Broken muttered a curse under his breath as he read through the messages, then glanced at Elaine, a conflicted look in his eyes.

"Broken?" she whispered. "Is there anything I can do to help solve this? I'll do whatever it takes."

He hesitated, mulling over the ridiculous suggestions his friends had given him.
