Chapter 55: Fight sea
All of them, except for Litha, who has spent her energy, picked a spot and attacked from there.
Cele gestured, and her Codex glowed like molten lava above her; the midnight lit up with red light, and from her two raised hands, fire rained down, she didn't control it and let it come out in a wave of red hot.
The surface of the sea below her boiled and hissed. Awakeners who didn't have any shielding powers caught fire and jumped into the hot sea; wooden ships cracked as the fire ate into them, and even the section of their ship that she was standing on was melting.
On the other side, Temur was releasing two arrows per heartbeat. His aura quickly soaked into the arrow and made it streak in the sky as he released it, howling with force as it split the wind.
Ships shattered and skulls broke like watermelons as arrows rained down. It was as if five people were firing at once. His shots hit home with terrifying accuracy.
Temur watched calmly as some Awakeners raised their hands in retaliation, but he was on high ground; the wind favored him and his arrows were faster, and the sea was quickly stained with red.
Meanwhile, Dile has gone berserk. Literally. That was his power. His white fur was now red, and a hazy red aura surrounded him; he grinned like a maniac and laughed. "It's time! Time!
Time!"
What made Dile terrifying and why Thayer recruited him was that he kept his rationality during his berserk mode. His eyes glinted with intelligence. He raised his two hands, his claws extended, and he scratched the air.
Ten red arcs that thrummed with destructive energy flashed out and cut down anything in their path with jagged slices. Dile smiled when he saw body parts fly up in the air. He raised his hands again. "Let's see how much I can cut."
Tim was fighting as if he was playing with toys. He would get hold of any parts of a ship with his telekinesis power and then flip it, overturning it.
He'll then add a mix of his stone bullets, both big and small, smashing ships and cracking bones. "I think I'm enjoying this more than I should." But he couldn't keep the satisfied smile on his face.
Jael was the one in front of the ship and he was quickly spent his storage of stored bones. His bones surrounded him, held up by the green flames of unholy magic.

Some of the bones are sharpened and thinned like needles, and he used those directly on the flesh; mostly, they are for paralyzing, but one of such needle bones stood out because of its black color. "I must have bought this, but I can't remember from which monster it came from."
"Let's find out!" He sent it into the raised hand of an Awakener who sent a bolt of burning energy earlier and he quickly fed the black bone with unholy magic.
The last magic in the black bone released but instead of an explosion, it injected poison inside the Awakener who screamed as his body was melted from the inside.
Jael grimaced, he didn't want to fight the monster where the black bone came from. The fight continued; the continued threat had made the enemy Awakeners were confused and easily taken down.
And then his eyes zoomed on a particular ship, the Awakeners there were all sitting calmly as if they weren't affected by what was happening but what caught Jael's attention was the beastman that stood among them.
"I know you." Jael said in surprise as he lifted his transformed hand and sent bolt of unholy magic into a ship. "That's the beastman that wanted to make me into his slave. So he's here too."
Their eyes met over the sea and the beastman's eyes shone with hatred. Jael looked at him unflinching. "That's right...run."
Just then, their warship suddenly glowed green and then jerked, ramming into broken ships as they started to speed over the waters, retreating from the wreckage they just caused.
A hand came out of nowhere and slammed Jael on the back, almost sending him tumbling into the sea. "Temur!" He rubbed his back, shaking his head at the big guy.
Temur laughed. "We won! Ah! Do you see the look on their face? They totally weren't expecting us to appear from the side like some sea monsters!"
Jael scowled but he couldn't keep the smile from his face either. "It was fun and risky, if they were given the chance to recover then we would have doomed ourselves! I'm surprised Litha came up with such plans."
She shrugged, she didn't smile but Litha's eyes glinted with it. "They would have catch up with us one way or the other. It's better that we provide how and when we clash."
"I can't disagree with that." Cele said.
The ghost captain coughed, getting their attention. "Who's going to pay for my melted ship?"
"Why don't we hold up from that? We will have to fight from here on. Better to eliminate what we can now before we reach the beach! So captain! Make your calculations then!" Temur shouted.
And it was as he said. It didn't take long for another set of ships to start hounding them, they had formed together like the previous ones and just like before, they would suddenly appear behind them even when they increase their speed.
Temur proposed they used the last strategy for the new ones and they did but things didn't turn out like it did before. These Awakeners are veteran and they responded quickly to the surprise attack and the team found themselves under heavy fire.
Temur called for retreat and they quickly ran while the smaller ships chased them. So they came up with quick and less efficient plans that relied on Tim.
They would let the smaller ships close the distance between them and then snipe them off with Tim's stone. And on and on they went, fighting their way over the sea.
