Master Of Myths

Chapter 238 - Rising Threat

Back in human territory YuJu emerged as Ephai, calming the frantic humans and giving a simple explanation on the immobilized status of the enemyÂ

After doing so he did not linger any longer, with the excuse of checking this new race out he disappeared and left them to their own devices, heading back to the house to meet up with Ellis and the rest

"Master, would they be attacking any time soon?"

Was the first thing Ellis asked upon his return

"Not any time soon, unless they get interested in the first report sent back they shouldn't be bothering the base for a while since Anput had one of them send fake status reports every now and then"

The redhead breathed a sigh of relief, honestly she wasn't sure they could take on an entire battalion of those poeple even with all of them present

"Should we level up then?"

"That would take time and be hard to achiev, to begin with at our current level only destroying active civilizations could get us a few levels, otherwise it would take forever if we just kill any roaming beasts who might or might not be twenty levels under us"

Destroying civilizations didn't exactly fit with her, nor most of the others present, so she hoped for his next suggestion to be more friendly, and for once it surprisingly was

"While we temporarily cover the situation up we shall split and meet with nearby dominant races to form an alliance"

"But we don't know how to speak their language"

After suffering from the problem for quite some time Ellis instantly keyd in on the matter

"I do, and I can share with Mia my knowledge through blood message, Abaddon can speak a few as well, and I'm sure you can learn one or two on your way"

This wasn't simple math, it was an entire language, but given her high intelegence Ellis could indeed learn a few languages with ease

"Some races can be controlled through sheer terror too, Ika and the Witness can handle those"

As conflicted as she was about the matter Ika nodded in agreement, hopefully only terrifying them would suffice, she would rather avoid killing

From then on they got busy preparing for departure, Mia taking in as much information through blood, YuJu writing down the rules and words for Ellis, and Abbadon noting any races that he knew how to communicate with, and those he was sure he could learn by eating one or two of their members

All this happend in a matter of five days before the Witness arrived from its trip, marking the time of departure

Gathered in front of the house they all looked to YuJu who was about to breif them on their missions once more

"Our goal in this trip is to inscript as many races into the alliance as possible, be watchful of your behavior so as to limit any potential enemies, the last thing we need is another score on the enemy board"

His eyes gazed at Abbadon specifically as he said that making the metallic hulk shrink its neck

"We shall be divided into five teams, Mia and Zero toward the Fairy Forest, Abaddon and Saa toward the Deep Swamps, Ika and the Witness along with some of its kin will invade the Slumbering Valley, myself and Subrina will be paying a visit to High Fageroth and stop by Vencula Hortus on the way, and finally Ellis who will climb the Impassable Hills"

Everyone gave the redhead a pitying look, not only was she going alone but her destination sounded the harshest of all making them wonder of their master was angry with her for being caught

She on the other hand did not seem to mind, for her race she would climb any mountain much less a few hills

"Any question?"

None of them raised doubt earning a nod from him

"Then I bid you all farewell, bring good news upon your return"

""Yes""

Those who could speak answered before dispersing toward their own direction

"Let us go too"

"Yes Master"

Subrina beamed from the side as she followed him onto the back of Jasper who took to the skies with vigor, happy to finally get a some time outside

.....

A few worlds apart from our venturing group was a land unlike most, there were no plants living its surface, no critters of any source, the only sound on this golden painted earth was either the flapping of wings or steps of heavy metal

At the very center of this holy land lay a tower, so tall and mighty, yet dwarfed if ever in the presence of Hortus

Atop this tower was an open hall, the voices of those present inside echoed through it as they leisurely discussed the happenings of their realm

"Humans? I seem to recall this race"

"Yes your majesty, our forces tangled with one of their kind, a man with burning hair and clawing hands"

"Ah, I recall that one, quite ferocious wasn't he? How goes the search for his whereabouts"

"All our scouts got killed on their mission thus it was suspended for the time being"

"....."

The shiny hall fell silent, only the tapping of an armored woman seated at the throne rang, even the seven winged ones seated around her did not make a sound

"This race, Humans, looks like a rising threat, not only that but they are close to our lands, I deem their existence extinctable, what say my wings?"

"I am in agreement"

"I as well"

"A little precaution is wise, maybe scout their land and see what they're capable of"

"They are five worlds apart, we could let them be for a while"

"No, a tinder sparks into a forest fire in no time, we should extinguish it before it gets out of hand"

Five spoke their opinion and two abstained with majority supporting the opinion of war, enough for the empress to make her decisionÂ

"War it shall be, Galileo, gather a quarter of the available Elites and head to slay those pesky humans, remember, cut the blood before it can sprout more seeds"

Following her words the clinking of metal resounded above, one of the many cages dotting the ceiling opend to free its prisoner who dashed with such speed one couldn't see but a flash of dark gold

"Don't fail or your feathers will don my next dress"

Her words followed the departing figure in warning, one she gave far too often, and alwayse followed through
