primal form relentlessly. The onslaught showed no mercy, each strike aimed to rend his body with overwhelming strength.

"AARGHHH!!!"

The pain was unbearable, shooting through Emery's entire being like searing hot daggers. He gritted his teeth against the agony, knowing that any lapse in concentration would mean being torn to shreds. Despite reaching the peak of his immortal gate, the surging Khaos power coursing through his veins, and the primal form that had boosted his battle power close to 2000, his opponent wielded an unfathomable strength that surpassed his own. Each bone-like projection dug deeper into his primal form, threatening to overwhelm even his formidable defenses.

Realization dawned on him—his previous actions were reckless, overconfident, relying too heavily on his battle power.

Grand Magus's opponents indeed were on a different level, one he could not just simply charge into recklessly.

Survival now depended solely on his relentless devouring ability. Yet, as excruciating pain surged through his body, draining his strength with each passing moment, Emery felt his consciousness slipping away, threatened by the relentless assault.

At that critical moment, a voice echoed in Emery's mind.

<I thought you were so great already, but you're still that stupid kid I found twenty years ago>

It was the voice of Killgragah, the Khaos guardian, with his usual mocking tone. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

To Emery's astonishment, powerful dark flames surged forth from a forcefully opened Khaos space. Morgana, manifesting her authority as Khaos champion, emerges of her own will to aid Emery in his dire moment. The dark Khaos flames effectively engulfed the monstrous flesh and bones, their intensity burning with a fury that sapped the strength from the creature.

With his opponent weakened by the searing flames, Emery channels every ounce of his remaining strength into the devouring process. x x
