Mission XX: Seducing The Great Seducer

Jeff was a bit startled thinking that maybe he did something to upset the man.

"Dad stop scaring him...,"

"If he is so easily scared then he should better go home now because no timid man stands a chance with my daughter," Mr Qin said before he ushered Jeff into the house.

Entering the huge sitting room, Jeff let his eyes wander around the room. The colour of the room was a combination of brown and blue. The pieces of furniture and decors was also a combination of these two colours.

"Stop staring and come sit," Mr Qin now sitting on the brown couch said when he saw how keenly Jeff was staring at the interiors of the room.

Jeff instantly did as he ordered. He dropped his luggage at a corner and went to sit beside Catherine.

"Darling, come sit beside me," Mr Qin said as he tapped the place he wanted her to sit. Jeff did not need anyone to tell him that the elderly man did not want him to sit beside his daughter. Catherine did as her father wanted.

"So what is your name and which household are you from?" Mr Qin began his interrogation.

"My name is Jeffrey Darwin but my friends simply call me Jeff and I am from the famous Darwin family in Central City," Jeff replied politely.

"What is your job?" Mr Qin goes ahead to ask another question. He deliberately ignored Catherine's signal for him to stop questioning Jeff.

"I am the CEO of Darwin Corporation," Jeff replied just like he was asked.

"What do your parents do...,"

"Dad, why are you asking him so many questions? You didn't even give him something to drink before you started interrogating him. Dad where is your hospitality," Catherine said displeasingly.

"I am not asking you questions so just keep quiet and listen. And isn't it your job to entertain your visitor or isn't this your home anymore?" Mr Qin asked sternly. He shifted his gaze back to Jeff after Catherine went away to bring Jeff what to drink.

"My dad is the chairman of Darwin's Corporation and my mum is the Chairwoman of Darwin Corporation but she also runs an art gallery," Jeff replied in a calm and composed tone.

"For how long have you been going out with my daughter?" Mr Qin questioned not giving Jeff a breathing space.

"For over two months," Jeff answered nervously. He anxiously waited to hear what will be his next question.

"Have you both made love...,"

"Dad!!!" Catherine came out in time to save the anxious Jeff who has begun coughing on hearing his future father-in-law's question.

"Dad, how could you ask him such a question. And dad, stop treating me like a child because I am an adult. I can't whatever...,"

"You might have managed to bewitched my strict daughter but be informed that you haven't gotten my permission yet. Getting my permission to date her isn't easy so I ask that you give up now that you still can," Mr Qin said as he stood up from the couch.

"Dad, why are you doing this to us? Am not still your beloved daughter...,"

"You are still the apple of my eyes but you know I will never joke around with anything that concerns your marriage and lifetime happiness," Mr Qin said as he walked towards his room.

"Dad, he never said he had the intention of marrying me so why are you making things hard...,"

"If he doesn't have such intentions then what is he doing in my house?" Mr Qin asked as he turned and threw the innocent Jeff a murderous glance.

"If you intend to only use my darling daughter and discard her like garbage then don't let me wake up and find you in my house," Mr Qin said before he entered his room which was on the right-hand side of the room.

"Frey, my dad is indeed strict but he is also very nice. I am sure he was only putting up that cold front to scare you but the truth is he must be very happy since this is the first time I brought any man home," Catherine said as she went to sit beside the once tensed Jeff.

"Am I your first boyfriend?" Jeff asked curiously as he turned to stare at her.

"I had a lot of pursuers but I didn't date any one of them because I had no such luxury," Catherine said seriously.

"I travelled all the way to Central City to school and afterwards earn lots of money so I had no leisure to enter into a relationship. Also after what Jasmine went through in the hands of the man she loved, I lost interest in love between a man and woman...,"

"Then that means I am lucky to be your first and last man," Jeff said smiling as he raised his hand and caress her face.

"Stop it or my dad will scold you if he sees us like this," Catherine said as she sneaked a peep at her father's room door.

"Erin, why did you tell your dad that I had no intention of marrying you. I thought I proposed to you but you rejected me...,"

"Don't you want to shower so we can go to bed? If you have the intention of being questioned the entire night then you can sit here. I am sure dad will be coming out soon," Catherine said as she stood up and grab her luggage.

"I am coming with you," Jeff said as he stood up to follow Catherine but just then Mr Qin's door open.

"Darling, take your visitor into the spare room upstairs," Mr Qin said and went back into his room. The way he acted was as if he overheard their earlier conversation. Jeff frowned when he realised that he had to sleep alone.

"You heard him right so let me take you to your room," Catherine said when Jeff still tried to walk towards her room.
