Chapter 628: Chapter 628 - He is just an Ordinary Player
In a flash, Orion and Frostedge launched toward each other, their swords colliding in an explosive clash of fire and ice. The impact unleashed a shockwave, scattering sand and debris in all directions. The sand ignited briefly in the blazing flames, only to freeze moments later under the icy energy's chilling grasp.
The two fighters moved with incredible speed, darting through the chaos as their blades clashed repeatedly in a dazzling display of skill.
Frostedge unleashed bursts of ice, attempting to trap Orion in a frozen cage, but Orion countered each time, slashing through with massive arcs of fiery energy that shattered the icy structures midair.
With a roar, Orion unleashed a powerful skill, summoning a massive phoenix wreathed in flames. The fiery creature streaked across the battlefield with blinding speed, diving directly toward Frostedge.
Unflinching, Frostedge swung his icy sword in a wide arc, releasing a wave of freezing energy that engulfed the phoenix mid-flight. The battlefield crackled with opposing forces as, in an instant, both the blazing phoenix and Orion himself were encased in shimmering, crystalline ice.
Frostedge prepared to press his advantage, darting forward to strike. But Orion shattered the icy prison with a burst of raw power, breaking free and charging directly at Frostedge once again.
Their swords collided with another deafening clash, sending shockwaves through the air. This time, however, Frostedge's precise technique allowed him to disarm Orion, sending the flaming sword spinning out of his grasp.
Frostedge's blade continued its trajectory, stopping just short of Orion's neck, the icy edge glinting dangerously close.
"We should interfere!" Karl exclaimed.
"It's too late!" Yann replied.
Just before the final blow could land, a black object streaked through the air with incredible speed, slamming into the sand between them with a thunderous impact. A series of energy waves ripple outward from the point of impact, forcing both Orion and Frostedge to stagger backward, momentarily halting their fierce battle.
When the sand finally settled, a figure stood at the center of the battlefield-a woman with striking blonde hair, gripping a massive black shield that now jutted from the ground where it had landed.
"Ms. Ivana," Anna exclaimed, moving quickly toward her.
Orion scrambled to his feet, still holding his sword, though his expression now betrayed frustration. He glared toward the newcomer, only to falter when she turned her gaze to him and smiled.
"Hi, Lord Orion," Ivana said warmly. "Are you okay?"
Orion looked away, clearly still angry but unwilling to respond.
Ivana's attention shifted to Frostedge. The man stepped forward, no longer holding his sword, and bowed respectfully.
"Please forgive the chaos I've caused," Frostedge said calmly. "We had no intention of creating trouble-it was merely a casual duel. I apologize if I've caused any damage. My name is Frostedge, and I was on my way to visit the nearest town."
From the distance, another figure began to approach, floating gracefully in the air. Crackles of blue electricity danced along her body as she drew nearer. It was Elincia, her eyes narrowing as she focused on the name displayed above the player's head.
"Frostedge?"
"What's he doing here?"
Elincia descended to the sand, her movements deliberate as she walked toward the group. Her gaze lingered on Frostedge, who was still bowing and apologizing to Ivana and the others.
She sighed. "Why are more insane players showing up around here? He's not even supposed to be in this region."
Frostedge was no ordinary player. A renowned Pride Champion and holder of a Unique-grade class, his reputation preceded him. Though his name wasn't listed on any official dashboards, those who had fought him or even just heard of him knew one thing for certain: Frostedge was considered the best swordsman in the game.
He was a solo player, a wanderer who roamed from country to country and continent to continent, playing entirely on his own terms.
Many major guilds had tried to recruit him, offering wealth and status, but Frostedge had declined every offer. His only answer was always the same: he wanted the freedom to travel wherever he wished, untethered by guild obligations.
And now, this legendary figure stood near Slumdon, uncomfortably close to another 'broken' player known in the area.
Elincia couldn't help but feel a growing unease about what might unfold next.
But no... Frostedge wasn't supposed to be tied to any alliance, and with Broken currently far from the city, Elincia knew there was no real reason for concern. After all, Frostedge had a solid reputation within the game.
He rarely made enemies-either he utterly obliterated those who opposed him or he avoided conflict entirely. In some ways, wasn't he similar to Broken?
As Elincia drew closer, the others turned their attention toward her.
"Elincia, he's also a player," Ivana said with a faint smile. "And surprisingly skilled at sword fighting."
Elincia returned the smile, though her eyes lingered on Frostedge. "Yes, I know him."
Frostedge bowed respectfully toward Elincia, introducing himself with the same polite demeanor he had shown the others.
Yet Elincia couldn't hide the faint furrow in her brow. It stung just a little-despite her reputation, the man standing before her didn't seem to recognize her at all.
"My name is Elincia," she said. "I'm a member of the Vensalor Guild. And yes, our Guild Master is the one who owns the nearby town."
"It's a great honor to meet you, Ms. Elincia," Frostedge replied.
It wasn't every day that Slumdon Town hosted a player of Frostedge's caliber. Recognizing
the significance of his visit, Elincia took the lead, gesturing for the swordsman to follow her
toward the town.
The others trailed behind, exchanging glances as they walked.
"What's your purpose in coming to this area, Frostedge?"
"I'm just a wanderer," Frostedge replied calmly. "I go wherever my instincts take me, and
this place seems interesting."
"Is this your first time in the South Continent?"
"I don't recall ever saying I wasn't from this continent."
Elincia smirked. "You're more famous than you think, you know?"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Thank you for the compliment, but I'm just an ordinary player."
Elincia smiled and said. "Please, enjoy your stay in the town." "Thanks," Frostedge replied politely.
