Chapter 69: 2) Fiancee of Young Master Qin
Nonetheless, Xian Tian felt his heart sink with disappointment at Bai Lingyun's words, but he was determined not to let his ardor be so easily extinguished.
"I understand your reluctance, Young Miss," he replied, his voice low and velvety smooth.
"The ties that bind you to another are not easily broken,"
He reached out, ever so gently tracing the delicate curve of her cheek with the back of his fingers.
"But what if fate has brought us together for a reason? What if the very heavens that seem to stand against us are in truth conspiring to unite our hearts?"
His crimson gaze burned with a smoldering intensity as he gazed down at her, silently pleading for her to see the earnest yearning in his eyes.
"I know I am but a humble disciple, unworthy of your station. But I also know that my feelings for you are true and pure. I would move the very earth and sky itself to be by your side..." he pulled words straight out of his ass.
Hmppp!
Bai Lingyun's breath caught in her throat at his impassioned words, her cheeks flushed with a becoming shade of pink.
She opened her mouth as if to speak, then closed it again, seemingly at a loss for words.
Finally, she reached up to gently cover his hand with her own, her slender fingers intertwining with his.
"Xian-gege..." she began, her voice barely above a whisper. "I cannot deny that I feel a connection with you that I have never experienced before. Your presence sets my heart aflutter in a way that no other man ever has, you are a great man with a good reputation,"
She paused, her gaze dropping demurely. "But the promises I have made to another...they are not easily broken. My duty and honor as the daughter of my noble household must come before the desires of my heart," Bai Lingyun continued, her eyes shining with a mixture of regret and longing.
"Yet, I cannot help but wish..." She hesitated, her grip on his hand tightening ever so slightly. "I cannot help but wish that things could be different..."
Xian Tian felt his heart swell with hope at her words. There was still a chance... Huge chance.
Slowly, he brought her hand to his lips, pressing a reverent kiss upon her delicate knuckles, like a gentleman he is.
"Then allow me to show you, my Lady, that the path before us need not be so clear-cut as it may seem," he murmured, his gaze unwavering.
"Speak with me, confide in me your heart's true desires. Together, we may uncover a way to reconcile the demands of duty with the whispers of your soul... I am ready to talk to your father, grandfather... Or anyone,"
Bai Lingyun's eyes widened at the fervent conviction in his voice, and for a moment, she seemed utterly captivated, all her carefully cultivated poise and composure slipping away.
Then, with visible effort, she composed herself once more, gently withdrawing her hand from his.
"I...I must think on this, Xian-gege," she said, her voice trembling ever so slightly.
"The weight of my responsibilities is great, and I cannot simply cast them aside, no matter how my heart may yearn... However, talking about this matter with my father and grandfather... It may not be simple as my family owes a huge one to Young Master Qin's Mother,"
She offered him a bittersweet smile, her eyes filled with a melancholic carving.
"But I thank you for your understanding, and for your unwavering faith in me. It gives me hope that perhaps...perhaps there is a way, if only I can find the courage to grasp it,"
Xian Tian's heart swelled with renewed hope at Bai Lingyun's words.
He reached out to gently take her hand in his own, his crimson gaze burning with a fervent intensity.
"Then allow me to be your strength, my lady," he murmured, his voice low and rich with emotion.
"Whatever burdens you bear, whatever responsibilities weigh upon your shoulders, let me bear them alongside you..."
He brought her hand to his lips, pressing a lingering kiss upon her fingertips to butter her up.
"I know the path before us is not an easy one, but I promise you, I will move the very heavens themselves to clear the way," he once again pulled the words out of his ass.
Bai Lingyun's breath caught in her throat at the raw sincerity in his words, her cheeks flushed even more with a becoming shade of deep red. For a moment, she seemed utterly hypnotized, her gaze locked with his own.
Then, ever so slowly, a tremulous smile blossomed upon her rose-petal lips.
"Xian-gege..." she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I...I confess, I know not what to say. Your words fill my heart with such hope, yet..."
She hesitated, her gaze dropping demurely. "My duty and honor as the daughter of my noble house, they are not easily cast aside. I fear the consequences should I choose to follow the desires of my heart,"
Who knows what might happen to her? What her father might do?
Suddenly they moved a few inches apart... Her hands pushed his chest.
"I have somewhere else... I need to go, please forgive me," She uttered in a polite tone and left the scene.
Xian Tian shook his head and went to check on Young Master Qin.
Slap! Slap!
Since he was a little angry he even gave a few slaps to Young Master Qin to calm himself down.
"ahhhh!" he felt irritated.
Ho Ho! You should have used your bloodline to attract her... It's a common idea, that when you can't pull out the ghee with straight fingers, bend it.
You do know that she was getting horny so she maintained her distance from you? You are a fool to let her go.
'B-But... I couldn't...'
Couldn't what? Don't tell me you don't want to use your blessing to have your way with women.
Haah- you have done a noble act huh? Shall I reward you? Haha! Pathetic.
LET ME TELL YOU ONE THING... I AM HELPING YOU! I AM YOUR ONLY FRIEND.
