70 [Bonus Chapter] Chapter 0070
The Chasm Castle
Inside the throne room of the abyss's sole ruler, the emperor of the great Charm Empire, Vesco Komnen Lazovic.
The emperor was sitting on his high throne. Vesco was an arch-demon with dark black hair, two pairs of horns, a humanoid body and a feminine face. He had slit golden eyes, the symbolic trait of an arch-demon, known as the most suitable amongst the demons to be a ruler.
From ancient times, arch-demons always had higher chances of becoming the ruler of demons, due to their innate ability to command demons. But this didn't stop the other demons from fighting for the throne, and there were many instances where the ruler was just a strong demon, with a race much inferior to an arch-demon.
Prior to Vesco, a sea demon of different races used to be the emperor until he lost his position to Vesco in the battle for the throne that comes every decade.
Ever since then, Vesco has been in power, and he even managed to cross the third cycle of power (300 level mark), making him one of the strongest in the contest for the throne. He was practically invincible and had been ruling over the abyss for seventeen decades without losing once.
His elegant look didn't match his fiery temperament during combat, making everyone who truly knew him crouch in fear and give up on the throne.
Of course, not all of them were so fearful. Most of Vesco's descendants have joined the race for the throne of the abyss. Many of the generals and children of the generals have also steeled their resolve for the upcoming battle for the throne.
In all this, the current emperor, Vesco Komnen Lazovic was still very relaxed, as if he didn't fear anyone trying to snatch his throne. This attitude annoyed the others who were working hard day and night to be able to compete for the throne.
Days were passing by very normally, with each day being similar to the other until a feeble and weak human somehow managed to enter the abyss.
Although the human was relatively weak, his aura immediately reminded Vesco of an old friend.
'Dulwak…'
Vesco, who was currently sitting on his throne, slowly muttered as a smile formed on his lips.
'Have you succeeded? Or have you failed? This is the first time I want to lose a bet that I made with you.'
The emperor of the abyss, and the legendary hero of humanity, once used to be the best of friends. Nobody would believe the tale if someone spoke about it, but it was the truth.
They had gone to the same academy, travelled together and also defeated many evil forces together.
But the world only remembered the name Dulwak, while the name Vesco was forgotten in the pages of history. Of course, Vesco never asked for his rightful recognition, he couldn't care less about it. What he cared about was a promise and a bet that his old friend, Dulwak and him had made together.
The promise was to become the emperor of the abyss and close it off from the inside out. So that no one in the world remembers the dangers that lay inside the abyss, and they could protect the people living on the land. The seal that closed off the abyss was created by combining the powers of both Dulwak and Vesco, and only with their interference could someone go in and out of the abyss.
On the other hand, the bet was…
Vesco looked at the ceiling of the grand throne room, and his golden eyes pierced through the fabric of space as he looked directly at Shura and his gang.
'Poor Ena.'
For the first time in decades, the emperor of the abyss was feeling emotions while looking at the lives of others. The residents of the abyss knew that Vesco was the strongest being of the abyss and had crossed the third cycle of power. What nobody knew was that Vesco had long since crossed the fourth cycle of power and was nearing his fifth cycle. Not only was he the strongest in the abyss, but he was also one of the strongest people in the whole central continent.

'A name, huh.'
I stared at the violet-coloured slime with two lines for eyes.
'What should I name you?'
It was a tough task for me. I was very bad at naming things and that's why I had named my class Enigma, which basically meant mysterious. If it were up to me, I'd call this little slime an Enigma too.
~~No!~~
'Oh, you're getting proficient in saying small words.'
It seems the slime doesn't want the Enigma name, how sad. After thinking for a while, I finally came up with another name.
'How about we call you Slime!'
~~Oh, C'mon.~~
~~Lame.~~
Both Bloodsong and the Slime retorted. What? It was such a good name! What better name to call a slime than slime itself!
After getting rejected twice, I felt like my ego would be shattered if I didn't come up with a good name.
'Hmmmmmm… how about… Drew?'
~~Drew!~~
The slime excitedly repeated the name.
'Do you finally like it?'
~~Drew! Drew!~~
Now don't act like a Pikachu.
~~This name is much better.~~
Even Bloodsong gave his approval.
"Okay then, from today onwards, your name is Drew!"
[Do you want to confirm the name 'Drew' for the Primordial Slime?]
'Yes.'
[The Primordial Slime is now bound to your soul.]
[A separate 'Pet Inventory' has been unlocked!]
[The current capacity of your pet inventory is 2.]
[The bond between you and 'Drew' has benefitted both of you.]
[Drew's level has increased by +10.]
[Drew has unlocked the following basic stats:
Strength
Intelligence
Vitality
Slither]
[All of Drew's basic stats, apart from Vitality, have been increased by +50.]
[Due to Drew's 'Immortal' vital status, Drew's Vitality has maxed out!]
[Note: Drew won't benefit from the additional physical and magical defence from the vitality stat due to not having a proper physical body.]
[Your level has increased by +2.]
[Drew's infinite vitality is benefitting you!]
[Vitality +50
HP +10000]
[You and Drew can now grow stronger together and will share exp every time one of you gains experience.]
"....."
What was I? I don't know. Do I care? Yes, I do. Is Drew awesome? He's fucking lit!
Why am I thinking in a questionnaire format? Again, I don't know.
The unexpected gain of the primordial slime, about whom I didn't have an idea, was a very big boon for me.
Granted that the loss of experience every time would slow me down, but once Drew grows strong enough, I could just let him hunt, and I would still gain experience! It was like I had gained another pair of arms that worked on their own!
I've decided to treat Drew as a 'he' because, why not? It was convenient.
"Hey Drew, jump!"
~~Master, I am not a puppy…~~
'He grew up so fast, he doesn't even listen to his master anymore!'
~~.....~~
'I am just kidding, don't be upset.'
~~I am not upset, you're upset that I am not a puppy.~~
—-Cough!
I coughed a little to avoid the embarrassment and looked toward the others who have been looking at me like I was an idiot.
"Hey, Kai. Glad to see that you're alive."
"Haha! Shura! In the end, you kept your promise."
He was talking about the promise to save his daughter and the Rewan village.
"Well, I would feel guilty for the rest of my life if I didn't do it."
"You're just too kind."
'Yeah, sure I am.'
I remarked sarcastically inside my head but just smiled on the outside.
"Shura, will you cook the fried fish for me again? I swear I was eating your fish stew in my dreams when I died."
The little ogre, Kris said, making everyone inside the hut chuckle.
"Sure big guy, I'll cook for everyone once again. But this will be the last time, you better watch and learn so you can cook on your own next time!"
I could hear a groan escape Kris's mouth, but he soon became happy about getting to eat my food one more time.
~~Uh, master, I just wanted to tell you. My name is Andrew. Can you stop calling me Bloodsong? That's the name of the dagger, not my name.~~
Suddenly Bloodsong, who introduced himself as Andrew, said.
'What? Andrew? Drew? I am not calling you Andrew after I have just named my slime Drew. You have to adjust with Bloodsong. Or wait, I'll just call you Song! Be happy.'
~~.....~~
[Do you wish to name the ego of 'Bloodsong' as 'Song'?]
'Yes.'
~~Noooooooo!~~
~~I pity you, 'Song'. Kek~~
The slime laughed evilly as he teased Bloodsong, now named Song.
