Chapter 45 Introductory Video
Chapter 45 Introductory Video
Jason walked out of his room dressed in a simple grey T-shirt and grey shorts, but his hair was still dripping wet as he walked into the living room area and grabbed the TV remote before jumping onto the couch.
He pressed the red button to turn on the TV and closed his eyes to wait for the TV to come on while savoring the cool feeling of the water soaked up by the hair on his head.
The TV screen lit up a few seconds later and with a glance, Jason already determined that he wouldn't have to change the channel as it was already on the sports channel so he put the remote back on the dresser.
After seeing that the match hadn't begun yet, Jason pulled out his phone just in time to see a message notification appear on the screen.
{Hey} Sophia had texted.
Jason quickly swiped open his phone and began texting back,
{Hey, what's up?}
He had barely pressed send when a file with the file extension '.jpeg' flew in from her end.
Not yet having opened the file, Jason texted back,
{Don't you think it's still a little too early for you to be sending me jpegs?}
{Jpegs? What's that?} Sofia texted back with a confused emoji, but before Jason could explain another message came flying in from Sofia who had just understood what Jason meant by 'jpegs'.
{You dirty-minded hooligan}
{Why would I send you that? (╬▔皿▔)╯} Sofia texted furiously
{Yeah, why would you send me that already?} Jason texted back before going to open the file only to see a picture of himself.
It seemed to have been taken earlier in the day when he was signing the contract for the Porto side and it seemed to have been taken when he wasn't aware of it.
'All that posing for the camera only to pick the picture that they had taken when I was unaware,' Jason thought to himself with a wry smile, not even knowing whether to be annoyed or not.
{Oh… I didn't expect news about it to be out already} Jason finally texted back to Sofia after seeing the picture that was part of an article about him joining the Porto senior team.
'One match youth league sensation signs for FC Porto's senior team, huh?' he thought back to the title of the article.
{Well it is on the FC Porto's website already, I saw it when I went to check the lineups for our match against Vitoria de Guimares} Sofia replied.
{Oh…} Jason texted back while nodding his head in understanding.
{Anyway, congratulations} Sofia texted.
{Enough about me, how was your day?} Jason changed the conversation topic.
{Well, my day was…}
They continued chatting and completely forgot about the match they both previously had plans to play and didn't realize that they had missed the game until the notifications about the game's scoreline appeared on their phone screens.
But even then, they just swiped it away almost unconsciously only to get back to whatever nonsense they were talking about, as there was no way what they were talking about for more than two hours would benefit the world in any way, yet it was something they were both enjoying while becoming even more comfortable with each other.

***23rd January 2020***
Jason and Vitor Bruno, one of the two FC Porto senior team's assistant coaches walked towards the club's publicity department for Jason's appointment with them today.
Jason had arrived just a few minutes earlier and had met Vitor waiting for him as even though he had gone on a tour of the Estadio do Dragao just the day before, it would still be quite discourteous to leave Jason to his devices just a day after joining the club, so Vitor had been instructed by Sergio Conceicao to help Jason with anything that needed to be done in the stadium for that day, hence their current situation.
Soon enough they had arrived at the publicity department to meet with the person in charge of the publicity department, Livio Ferreira.
On reaching there, Jason heard that there would be a change in plans and instead of doing a small interview, they would be doing a short video instead.
This was because the publicity manager had decided to put Jason's highlights at the Familicao U-19 game to use in a bid to create an impact when introducing Jason to the club's fanbase rather than just doing a simple interview that would end up being typed out and wasn't even a video.
Livio Ferreira was someone who would rather do something exciting than a boring typed-out interview that almost no one but the die-hard fans who happened to be free enough at the moment to read the whole thing.
Luckily for him, Jason happened to have enough clips to put together an impactful and interesting, yet short enough video that would interest whoever watched it a little bit at least… so why not? Livio Ferreira had thought and had changed the original plan for Jason's initial introduction to the club's fans.
Of course, he had asked for the permission of Sergio Conceicao, the club's head manager, for what he was about to do and had received the go-ahead.
All Jason had to do was put on the prepared jersey that had his name and number on it and do a few motions in front of the camera and the publicity department would do the rest.
'Easy, right?' Jason had thought, but he had changed his method of thinking when he had changed his poses and acted out more than ten scenes, each more annoying than the last.
He had been made to hold the ball and say different things and had changed how he held the ball more than ten times at the instructions of the person in charge of the video-making, yet even that had not been enough and he had been made to juggle the ball, do all sorts of tricks, yet the videographer didn't seem to have found the right scene to go along with the video.
It was only more than an hour later that he had finally been set free after the videographer was satisfied.
At this point, Jason couldn't wait to run away and heaved a sigh of relief after being told that that was all he had to do for the day and he could leave.
He would be joining the team the day after as they weren't back yet and were entitled to a day of rest after their match, so there would be no training for the senior team that day, so he had the day free, but Jason already planned to spend the day training anyway.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
