Chapter 1368 So Touchy
Chapter 1368 So Touchy
The nightclub that Xiang Wai picked was a special existence in the elite class. It wasn't crowded like other nightclubs and it wasn't filled with all kinds of mixed oddballs too. Few of the youngsters were dancing on the dance floor having fun while most people seemed to be sitting in the dark corners with their groups.
The three of them walked through these people to enter the private room that Xiang Wai booked. A lot of eyes followed their figures until they disappeared from sight.
"Is it just me or the head-turning rate was too high just now?" asked Xiang Wai.
"With Chief around, you get used to the head turnings and constant stares," said Cloe with a sigh.
"You both don't have to look down on yourselves. You aren't looking half back either," said Raelle as she looked around the private room curiously. She had seen nightclubs in other countries but she had never been to one since she came to settle down here. It's not like it was a place where she'd choose to hang out with anyone.
"Thanks for the compliment," said Cloe.
"Pleasure is all mine," replied Raelle. She took out wet wipes from her clutch and wiped the leather couch carefully.
"What are you doing?" asked Xiang Wai.
"I told you her mysophobia kicks in at odd times," reminded Cloe. "And Raelle, really, there is no need for this." Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"There is," said Raelle. "There are all kinds of people coming here and even doing all sorts of things on these very couches. Now that I have said it, I feel like I can't bring myself to even sit down here."
Xiang Wai groaned when she heard that.
"Now, do you see why I said let's choose somewhere else?" asked Cloe to her.
Xiang Wai also felt like she was thinking right when she decided to bring Raelle here. But maybe it's because she had never seen how Raelle reacted to places like these. She could practically see the disgust in Raelle's eyes as she looked around the VVIP private room that she booked in the city's best nightclub. Her sister's tastes were really not aligned with her. She seemed to always forget that she was the careless soldier who didn't care about the environment but her sister grew up in a castle with everything at her disposal.
"We are not here to sit anyway," said Xiang Wai. "Let's go and dance the night way."
She dragged Raelle to the dance floor and started shaking her body with the rhythm of the music but Raelle just stood there looking at her like she was some kind of a fool.
"Don't just stand there."
Raelle touched her ear before taking a deep breath and getting down the dance floor. "Where are you going?" Cloe held Xiang Wai's hand to stop her, "You let her go if you don't want to make her really mad. I wanted to say this from the moment you made the plan to come here to celebrate. Told you so! Raelle Xiang isn't someone who would like such a place. You heard it even from her husband. It's beyond her comfort zone. I saw her entering a nightclub for Fai but even he can't make her agree to dance here or have fun. She'd constantly be trying to filter out the noise from her head. This is nothing more than a torture for her."
"I didn't think it was that serious," said Xiang Wai.
"It is that serious."
Both them followed to find where Raelle went and saw her standing in front of the bar counter. "Is she gonna drink?"
"She doesn't drink usually though," answered Cloe.
"I'll have a Bloody Mary," ordered Raelle after taking a while to see what she wanted. She wasn't planning on getting drunk tonight but she really had to get some alcohol in her system to bear through this night. Why did people even like coming to such places? What exactly was fun here? All she saw was people grinding against each other on the dance floor or getting drunk to take advantage of others.
Who in their right mind would want to enter this place willingly?
They couldn't all be forced like her.
"How about a drink for this beautiful lady?" Raelle didn't even turn her head to look at the man who asked this question and said, "You better get this sleezy face out of my personal space before I change the way it looks."
"Feisty, I like that," chuckled the man at her as he tried to get even closer.
Before Raelle could do anything, both Xiang Wai and Cloe ran over. One held Raelle back and the other held the wrist of the man in her tight grip saying, "My sister told you to keep your distance. You should learn to listen."
"Ouch! Ouch! Okay! I'm sorry! Let me go!" begged the man.
Xiang Wai sighed and gave him a roll of her eyes before throwing him away. When she turned around, she was met with Raelle's eyes which seemed to be also asking her how did she come up with the brilliant idea of coming to this place to celebrate. She was really regretting it now.
"Okay, I made a mistake. We all do," said Xiang Wai.
"You always say that," said Raelle. "This is the second time you just said that in the span of an hour. Can we leave here now? If one more person came here and tried to enter my personal space, I'm gonna make sure they are never able to walk again."
"You're tyrant sometimes," muttered Xiang Wai to herself but she didn't dare doubt Raelle's words either right now. "Fine. Let's get out of here first. Are you gonna wait for your drink or we should leave?"
"I think we should leave," said Cloe. "She won't be drinking anything."
"I didn't say that."
"But I did," insisted Cloe as she looked her arm with Raelle's to take her out.
"Why are you both so touchy tonight?"
No one answered Raelle's question because they weren't in the mood to do so.
