Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

Chapter 182 A Tale Of Ice, Fire And Steel [Part 1]

"Why don't we all get cool power-ups like that…" Hayden muttered under his breath yet all of them were able to hear him.

Zack just smiled without replying as his attention was focused on Gajeel. The dragon had suddenly stopped its advance and seemed to be struggling with something.

[ He seems as though he is fighting something that we can't see. ] Lance muttered as Zack decided to utilize the time to summon Snowie.

"Protect me?" He asked all of his teammates as they gave him a weird look.

Despite that, Zack sat down and closed his eyes. He tried to find his bond with Snowie by thinking of the dragon.

The others exchanged a look before cursing Zack. If Gajeel suddenly decided to launch an attack, they would be fcked up.

At the same time, the army of small dragons traveling toward the humans made their appearance. Hundreds of dragons took flight at once as they flew forward.

"Lisa, create some basic formations around Zack. Jules and Ken, go back and tell the others what is coming. Hayden, come with me and fight."

Emma immediately gave the commands before she launched forward.

[ Make sure to not kill any of them! ] Lance quickly shared the details with Emma as he was able to hear everything that Zack heard.

This made it possible for him to not only give orders but be ready to fight in case anything went wrong.

[ Zack, hurry up. ]

Zack already knew that he had to hurry up but he didn't want to fck up. He had managed to find a thin thread connecting him to Snowie and with the help of the thread, he was reaching out to the dragon.

'Now, I just have to get her here.' After thinking that, Zack bit the thumb of his right hand as a drop of his blood fell.

The drop of blood stopped mid-air as Zack opened his eyes and chanted a few words. With every word he spoke, the space around the blood would distort a little.

The reason for this was a pure white thread connecting the drop of blood to Zack's soul. He was using the same connection to summon Snowie.

"And that should be enough," Zack muttered as he stood up and felt the thread thickening. His eyes then moved down to see the small dragons being beaten by Emma and Hayden.

The two of them were trying their best to not kill the dragons and only dealt blows that would knock the creatures out.

Hayden used his axe to do it while Emma used a special kind of arrow. Her golden moonlight arrow was stored in a quiver behind her back as she kept shooting paralyzing arrow after arrow.

"You done?" Lisa's voice appeared from the side as Zack noticed that the blond girl was creating something in front of her in the air.

She sat crossed-legged in the air and had a huge circle drawn in front of her. Inside, the circle was numerous symbols connected.

The symbols were extremely small and one-fourth of the circle was still empty.

"Yeah, a girl with a dragon's tail should soon be appearing here. Look out for her while I go and help both of them." Zack announced before he shot forward at the speed of lightning and chopped at a dragon's neck.

The creature immediately flew down before being caught in a net and hanging in the air.

"This skill can be useful from time to time," Emma muttered as she kept on summoning nets to catch dragons inside them.

She was also able to trap a few conscious dragons who were trapped inside the net and couldn't use their powers.

Gajeel didn't move the entire time as most of the smaller dragons kept on getting captured. However, many of them were fighting back with their spells.

"Blue Tornado." Zack raised his right hand and summoned a tornado just in time to melt a sharpened iron pole coming his way.

The young dragons could also use all kinds of metals to attack which was making it difficult for all of them to capture them peacefully.

Now and then, a group of ten dragons would break through the trio's line of defense.

Jules and Ken would then move forward with a few earth magic users and try to counter the dragons with their attacks.

Jules turned out to be a pretty good water magic user as he would attack using water missiles or would try to make the dragons pass out by forcing water up their noses.

Though it was a painful and endearing process, it did its work and made the unconscious dragons fall.

Since Emma was taking care of the front, two or three formations masters gathered amongst the crowd would use their skills to create trapping formations.

The only problem was that they had to create them in advance since it took at least five minutes to create five such traps. They couldn't be created singly either which made all of them place traps all around.

The earth magic users would then have to pull on the dragons by making a piece of rock appear on top of their heads. They would then use the weight of the rock to pull the dragons to one of the formations.

'This quite the unique thing.' Zack thought as he would occasionally look over at the back to see that all of them were handling out on their own.

Gajeel paid them no attention and would occasionally shake his head or release a roar. It seemed to be behaving on a systematic approach and repeated the same thing over and over.

By repeating this process for thirty minutes, Zack and the group managed to successfully capture almost every single dragon that had appeared there.

However, they couldn't prevent deaths or major injuries. One of the dragons had pulled down a small piece of metal planted inside one of the humans standing on the platform and had torn his body from the inside.

Another had made a small needle pierce the neck of a woman which was met with heavy retaliation as the angry and terrified people released a few of their skills.

In the end, twenty dragons and three humans died. Gajeel hadn't done anything even when the dragons had died.

It was as though he couldn't react to whatever was happening and was forced to stay in the same place.

"So, what are we going to do next?" Emma asked while wiping the sweat off her forehead.

Due to all the nets she had created and all the moves she had used, she had exhausted more than seventy-five percent of her mana.

However, she had at least ten times the amount of mana a normal person had so she didn't face any problems while battling.

Hayden was more or less the same while Zack seemingly had no use for mana as his flames and weapons didn't require any of it.

But even he was itching to use the moment technique to see how strong it would make him.

"Well, we can't live peacefully with a giant dragon twitching above our destroyed place, now can we?" Zack asked as he turned around to see the drop of blood he had dropped in the air alongside Lisa.

The girl was almost done with whatever she was creating while the thread connecting the drop of blood had thickened to become as thick as a metal telephone pole from the old times.

Yet Snowie was nowhere to be seen. Zack wondered whether the bond would even work or if he was just wasting his time hovering there.

[ Fly up to Gajeel's eyes. I will see what I can do to talk with him. ] Lance suddenly suggested as Zack was taken back.

[ Do you think it's a walk in the park to talk with such a strong being. We might die by just flying in front of his face! ]

[ Trust me, nothing will happen. You just have to be ready to activate that lightning movement skill and we will zoom away. ]

Zack rubbed his temples as he decided to take the gamble and trust Lance. He then told the plan to the duo before shooting straight up towards Gajeel.

They could only stare at him with a slightly open mouth as Zack flew straight in front of Gajeel's eyes.

The dragon's eyes were half as big as him showing how big he was.

His new position didn't seem to affect Gajeel one bit as he continued with the same actions. Lance then decided to take over Zack's eyes by taking his permission.

Once he agreed, Lance was the one in control of the eyes and Zack saw the entire scene from a third person's perspective.

Lance on the other hand looked directly into the dragon's eyes before releasing a sigh.

,m "Old friend, why did you let yourself get trapped and be controlled by someone else," Lance muttered as, at the same time, Lisa finished her formations.

"Now, it's time to free him." She muttered to herself before putting her hand on top of the circle and activating it.

A red beam of light shot from the circle and directly hit Gajeel in the head. Zack and Lance flew down as the former gained back the control of his eyes.

[ What did you do? ] Zak asked Lisa who just shook her head and laid down in the air. Her entire body was sweaty as she had been precise with the entire thing.

"Just wait and see."
