Chapter 160 The President’s Live Stream
While Krizia and Khalon were out to loan money, Arlan and Winter devised a plan on how to eliminate the president. They spent the entire day coming up with a way to make everything go smoothly.
When night came, Arlan headed back to his bed. "I'm so tired... This is the longest 2 months of my life..." He sighed as he jumped into his bed. He didn't even bother to wear his sleeping clothes.
Arlan grabbed a pillow and hugged it tightly as he closed his eyes.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
Suddenly, his phone rang.
Arlan frowned and covered his ears.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
"Dammit! Who is it?! Who the f*ck is calling me at this hour?!" Arlan angrily threw the pillow before he sat up straight. He then grabbed his phone and stared at the screen to see who the caller was.
It was Fabian's number.
Arlan held back his annoyance and answered the call with a grumpy voice. "What is it?"
"I apologize for disturbing you, Mr. Roa. You should turn on your television or you can just watch the livestream. The president is looking for Donnyl Lisondra!" Fabian muttered solemnly.
Arlan furrowed his eyebrows upon hearing this. He quickly opened his social media app and searched for the president's live stream.
He soon found the livestream which had over 300 thousand viewers and the count was increasing by the second.
President Maracas was seated on a chair with a serious look on his face. He was dressed in white formal clothes. At this moment, he was talking about his goals for his 6-year term. "My fellow citizens, we are now facing a financial crisis because of inflation..."
"... I will try to lower the price of rice during my remaining time as president. 20 pesos per kilogram. That is my goal..."
"... I will make sure that the farmers..."
Arlan felt sick when he heard the president's promises. He knew that this was merely a lie to gain the people's support. The Maracas Family already had a past of distorting history so this move from the president wasn't surprising.
"... My fellow citizens, our military has already destroyed the NPA's main base and the three rebel leaders are already dead. Everything was made possible because of our soldiers' bravery and..."
Arlan chuckled in amusement. This guy was actually taking the credit for the destruction of the NPA when it was the Oorlwende Unit who did all the work. The country's military just finished off the remnants. The government had nothing to do with it and they didn't even fund the military. Their equipment and weapons were sponsored by the De Guzman Family. In short, the president had nothing to do with everything.
"And my last message to everyone is to be careful of this person..." The president said as a picture of Donnyl Lisondra flashed on the screen.
"This guy is the former police chief of Taguig City Police Station. He was responsible for the escape of Diego and he was also responsible for the deaths of many police officers! If you encounter this person, you must report it to the authorities immediately! A reward will be given to those who can give useful clues about his whereabouts." The president continued.
This time, Arlan narrowed his eyes.
"Mr. Roa, are you still there?" Fabian's voice drifted into his ears.
Arlan noticed that the call wasn't disconnected. "Yes." He replied.
"Did you see his livestream?" Fabian asked.
"Mn. You should go back home early, Uncle Fabian. You might have a lot of things to do tomorrow." Arlan said before he disconnected the call.
He didn't think that the president was actually shameless enough to claim the credit for something he didn't do. He was even planning to discard Donnyl to save his own skin.
"Tomorrow will be your death day..." Arlan muttered before he went back to sleep.

The next day, Arlan woke up early.
At 4:30 a.m., he flew towards an island in the Visayas Region via helicopter. He brought ten soldiers with him, including Donnyl.
When they landed on the island, the soldiers got down and installed their equipment. They also wore masks and armor to hide their faces. Arlan did the same. He wore a white mask.
"Is everything ready on your end?" Arlan communicated with Winter through the communication device on his ears.
"Yes. You can start the live stream and I will make sure that everyone in Maharlika will see it." Winter replied in a cold tone.
"Good!" Arlan smiled behind his mask. He then grabbed the listless Donnyl and tied him to a chair.
Donnyl didn't struggle and just allowed Arlan to do as he pleased. After speaking with Fabian yesterday, he felt like he had lost his will.
"Do you know what your owner did last night?" Arlan suddenly spoke.
Donnyl weakly raised his head and stared calmly at him.
Arlan smirked coldly upon seeing his expression. "Show it to him." He said to a soldier beside him.
A soldier grabbed a phone and showed the president's livestream to Donnyl.
Donnyl stared at the screen with calm eyes, but when he heard the president telling the entire country that he was a criminal, Donnyl's eyes flashed with rage. "Hahaha!"
Suddenly, Donnyl shouted after laughing crazily. "Hahaha! That bloody bast*rd! I will f*cking kill him!"
"It seems like you are just a dispensable dog for him." Arlan smiled in amusement.
"You don't need to insult me. Tell me what you plan to do! I will help you destroy that bast*rd!" Donnyl said while looking coldly at Arlan.
"You don't even need to do anything. You just have to be our main mascot." Arlan smiled mysteriously. He then gave a signal to the soldiers.
"We are ready, boss!" The soldiers shouted.
"Good! We will start the live stream at 7 a.m." Arlan checked the time on his watch.
There were still a few minutes before 7 a.m.
"Winter, we will begin soon. Don't make any mistakes." Arlan said.
"That should be my line." Winter replied coldly.
Arlan chuckled at her words.
