Chapter 163 Left Alone
Ken stared at the side mirror and saw two of their vehicles being forced to stop.
"Sir, we'll buy you some time! Take the president out of this place!" Ken gritted his teeth when he heard his subordinates' words. "I'm sorry, everyone! I will take care of your families!"
After a few more twists and turns, Ken somehow managed to escape from their pursuers. However, the remaining car that was following them could no longer be seen. His men were also not responding to his calls which means that they were either dead or captured.
Ken had been driving nonstop for almost four hours. "We're temporarily safe." He muttered.
"Thank god!" The president's wife heaved a sigh of relief.
Ken stared at them with a grim look on his face. There were only five bodyguards including him inside the vehicle. It would be dangerous for them if they encountered the pursuers again.
"Mr. President, we need to evacuate you and the madam. Our pursuers already recognized our vehicle and there was a high chance that we would encounter them again. Please step out of the car." Ken stopped the car on the side of the road.
"T-That... are you sure?" The president hesitated.
"There is no time to hesitate, sir! Let's go!" Ken opened the car door and alighted the vehicle. He then opened and passenger door and helped the president and his wife exit the vehicle.
"One of you has to drive the car." Ken stared at his remaining subordinates.
The eyes of his men turned serious upon hearing his words. "I'll do it. You guys should go. I'll lure the enemies away!" One of them stepped forward.
Ken's expression turned heavy as he looked at the man in silence.
"Stop looking at me like that, sir! You should go now before they arrive!"
Ken gritted his teeth and looked away. "I'm sorry, my friend..." He then disappeared into the woods with the president and the three remaining bodyguards.
The man watched them leave and when he could no longer see them, he entered the car and drove off.

"What's the situation over there?" Karl spoke over the radio.
"Sir, one of the bodyguards remained inside the vehicle and separated with the group, while the remaining people escaped towards a village in Muntinlupa."
Karl smirked derisively when he heard the report. "Did they think that we would be fooled by this newbie tactic? Conrad's team is waiting for them in Muntinlupa..."

It was 2 p.m. and the sun was blazing hot. Ken led everyone towards a small village, but they didn't use the main road because the president was too famous. The people would be able to identify him immediately. They passed through the woods behind the village.
"Wait! I'm tired! Let's take a break first..." President Maracas grabbed his knees as he breathed heavily. They ran for over an hour and he could no longer feel his knees. His wife was in an even worse state. She could no longer speak because of exhaustion.
Ken frowned upon hearing this. "Sir, we can't afford to waste any time at this moment!"
"Shut the f*ck up! Who do you think you are to order me around?! I'm the president of Maharlika! You should follow my commands!" President Maracas shouted angrily.
Ken took a deep breath and the thought of abandoning these people crossed his mind, but when he recalled his men's sacrifices, he swallowed his pride and bowed at the president. "I apologize, Mr. President..."
President Maracas snorted as he leaned on a nearby tree. His wife squatted beside him with a haggard look.
The three bodyguards walked towards Ken and whispered. "Sir, we should leave them here. There is no need for us to sacrifice our lives for such people!"
Ken stared at them and replied in a cold voice. "You guys can leave, but I can't go with you! I will tell them that you are scouting the area for us! Go!"
The three bodyguards hesitated when they heard this.
"I'm sorry, sir! I have a family waiting for me at home."
"I'm sorry, sir."
Soon, the three bodyguards left without looking back.
The president walked up to him and asked. "Where are they going?"
"They are scouting the area." Ken muttered. He wasn't angry at those people. He was just lonely for the men who had sacrificed themselves along the way.
The president stared at him doubtfully, but he didn't say anything after that.
"We should leave now, sir." Ken urged in a solemn tone.
"Fine. Let's go!" The president nodded his head.
Ken navigated the woods blindly. He didn't know this place and he no longer had anyone to help him.
Suddenly, a figure jumped out from above and caught him by surprise. He grabbed his gun, but the other party flung it away with a kick.
"Who are you?!" Ken shouted as he reached out for the pistol strapped on his leg. He then aimed at the other party and pulled the trigger.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The man rolled to the side and fired back at him.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Ken was shot in the leg, but he still managed to hide behind a tree. He then looked behind him and searched for the president and his wife, but they were nowhere to be seen. "Dammit!"
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
A bullet grazed his shoulder, making him groan in pain. He raised his pistol and randomly fired at the direction of the enemy.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Huh? Where is he?" Ken was stunned because there was no one in sight.
"Are you looking for me?" He heard a soft chuckle behind him.
He felt a chill as he quickly twisted his body and aimed his gun, but before he could pull the trigger, he suddenly felt a strong attack at the back of his head.
Pa!
"What a troublesome fellow. Too bad he is working for the wrong man..." Conrad retracted his rifle. He used the blunt edge of his weapon to smack the enemy, but he should still be alive.
