Chapter 171 Checking current stats and Gear

John appeared in the middle of a forest surrounded by trees that seemed to have a red tinge to them.

As he looked around he saw a few animals run away at the surprise of a human suddenly appearing out of thin air.

He looked up towards the sky and after a moment saw what appeared to be smoke rising in the distance.

“I guess that’s the direction I am heading in.” John said before he set off in the direction of the smoke.

As he traveled John kept an eye out for any deers just in case he happened to come across the silver deer that Bengal had tasked him to find while also picking up any herbs his detect herbs passive alerted him to as he passed them.

“Oh right I still have some gear I got from the dungeon I can equip now that I am level twenty, let's do that before checking my status.” John thought out loud.

As John continued to travel through the forest the trees started to thin letting him know he was getting closer to the edge.

Eventually John reached the edge of the forest with no issues and in the distance he saw where the smoke was coming from.

A small wood mill had been erected for processing the redwood before they were shipped off to wherever needed.

A little further away was a small village that was redwood village.

John only observed his surroundings before he turned in the direction of Waning City.

The road that he found himself on was rather beaten down, most likely from all the carriages that transported the redwood.

As he finished speaking his body began to shrink and transform.

John was shocked at his speed.

While he had never really tested his full running speed in his human form, he knew he was faster than in Atlantia since the Dexterity stat got released, now however he was moving at a ridiculous pace.

He took a quick look back over his shoulder and noticed that Redwood Town had not become a spec even though he had only been moving for a few seconds.

“Let's try this.” John said happily before saying.

John’s speed doubled instantly and he moved so fast that it took him a second or two to get used to the difference in speed as he almost tripped over his own feet.

It also took his sense of vision a moment to adjust so that everything wasn't just a blur.

Within the five seconds of the speed burst he passed a few human’s walking along the road.

They looked in shock at the direction he went and seemed to say something but by the time they started talking he was too far away to hear what they said.

As his speed burst came to an end his speed reduced back down to what it originally was and he kept running towards Waning City.

As he approached Waning City the road got significantly better and smoother and was obviously more well maintained than back at Redwood Village.

He also found more people traveling the road here and more carriages transporting a variety of different goods, from livestock to fruit and veg, or other goods.

The carriages heading towards the city were full of goods and produce, while the one’s leaving were empty after a good day off trade.

John also passed several caravans transporting npc’s and players.

One particularly full caravan heading in the direction of the city was so full that people were even resorting to traveling on the roof.

As he passed several of the players on the roof called out to the ones inside pointing towards him.

“Hey look at that rabbit, it’s moving so fast, it's even overtaking our caravan.” 

“That’s not really surprising, everything is overtaking us as we are so laden down with people, why did you make us ride this one?”

“You know why it’s because of who is inside.”

“God you're such a fanboy honestly, you know you don’t have a chance right?”

“I know but I can at least get to say I traveled and spoke with her now.”

“Why does that rabbit have antlers?” 

“That’s a good question, hey why don’t we hunt it since its passing, we might be able to sell it for a good amount in the city, if not maybe it will taste good.”

“Might as well relieve the boredom.”

As the group on the roof spoke one of the players who was apparently a hunter took out his bow before aiming at the rabbit and losing an arrow.
