Chapter 3917 Gone
Chapter 3917 Gone
"Finally,"
I said as I read the message on my badge. It had come a few hours earlier when I was sleeping.
It had been four weeks since I came here and I have been spending most of my time in the fortress, rarely going out of it.
It is self-sufficient; it has everything I need. I could practice here and spar; I could also get any alchemical resources in here.
Though they aren't the reason, I had stayed inside.
I stayed, so they could keep their eye on me. See, there is nothing to suspect.
I don't know whether or not I succeeded. Considering, the faint soul sense is still tracking me.
Most people wouldn't want such things, even the experienced spies. I don't like it either, but I have made the preparations, and my clone is tracking my every move.
It didn't let me do, what Ranis Card wouldn't.
The time dilation is quite helpful for that. It had saved me from making hundreds of small mistakes.
I remained smiling on the bed before walking out and freshening up with energy.
Even after a month. I didn't get used to the new habits. I still crave water on my body and feel hungry, pangs for breakfast as I am feeling right now.
I also crave a good food.
I ate out mostly, as that is what Ranis used to do, and while the food was good. It is not the level of what I could cook.
I sighed internally and sat down before closing my eyes.
A moment later, I begin to practice the soul method with a fraction of the focus, before entering my core.

Hours passed, and soon it was twelve when I had opened my eyes and walked out of my suite.
I went to the cafeteria directly and ate, sitting in my usual place. I kind of miss Lidris, but she is out, sent on a mission to check out another person a few days ago.
I have found a lot of information through her, but not the one, I had wanted.
The reason for the changes happening in their constitution. Through it into her soul and body.
I had studied her meta-scan well. It is far deeper than what the organization had. Things, I had found there confused me more than gave me the answers.
Though there may be more questions in mind, I found some answers.
The first is that whatever causing these changes is quite powerful. Normal resources or things couldn't bring such changes; they need something really powerful.
And ancient for such effects.
I didn't have concrete proof, but I think, these changes are made by a being rather than some ancient thing.
I like to believe, that I am quite good at what I do and have enough experience to make the judgement.
But as I had said, I don't have concrete proof. I will have to find it before I can say it with surety.
I finished the lunch and walked toward the med-hall. It is a place, I really don't want to go to, but Ranis had a monthly appointment with the healer to check his soul.
The hereditary problem was real in Knell. The method only manages it.
Still, he is a cautious man and checks himself with a healer every month to see if there is any problem. If there, work to heal them.

The door opened, and I saw Deer Beastman, standing by the med-bed.
Beside him is a familiar green-scaled woman. She was Ranis's healer, but now that he had leveled up, he would need to be checked by the Sky Sovereign healer.
"Healer Digin. Healer Vena," I greeted the two.
"Mr. Card, I have reviewed your records and I want to assure you, that there won't be any problem," said Healer Digin.
"Thank you, healer Digin, but my mind won't rest, till I see the proof," I said, and the man smiled.
"Please, lay on the med bed," said the man, and I did what he asked.
Buzz!
The bed activated and began to scan me, while the man put a hand on my chest and began to scan me with his own methods.
The healer may be Grade VI, but I am not worried about him. I am worried about the soul sense, that is gently seeping deeper into me under the cover of the healer's method.
The formations in the shell lit up and they begin to show them what I want them to see.
Still, there is a huge fear in my heart.
If I get discovered. There is only death, no-one will be able to save me, not even the Tor or Alkaz or anyone.
So, I cannot get caught.
Seconds passed and turned into minutes. Finally, seven and half minutes later, the healer removed his hands and with it, the soul sense.
Hun!
To my surprise, it didn't return around my body. Instead, it had just disappeared.
For the past three weeks. It hadn't left me, even for a second. It didn't even happen when I got out of the fortress, but now it had left.
I felt like a huge load lifted off my shoulder. I wanted to scream, but I remained lying without a change in expression.
Looking nervously at the healers, who are staring at the soul section of my meta-scan.
He did it for a few minutes, before turning to me with a smile.
"It is good news, Mr. Card. There is no problem with your soul; there is even a slight indication, that your hereditary problem might recover a little," he said, and my eyes lit up.
"Really?" I asked, nearly screaming, and the healer nodded.
"Though nothing could be said, before further observation," he added.
"Thank you, doctor. For showing me hope for the first time," I said channeling some of my patients.
"We are not sure, Mr. Card. We will further observation to be sure," he cautioned, but I still kept smiling.
Click!
A few minutes later, I walked out of the healer's office, with a smile hanging on my face.
The smile is about the seeds. I could finally start to use them, now that the powerful soul sense had gone.
