Chapter 57: Cassey Or Cassandra
Kyle stayed with Collins for an hour or so, watching the construction of his multipurpose nightclub; if this went well, he could have Ella perform here.
Kyle knew this place would be a success because he planned to run it with no profit in mind, this meant that the prices would be marginally cheaper than his competitors.
There was no way that people wouldn't hop on any opportunity to save money so there was no reason to do more than needed.
He wasn't going to run it at a complete loss and this mode of operation would be for the first year only. After that, he would raise the prices but he would have an established customer base by then.
"Well Collins, I have to go. It looks like my project is in good hands," Kyle said.
Collins caught a glimpse of his car and wondered why he chose to use an Uber if he had such a sweet ride.
"Sure thing boss man! We will have it done in no time," Collins reassured him.
"I expect nothing less," Kyle responded with a smile before excusing himself. chapter-hosted-on-MVLeMpYr
He walked to his car but before leaving, he knew he had to confirm with Cassandra if they were still on with their plans for the day.
Kyle wanted to text her but decided to instead give her a call, she had a baby but there was no reason why she couldn't hire a babysitter to look after her kid.
She wasn't going to be gone for long and if she had a husband then there was no reason why he should still be home and not at work.
Kyle called her and it took only three rings for her to pick up like she was waiting for the call.
"Hello Cassey?" Kyle began the conversation.
[[Cassey here, how're you Kyle?]] Cassandra asked.
"I'm good but I will be better once I have my morning coffee…" Kyle responded, putting emphasis on coffee.
[[About that… I don't think I will be able to make it.]] Cassandra responded but Kyle didn't feel disappointed.
He expected her to get cold feet but it was his job to convince her.
"Is that so? I guess it can't be helped," Kyle responded, there was no hint of disappointment in his voice.
"Coffee alone it is. Maybe some other time," Kyle said before ending the call.
Rejection wasn't the end of the world but how you react when rejected would determine how you're perceived in the long run.
He could have pushed and pressured her into meeting him, the chances of this working were high but she wouldn't be as comfortable as opposed if she made the choice entirely of her own volition.
Kyle had other things to do, for starters, he could redirect his attention to the hospital that Ella was admitted to but he had doubts she was still there.
There was no reason for her to stay longer than needed because they needed the beds for more patients.
Kyle was about to start his car before his phone rang once again, bringing his attention to his phone.
It was Cassandra, she cancelled on him so why was she calling him again?
That could only be because she had reconsidered her stance on the coffee meet-up.
[[Hi Kyle. My schedule just cleared up…]] Cassandra informed him but Kyle already knew she had nothing planned.
The chances of that being the case were low but he wasn't going to press her about it.
"That is great, should I pick you up?" Kyle asked, he knew he had to because he had no idea if she had nosey neighbours. That would certainly stir up drama if news should spread of a married woman entering the car of a man.
[[No, I will come to you.]] Cassandra responded.
"Don't worry, I will handle the fees. This is the address," Kyle reassured her, he had chosen a place that wasn't too far but also not close to where she said so the likelihood that someone would recognize her was low.
[[It is fine, I can handle it. I will see you soon, Kyle.]] Cassandra responded before the call came to an abrupt end.
Kyle had gotten the first stage out of the way but there was an energy shift, she not only sounded formal but she left no loophole for her to owe him any further.
She said she would handle the transport felt like a rejection like she was establishing some sort of boundary that Kyle wasn't allowed to cross.
Kyle sighed, he thought this was going to be easy but he was beginning to realize that she would be a lot harder to crack than he realized.
"Is this even worth it?" Kyle thought to himself but quickly pushed this thought out of his head.
The harder it was, the less likely he was to think about Aiysha, it was perfect.

Kyle arrived at the coffee shop, it wasn't far nor was it close to his place, they met halfway literally but he waited for Cassandra.
She didn't even share her trip or was she planning to drive here? Kyle didn't care much about her mode of transportation as long as she came here.
This was none of his business and Kyle realized that she was running late, checking his watch to see that she was approximately 30 minutes late already.
"The hell…" Kyle thought to himself, he was getting visibly irritated because she could have just said no instead of wasting his time.
Kyle was about to call it quits but before he could, a lady walked in, it was Cassandra.
She had on different clothes than the one that Kyle had told her to wear instead opting for a similar style of dressing that she wore the first time they met.
She was covered from head to toe with black shades, the only thing different was she didn't have the kid with her.
Kyle realized that she was taking back all the power she had given him and a hidden smirk creased his face because he found this fascinating.
