Chapter 184 - Interesting Discovery
A winged figure made of light finally settled inside the shivering rosy body, taking root with its tremendous power which was barely containeble
Watching this scene YuJu sighed and got up to leave
"Should I ask her what blessing she received Master?"
"No, it's clear to me that it's the Seraphic blessing"
He spoke in disappointment, it was okay that she didn't go beyond the limits but she didn't even get a pure light Celestial blessing, instead receiving the wind and light Seraphic one
'I should have seen it coming when he sprouted wings of light during the battle'
Furthermore her second class was the Gale Guide so it was understandable that it was this mixed blessing that was received
"Master, thus power that she is emitting, is it merely temporary or ?"
"It's somewhat uncontrollable for the current her but with time she would grow accustomed to blessing and wield it to the fullest extent"
Hearing this Mia looked a little worried as she cast a side glance at the woman curiously checking out her new powers
"Wouldn't that be our undoing"
She muttered, words said like a whisper for it felt like they underestimated her master's own power, it couldn't be helped however as the presence of whatver decended was just that domineering
Hearing her YuJu chuckled lightly
"She would indeed become far stronger than you and I in simple terms of pure power, that's just how great of a class she got, it is the class I even thought of acquiring as my third if not for a happening in the past that made me no longer capable of doing so"
The smile from his face slowly faded, recalling what brought upon him this misfortune, only to return moments later in mocking
"That precise reason also allows me to totally counter any who would aquire this class, before me they would be helpless to put up any resistance"
Turns out he had his own plans all along, truly she underestimated him
Leaving Sofia to her own devices the two made their way out, heading not toward their den, but in the opposit side
Crossing quite some distance they came upon an empty plot of land, nothing could be seen for kilometers making the place look like a small desert
Mia followed her memory and drew a small signature on the ground, following which the earth opend up to welcome them
After taking the barely hardened stairs down a construction sight met their eyes, thralls moving about under the micromanagement of the worn out Nee to quickly make their new residence a livable place
"My Lord, mother"
She bowed upon seeing them, eyes squinting from tiredness even though she didn't really need sleep
"Has everything from the previous place been transported"
"Yes mother, nothing is left behind, I will have it burned to the ground once we're done with this place"
"What of Ellis"
"Sent away with Ika who wanted to explore the den of the Witness, I also had Zero accompany Imy to have some fun in the nearby runes so she also wouldn't chance upon the thralls"
Mia nodded, out of everyone Nee was the most accommodating to her master, perhaps it was only her who had accepted the vampire she became leaving behind her human emotions to the dust
Just when she was about to praise her Nee's eyes remedies to twitch all og a sudden, a sheepish look taken over her face
"Umm, Ika and Ellis are back and requesting entrance..."
...all intent of praise was gone, if something as simple as keeping that armored woman away couldn't be accomplished then what could she do?!
"Let's go meet them at the exit, I'll take them for a slaughter until your done"
YuJu decided to intervene, mostly because he had nothing else to do
Thus they took the stairs to exit the new place just as they stpped into it, arriving before the two who were quick to greet him
"Done exploring? Let's go get some levels"
"Actually Master, we came looking to speak about something we discovere, Ika did to he exact"
"Hmm? In the Witnesse's layer?
"Well my Lord, it's not exactly in the layer but the place that the layer leads to"
Ika's words caught his attention
"When we were decending the opening between floors I felt heat coming from under us, something I did not notice the first time I came since the creature was clouding the place with its own fiery energy, so since we had some time on our hands we decided to check ot out"
"Underground volcano?"
She shook her head at his assumption
"I presumed so as well at the beginning but the place turned out to be some sort of huge labyrinth, filled with flowing lava, we dared not explore too much of it since we saw yet another witness down there but I did feel something through my skills, it's just that I am unsure of what I believe it to be..."
She looked unsure wether or not to share her findings since they were based on intuition but his gaze didn't allow her to stop there, knowing another witness existed down under demanded awnseres
"I really am uncertain but I could somewhat feel traces of something helpful to my class, what they are or if they really would be of help I am unsure of"
Uncertain as she seemed to be YuJu knew her senses were on the mark, tracing down fire was her specialty so some unqie fire must exist within the depths of the labyrinth, one capable of advancing her class or at least completing one of the pre requests of doing so
'I'm worried about the second Witness's existence however, of it and the other we killed fought causing the other to go up then all is good, but of they were on friendly terms then I'm afraid a leader had them submit'
Uncommon as the latter reasoning was it sounded more plausable given the two didn't travel far into the labyrinth to meet the many eyed creature
"What will we do Master?"
Ellis questioned, actually worried that they would go down there, those burns from the previous fight with one of those things were still fresh in her memory
"We go fetch Zero, meanwhile Ellis will keep watch over Imy"
Zero's strength was only second to Ellis but her class allowed her more leeway against those things, at least she could transform into a bat to avoid fatal attacks if push came to shove
The armored redhead didn't know wether to feel happy not having to fight or sad that she wasn't powerful enough to be of use, following behind them with a conflicted expression hidden under the her helmet
The four of them quickly located Zero jumping through tiled numbers with the small girl singing by the side to match her rhythm, George the bat clapping by the side
"Uncle! Did you come to play too?"
"Ellis wanted to play with you for a while actually, a little too bored exploring the land"
"That's wonderful, we can finally play games made for three!"
Imy grew delighted, noting the awkward expression on everyone's face however she realized that Zero was not acompying her to play no more
"Does big sis Zero have to go..."
"I'm afraid so, it won't be long before she comes back, then the three of you can play together all you want"
He comforted, a tempting offer indeed, only she felt somewhat worried what they might need her big silent and kind sister for
"Come back to play hide and seek with me okay big sis?"
Zero nodded toward the worried kid
"It's a promise now you can't go back on your word!"
Sealing the deal by sneakily linking the sharp pale pinky with her own tiny one Imy ran to take away Ellis who went with the flow, knowing she might have to be stuck baby sitting for a good while
"The kid is getting gusty every passing day, dosnt look like we are even vampires in her eyes any more"
Mia commented, unbothered by the little girls act and finding it cute
"Such unburdened innocence, perhaps she is the last who holds it in the entirety of the human race"
YuJu seemed melancholic at this sight, ruining the nice moment for everyone with his pessimistic words
"Does my Lord require my assistance"
Shifting the conversation toward the reason for their arrival Zero asked
"We are exploring an underground labyrinth and are in need of someone who can tank the front, since it's a Witness we're up against"
Ika eagerly explained, giddy to get the group going and get her hands on whatever inside, maybe get a boost just like Zero did and suddenly become powerful enough so she could protect her race, or cut down the casualties to a minimum if possible
'Maybe I'll even get to stop all these deaths we are causing, the Lord wouldn't need to go through his plans of someone can stop the mist'
That was perhaps too hopeful, dreamy even, but she truly believed it to be possible, all that hinged on what really lay inside the labyrinth
