Chapter 10: Kokai Gakko
Chapter 10: Kokai Gakko
Chapter 9
*Alarm ringing*
Inside a large, empty room, there was only a single wardrobe, a short shelf holding an alarm clock, and a spacious bed wide enough for three people to sleep comfortably.
Ryu lay on the bed, facedown, with the blanket thrown carelessly to the floor. He wore only a pair of boxers over a white top.
The alarm continued to ring loudly, but Ryu didn't even lift a finger.
Instead, he stretched out his palm toward the alarm, using telekinesis to crush it into tiny pieces.
"Try to shut up."
A young man in his mid-twenties burst through the door with worry. His expression shifted to shock as he took in the sight of the crushed alarm and Ryu sprawled carelessly on the bed.
"Ryu!!!! You brat. Why? Again!!"
Just then, Yuki, who was about to enter the hall where Ryu and Denji were, she heard the commotion and instantly hid behind the wall, chuckling to herself.
"He broke an alarm again. What a waste. I told Denji-sensei to use a trumpet instead."
____
Ryu stirred awake, stretching his arms as Denji continued his tirade, kneeling in front of the shattered alarm and lamenting as if he had lost a dear friend.
"This is the third time this week that you crushed an alarm. It's not free!"
Ryu shrugged, standing up from his bed.
"You're not paying for it anyway, so why make a fuss about it?"
Denji turned to Ryu with an intense glare, striding over to him. Ryu felt small under Denji's towering 6'6" frame, as if he were staring up at the ceiling.
Denji stretched his arm, almost like he wanted to snatch Ryu's head right off his shoulders. He groaned, and stormed out of the room, fuming.
"You better have arrived at class in the next hour!" Denji shouted back.
Ryu sighed, glancing at the ceiling. "I can't believe there will only be six students in the whole academy. But I guess it makes sense; there are only three clans, and they can't be giving birth like pigs."
Currently, each were from different clans. Two were from the Kuroyami clan—Haruki and Shinji—and the other two belonged to the Shadokai, known for their use of shadow techniques.
Their backgrounds remained shrouded in mystery, only the usual goal was known - to destroy all the souls.
Yuki emerged from her hiding spot and dashed toward Ryu's room. Hearing her footsteps, Ryu quickly shut the door before she could reach him.
"Aish, we'll meet in class, dumbass!" she shouted, grumbling as she walked away.
After an hour, Ryu finished preparing and stepped out of his room. He wore the academy's uniform: a black jacket with high collars and a fitted design, paired with dark pants, tapered at the ankles. The outfit also had a subtle sheen.
He walked outside the hostel, which was large enough to be called a five-star hotel, despite only six students living there. The academy was divided into six years, with each building located in different parts of Tokyo.
(Note: The academy wasn't exclusive to only clan members; it welcomed all Ki users. However, students were selected discreetly through observation and evaluation of their abilities. The academy's staff monitored potential candidates in their daily lives, looking for signs of exceptional talent or unique skills before extending an invitation to join.)
At this point, all first-year students were considered Initiates, regardless of their Ki levels.
Ryu arrived at class after a straightforward 30-minute walk. The first-year academy was over 30 acres, just like the other year buildings. Who sponsored all this? The three clans. How they get their funding remained a mystery.
As Ryu stepped into the classroom, he spotted Denji lounging at the front, engrossed in a game on his phone, completely oblivious to Ryu's entrance.
Yuki, Shinji, and Haruki were already inside, chatting idly, though Yuki kept to herself. Ryu and Yuki had a rivalry with the other two, stemming from the past incident involving Gojin.
Ryu took a seat at the back, and Yuki quickly sat beside him, a few meters away. The other two students hadn't arrived yet, leaving Denji to lazily occupy his time.
"Where are the rest?" Ryu asked.
"They should be here in a few minutes," Yuki replied.
Shortly after, the two students entered. A boy named Riku, he also wore the academy's uniform with a slightly oversized jacket.
Beside him was Sore, a girl. She always kept a smile on her face while her brother was the opposite.
"Let's begin class for today," Denji said, still focused on his phone.

INSIDE THE SEREN CLAN PALACE.
Gojin was in the training hall, effortlessly battling three level-four dolls. The barrier was active, shielding him from their attacks, while Taro watched from the sidelines.
Gojin moved faster than before, easily landing blows on the dolls, that struggled to keep up with his speed.
The backfire bounced their attacks back to them and causing severe damage.
Gojin dodged their swings and landed blows, creating holes in the dolls. It was almost too easy for him.
Taro observed from the sidelines.
"He's already on the rank of a grand exorcist; it's time his training gets harder," he mused, standing up and deactivating the dolls with a wave of his hand.
