Chapter 5977: Not Safe
Chapter 5977: Not Safe
Furious Wind Saber King and the elders wanted to rush into the shrine to take a look at their ancestral weapons.
Alas, the flood tiger prevented any rash action. They exchanged glances and inched closer, thinking about sneaking in.
“Don’t blame me for anything that happens next, including self-destruction.” Edge Mountain Crone warned them again.
This woke some up and caused them to retreat again.
“Oh, I don’t have any silly idea.” Furious Wind smiled wryly and said: “I want to stand guard too, wouldn’t want any thieves to get in.”
He felt awkward and angry, having zero control over their territory. The seemingly-sleeping dog raised its head to stare at them, further dispelling them from concocting another plan.
“What is the young noble doing inside?” The first elder remained relatively calm.
“Probably stealing your spear and sword.” The old demon glared at him.
The group’s expression soured upon hearing this.
“Impossible, a mortal can’t wield our ancestral weapons.” Furious Wind snorted.
“That’s right, even if he somehow finds their actual location, he can’t unlock the eternal seals.” An elder added.
Since no one had been able to find the weapons after all these years, they must be extremely well-hidden and protected. A mortal stood no chance of fulfilling either requirement.
“So confident in your foolishness. Ask yourself this, why did the weapons wait until today to show themselves?” She snorted.
They became frightened and stared at the entrance again. Her logic was sound - was this just a coincidence or did the mortal open the secret treasury?
“The young noble won’t take your weapons because he cares not for them.” Incense Daoist spoke.
“You!” One elder took this as an insult since even Grand Emperors coveted their weapons.
“Rumble!” Someone appeared on the horizon.
Eight treasures hovered around him and their auras engulfed the area. Inhabitants and members of Insane Gate immediately retreated.
“Fellow Daoists, I’m paying a visit.” A thunderous voice frightened listeners.
“Eight-treasure Monarch.” Edge Mountain Crone gazed upward.
“He’s here too?” Furious Wind and the elders didn’t like this development.
“So early, we haven’t started the conference yet.” Furious Wind had a bad feeling about this.
“It’s the weapons’ visual phenomena.” The elder said.
“Fellow Daoist, am I not welcome here?” Eight-treasure Monarch landed near Li Shrine.
He came to this place first instead of the main location for the sect; his intention was all too clear.
Furious Wind and the elders prepared themselves for a battle.
“Boom!” They activated their vitality and power.
“Fellow Daoist, we apologize for the lack of reception.” The king said.
“Many more will come.” Incense Daoist shook his head after seeing this.
“The weapons are at the divine level, it won’t just be the eight lineages, Ancient Step and others in Splendor will come as well.” The old demon said.
By this point, Eight-treasure Monarch stood before the shrine; the group was too late to stop him.
He looked overweight with a round physique. He could roll on the ground and cause violent shakes. His robe pulsed with a magnificent light while eight treasures floated behind him - a pagoda, gem, cauldron...
Their auras gathered together and rushed forward like a tsunami.
He was the sect master of Eight-treasure Gate, another member of the ancient alliance. His power exceeded his peers and could be equal to Edge Mountain Crone.
Most importantly, Eight-treasure was the current strongest sect in the alliance. Although Insane Gate seemed to be on the rise, it still had a long way to go.
“Long time no see, gentlemen. Senior, you’re here as well.” He greeted the crowd and was surprised to see the old demon who nodded in response.
“We have four sects here today, must be a celebration?” He glanced at Incense Daoist before focusing on the shrine.
“No, the seniors are only visiting our sect.” The first elder said, wanting to take him to the main branch instead.
“This is my first time here, the place for Virtuous King’s retirement, right? May I go in to take a look?” Eight-treasure laughed and said.
“No need for that, there’s nothing to see here.” The first elder came over and pulled his arm.
“Fellow Daoists, we of the ancient alliance are one. Is there anything I shouldn’t see in there?” Eight-treasure’s tone became serious.
“No, but you’re not welcome here and will not take one step inside.” The old demon said.
Her lack of civility disturbed the monarch.
“Senior, does your Resting Bull Mountain wish to monopolize Insane Spear?” He barked back.
