Chapter 56 Warlock
Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.
An old rusty chain strained under the great weight that held the narrow cage inside which the young man was. He was unconscious, but it only took him a few minutes to come to his senses and open his eyes.
"Argh... What a headache..." Zayne muttered, holding the back of his head and rubbing his neck.
"Hah, looks like you're awake now. I admit it happened faster than I expected, but it doesn't affect anything anyway." The man in the long, dark robe said, his eyes were hidden, and only an evil smirk was visible.
Zayne looked around and his eyes went wide with shock. He was caged like a slave and his hands were cuffed with steel handcuffs. Around him were several other cages containing young girls, each so terrified they dared not make a sound.
In the center of the room was a massive red magic circle, divided into two sections. On one was the sign of a bloody sword, and on the other were three drops.
"What is this place... and what the hell is going on here?" Zayne frowned as he was immediately going to get out of the cage, but when he wanted to summon his sword, he realized it was impossible.
"Isn't that what you're looking for?" The man smirked, showing Zayne his ring clasped between two fingers, "If I'm not mistaken, it's the ring of the leader of the Black Wing, Hugo, Free Whistle, isn't it?"
Zayne's eyes went wide as he got goosebumps. Zayne tried to open his inventory since he had somehow managed without his ring before.
'Shit... It's empty... All my stuff is in the ring, and in another situation, it's impossible to open the normal inventory...' Zayne said inwardly, accepting the fact that all his stuff was taken from him.
"Well, let it lie here for now." The man put the ring on the table and lifted his hood, revealing his face.
"My name is Nydan, those birds that brought you here are my familiars, and obviously you were here for a reason." Nydan smirked. Nydan had thick purple hair slicked back and predatory green eyes that held the captured girls in awe.
"I don't know what you want from me, but I have nothing, and neither do these girls. Maybe you should just let us go." Zayne said bravely, knowing that help was supposed to be coming soon.
Nydan smirked, "Damn, for someone with such a dangerous aura you sound very naive. Do you think I kidnapped you all to let you go after a single request? I assure you, these girls have been begging me to let them go, so much so that some of them have already gone hoarse. Aren't they?"
Nydan looked at one of the girls. Her cage was slightly different from the others because this one was not rusty. The girl had long red hair, ruby eyes, and pale, delicate skin, however, a frightened look kept her beauty from revealing itself.
"Hahaha, don't take your eyes off me, if I wanted to I could examine every detail of your body, however, you're all here for another reason." Nydan said with a devious smirk on his face.
Step. Step. Step.
At the same moment, quiet footsteps were heard from one aisle as three silhouettes emerged from it, carrying an immobile man behind them.
Zayne was surprised as the man was one of the bandits he had seen near the Dry Tree, a regular member of the Black Wing. The three silhouettes placed the man on the right side of the magic circle, on the bloody sword sign, then one of them approached Nydan, it was a girl with brown hair.
"Mr. Nydan, we did what you asked. Can we have our reward now?" The girl asked confidently with a stern look.
Nydan looked at her, then shifted his gaze to Zayne and back to her.
"You Travelers are rather odd. One is overly greedy, the other is naive, though he's already got a creepy aura." Nydan muttered quietly, causing the three silhouettes to turn their attention to Zayne.
Their eyes went wide as they obviously saw the video of Zayne fighting, and witnessed several mass announcements of which he was the cause.
'What... So they're players? Why the hell are they helping this weirdo instead of going to town? I don't know about them, but this warlock looks too suspicious to get anything out of his hands.' Zayne said inwardly with a frown.
"How is that possible...?" The girl muttered with a dazed expression, "Zayne Fellen, it's you... it's definitely you."
pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ "What is he doing here?" Her mate asked in confusion.
"Hehehe, it looks like you two know each other. That makes it all the more interesting." Nydan chuckled as he waved his hand, "What about your reward..."
"Yeah?" The girl turned around with glowing eyes of anticipation.
Crackle.
Nydan squeezed her neck sharply with his long fingers, letting her breathe with difficulty, "You want your reward, right? You greedy bitch! Didn't you already get a valuable treasure from me? All of you!!!"
Nydan pulled on a necklace with a purple stone that was hanging around the girl's neck, the same as her mates.
Two guys were standing behind her, but they didn't dare attack Nydan to help her, they were too scared as his voice alone gave them the creeps.
"Agh... Okay, I think that's enough." Nydan let the girl go, "You'll get part of the reward when I'm done."
"Just part...?" The girl asked with a slight fear in her voice.
'Wow, even though she's serving this bastard, she seems content to be brave. Those two seem ready to faint at any moment.' Zayne pondered.
Nydan answered nothing, he stepped forward, roughly pushing the girl aside. He walked over to the bandit who lay unconscious on the floor and took a deep breath.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
At the same moment, Nydan's aura increased several times as his robe began to tremble due to the powerful pressure.
"Tell me, do you think I'm an idiot? Since otherwise, I don't understand how even in your tiny brain the idea of asking me for a full reward could have occurred!!!" Nydan exclaimed furiously as a massive purple orb of flame appeared in his hand.
Whoooooooooooosh.
The flaming orb headed towards one guy, collapsing on him and knocking him to the end of the cave with mighty bursts of energy.
"ARGH!!!" The guy cried out in pain as blood gushed from his mouth and his back reached the wall.
"Agh... What a bunch of idiots who piss me off. You better get rid of that weakling or they'll drag you down." Nydan said carelessly with a glance at the guy who was struggling to breathe.
The girl said nothing, he just gulped and thanked fate to herself that Nydan chose not to attack her.
"I ordered you to bring me someone with a powerful blood aura, so you decided an ordinary bandit would be enough, didn't you?" Nydan said absolutely calmly, "It's a simple bandit, he doesn't even have a distinctive mark on his forehead, so you caught a fish, and you're asking for a reward like a shark. What's more, you're lucky that Zayne killed their leader who was nothing but a whale."
The girl looked in surprise at Zayne, who had been watching Nydan's actions intently the whole time.
