Chapter 261: The Second Line's Apostles
[It is information that you want?]
[Then you will get your information!]
Ding!
The ApostleDex opened again out of nowhere, taking Stark by surprise as he took another bite of the toast he prepared.
The crimson panel appeared before him again, with the 15 boxes containing the apostles of the 'Godless Demon', the first line completely crossed out since the five apostles on it had been killed.
But… he still had ten more to go.
Ten more gruesome fights to go through just to meet up with that 'Godless Demon' and kick its ass!
Hopefully he would have the level to at this point, but he would also probably only be at level 250 MAX, which would already be a miracle with the [Domination] class since that would mean being able to compete with people/monsters above level 1000.
Ding!
[You have received information to aid you in your quest!]
And thus… what Stark got was…
[You have been granted information about the location of all the apostles on the second line!]
"HOLY SHIT!" he shouted out of pure excitement.
This was BIG! REALLY BIG!
Of course, the difficulty would surely rise higher than he could even imagine for these apostles, but at least knowing where they were incredible!
"Hm~ mh…" he heard Lana make some cute noises as she turned around, holding one of the pillows tight, "Hehe~ not here Stark… hehe…"
"…" to be honest, he didn't even wanna know what she was talking about.
And so, he quickly returned to reading the [ApostleDex] panel, wanting to figure out where the hell were those apostles at.
Ding!
He began reading from the second line, stopping his eyes on the first black box, displaying the shadowy figure of an apostle he hadn't seen yet.
…
[Line 2, Apostle 1]
[Name: ???]
[Level: ???]
[Location: Devil's Abyss]
…
Then he quickly moved on to the next one.
…
[Line 2, Apostle 2]
[Name: ???]
[Level: ???]
[Location: Devil's Abyss]
…
"Huh…" he already knew that three apostles were waiting for him in the [Devil's Abyss] rift, which he had the key of, but he didn't expect them so soon!
…
[Line 2, Apostle 3]
[Name: ???]
[Level: ???]
[Location: Devil's Abyss]
…
Yep, this was confirmed: the next three apostles Stark needed to find if he wanted to fight them chronologically as to give himself a chance, were those in the [Devil's Abyss].
"Ah…" Stark sighed, this was bad news for him, since it meant that from now on, the apostles' level would surely be above 200 or even 250, and by the end of the second line, he already expected the [Crimson Moons Trio] to be level 500 or above.
It didn't matter though, so he moved to the apostle to the left from the visible picture of the moon trio, since he had already seen them once, their single eye staring at the boy as if they knew he was inspecting them.
Fwish!
…
[Line 2, Apostle 4]
[Name: ???]
[Level: ???]
[Location: Last Floor (10) of the Colosseum]
….
"Huh?" Stark had never heard of something like a 'colosseum'.
He had been in this world for a while now, and although it had been less than a year since his arrival, there was no chance he would have missed it.
Was the 'Colosseum' a rift? But then why would it talk about floors?!
"Well, I'll figure it out later," but there was one thing Stark knew: it was that at some point, he would enter that colosseum and fight the apostle.
Because no matter what he did, it was his fate as the 'Chosen One'.
Fighting those apostles was inevitable, and it was either he got rid of them one by one, or they killed him… and soon enough… they will take over the world.
For that is the true plan of the 'Godless Demon'.
Nobody, not even Stark, knew that he was one of the few ones actively trying to kill the apostles.
Basically… he was the unknown savior of this world, though his quest was still ongoing.
And as for the only visible apostle of the second line…
…
[Line 2, Apostle 5]
[Name: Crimson Moons Trio]
[Level: ???]
[Location: Third Domination Trial]
…
"…"
[Location: Third Domination Trial]
Stark made sure to read that several times just to make sure that he wasn't going crazy.
And yet, here it was, in front of his very eyes.
"…"
Not only did this mean that there would indeed be a third domination trial, at least a hundred times harder than the previous, but also that at least ONE of the apostles would be there.
"Ah… fucking hell…" Stark held his forehead with such force it actually began to hurt, "FUCK…"
He shouted that last sentence without even realizing it.
Thud!
And it surprised Lana so much she jumped from the bed and fell on the ground. Dive deeper into the story on m-vle-mpyr
"Ouch… what happene~d… I had the besssttt dreamm…" Lana mumbled, half asleep.
She rubbed her eyes, adjusting to her surroundings.
The usual Lana would immediately have her face turn completely red as she had essentially slept with Stark, because she got worried after seeing him sleep for two weeks straight.
She would also think something like 'h-he probably thinks I'm a pervert!!!', and almost die of shame.
But… right now… she wasn't feeling any of that.
Because as she was watching Stark, all she could sense was fear.
Stark didn't look normal: he was angry, so angry in fact that his crimson aura didn't only take over his face as usual, but his entire body too.
"Trial… trial…" he kept mumbling those words, deep in thought.
Lana had seen Stark get mad, obviously, but never this much.
"S-Stark…?" she truly couldn't comprehend what he was thinking, and why this happened the moment he woke up.
Did something bad happen in the outside world? Did he receive horrible news?
No… Stark wouldn't be bothered by what happened to others, and he didn't have anyone close to him besides her and Sora…
"Apostle… trial… domination…" he mumbled, his thoughts trying to arrange everything into something comprehensible.
"STARK!" Lana shouted again.
Fwish!
And this time, Stark turned his head toward her, not losing the aura around him, the vortex in his eyes not disappearing as it inspected the girl before him.
Woosh!
This made her legs tremble: she was scared.
She knew Stark wouldn't do anything to her, but seeing him like this was… hard.
But after only thirty seconds… the aura around Stark disappeared, and he retrieved his usual neutral expression.
"Alright, I get it now," he mumbled low enough for her not to hear, "I'll get rid of those bastards myself."
His determination had grown much more than before.
He didn't know why he got so mad after seeing the word apostle and domination trial next to one another, but it just… annoyed him.
Once he was back to normal though, he noticed that Lana was on the ground, her legs trembling, "What's wrong, did you see a demon," he smiled mischievously, back to normal.
"I-I guess you can say so…" she got up and smiled, happy that the Stark she liked was back.
"Heh~ I guess sneaking into my bed wasn't good enough for you, was it?" he added.
"…" and this time, she didn't have anything to say, "Sorry, just felt… comfortable doing so."
She didn't tell him, but she had been doing that for the past week.
Well… not that he would have cared, anyway.
