Chapter 6085: This Ghost Doesn’t Make Any Sense
“Armament might be worth taking a look.” Li Qiye said.
“If there’s nothing in Armament, we can open Ghost Monarch Temple then.” Fog Emissary said.
“The chances aren’t high in Armament?” Six-style asked.
“I don’t think so or I would have known. However, that ghost will have information on it.” Fog Emissary said.
“Let’s go.” Li Qiye said.
“Allow me to be of use, I will summon Armament Temple.” Fog Emissary hurriedly said.
“So the emissaries can summon ghost temples?” This was news to Six-style.
She thought obsession was the requirement. This was the reason why Money Temple appeared so often - the majority of visitors wanted ghost coins.
“Emissaries are naturally cooler than other ghosts.” He smiled.
“Can you summon any ghost and temple then?” She inquired.
“Not quite, I can’t summon the other emissaries, I have to hire them. All five sigils have to be there to summon Ghost Monarch Temple too.” He said.
“Summon Armament.” Li Qiye ordered.
“No problem.” He acknowledged and started chanting something unknown, a different style than a cultivation mantra.
“Heed my summon, Armament Temple!” After finishing the chant, he shouted and formed a mudra before slamming it into the ground.
“Rumble!” A temple emerged within a deep ravine, releasing a blinding golden glow. This attracted everyone’s attention since the temple resembled a peerless treasure.
The entire major ghost market was covered in this light, making everyone feel as if great treasures were appearing.
“Armament Temple.” Emperors and desolate gods became excited.
Many started rushing in the right direction immediately.
“Armament is exactly what I’m looking for. Winning aside, just one exchange is enough!” An ancestor shouted.
“Echoes from strong thoughts, I finally summoned it!” A big shot roared, thinking he was the one.
“There’s no chance I’m missing this!” Others dropped their current task and focused on Armament.
“Sir, Armament is before you, the rest will be simple once you come in.” Fog Emissary smiled.
“What about you, we paid all those ghost coins just for this?” Six-style said.
“Miss, please don’t be hasty to judge, hiring me was definitely worth it.” He said: “I had time earlier and asked around about potential survivors of the battle.”
“Another who had left the battlefield might be the third party, but a person or a ghost is the real question.” Li Qiye said while looking at the pendant.
“Well...” He mused: “A ghost’s involvement shouldn’t be possible given the rules.”
“You’re suspicious when taking the rules into account too. If you came after the battle, then you weren’t subjected to these rules. What were you doing then?” She was direct and stated her suspicion.
“Your logic is sound. Since Sir is researching the battle, so am I. I know I was around during the time of the battle, but I became a ghost emissary afterward.” He said.
“Are you sure your memories are fuzzy or simply wish to not speak the truth?” She pressed onward.
“I’m curious about the answer too. If I had become a ghost after the battle, then I shouldn’t remember anything about the battle yet this pendant is invoking something.” He said: “This is a strange feeling, I have the impression that I was already a ghost before the battle. It’s my memory.”
“People can go crazy, I suppose ghosts can as well?” She said. There were holes and contradictions in his statements but he didn’t seem to be lying.
“You’re related to the battle, that’s for sure, but it’s unclear whether you were a person or a ghost.” Li Qiye said.
“I was a participant?” When Li Qiye confirmed it, something flashed in his mind and made it more confusing.
“Go, continue searching if you want.” Li Qiye said.
“I’m leaving.” He regained his wits and disappeared.
“Young Noble, this ghost doesn’t make any sense.” Six-style commented as politely as she could instead of calling him a liar.
“At the very least, he doesn’t dare to fool me. It’s just that he’s confused about a few things. His memory might not be his, and perhaps this was the case in his past life.” Li Qiye said.
“I don’t quite get it.” She said.
“Well, there might be a ghost among the progenitors’ group.” Li Qiye said.
“And that’s the traitor?” She asked.
“Uncertain, but I can take it a step further and speculate that there were two ghosts involved.” Li Qiye continued while looking at the pendant.
“Two ghosts?” She was surprised to hear this given everything they had heard so far regarding the battle.
