Chapter 277 The Thing She's Afraid Of
Kira was enraged upon witnessing this scene. Dylan was hugging Marceline tightly and she was just letting him do that. Kira had been searching for her, worried-sick about her.
He was going nuts for not seeing her the whole night. And now, he would see another man embracing her as if there was no tomorrow.
He was very jealous! Without waiting for the two people to respond, Kira marched forward, separating the two. But instead of getting mad, Dylan felt so glad to see Kira. if Marceline was his real sister then it was given that Kira was his brother-in-law!
"Bro, you are finally here! Please don't be jealous. You have no reason to get jealous. Sis and I are not doing anything," Dylan greeted Kira with his exhilarated voice. Only Marceline remained quiet. She was anxious and nervous. She hadn't recovered yet from the revelation she got.
Dylan told her that she was his missing twin sister. The birthmark appeared on the back of her neck. But she was wondering why Dylan didn't see that mark before. And there was a coincidence. Her wolf's name was Stella and Dylan's twin sister was named Stella as well.
She had to ask Stella about it. Was Dylan truly her twin brother? Does it mean… she was Serena's and Dominique's daughter? If that was the case, then Kira would hate her! She was the fruit of her mother's betrayal on Kira!
Marceline felt like her body became weak. Every ounce of her energy was drained from her. How would she tell this to Kira?
'Stella? Are you there? Are you listening to me?' Marceline called Stella in her subconscious while Dylan was busy talking to Kira, convincing him that nothing was going on between them. He didn't have to misunderstand their relationship.
'Yes, I'm here…' Stella responded to her cheerfully. Stella finally recovered from the poison of the vampire's bite and she sounded very cheerful and lively today.
'Stella, I wanna ask–', Marceline was not able to finish her sentence when Stella interjected her words.
'We found them… our family. He is our brother!' Stella confirmed it. She could feel the twin bond of their wolves. Stella and Lan-Lan were connected to each other.
Marceline was put in a great dilemma when she heard that. She glanced at Kira with a troubled expression on her charming face. She felt like crying and her heart was being squeezed tightly inside her chest.
'No! This can't be… This will be another reason for us… not to be together…'
Marceline's lips trembled. She couldn't utter a word. She has a look of despair in her eyes. Her tears threatened to fall from the corners of her eyes. Both Kira and Dylan noticed her misty eyes.
"What's wrong?" Kira closed their gaps, pulling her into a warm hug.
Because of that hug, Marceline was not able to control her emotions. She burst into tears, crying in Kira's arms. Kira and Dylan exchanged glances with one another, wondering who made Marceline cry.
"I'm sorry, My Lady. I came too late. Are you hurt somewhere? It's my fault for leaving you alone at home. You should punish me. But please don't cry," Kira apologized to her while comforting her.
"Sis, don't cry. Kira and I are not fighting with each other," Dylan butted in.
Kira shot Dylan a deathly glare. He wanted him to get out and just leave them alone.
"Don't call her, Sis! She is not your sister!" Kira scowled at Dylan.
But Dylan just laughed at Kira's remarks. "You are wrong, Bro. In fact, I'm your real brother-in-law! I'm Marceline's brother!"
"Dylan!" Marceline yelled at her brother. She was not yet ready to reveal the truth to Kira but her blabbering brother revealed the truth to Kira.
Kira narrowed his eyes when he heard that. He let go of Marceline. Then he darted his gaze back and forth between Dylan and Marceline.
"What did you just say?" Kira asked them again, confusion resurfacing in his eyes.
Meanwhile, Dylan shut his mouth as he sensed that he said something he was not supposed to. Marceline didn't look good. Her face was drained with color as she became pale.
She lowered her head, avoiding Kira's gaze. She couldn't look straight into his eyes. She didn't have the courage to tell him that she was the daughter of his first love and his mortal enemy. She felt sorry for Kira. She knew his pain and she felt that she was a contributor to that pain.
"Kira… I'm sorry," Marceline mumbled, before pushing him away. Without looking back, Marceline ran away as fast as she could.
"Marceline!"
"Sis!"
Both Dylan and Kira called her name in unison. They tried to stop and follow her. But Marceline already disappeared even before they could catch up with her. How is that possible? When did she become so fast?
Since the two men were left behind, Kira grabbed Dylan's shoulder to interrogate him. "What the hell did you just say a while ago? Why are you talking some nonsense? Marceline is not related to you!" Kira was fuming with rage.
This time, Dylan had become serious. "Do you really love Marceline?"
"You don't have the right to question that." Kira spat back at him.
"I have all the rights… because she is my sister! Now, I will ask you again. Will you still love her even if she is different from you?" Dylan was starting to believe his father's words. What if Kira was a vampire? Was that the reason why something seemed off to Marceline when Kira arrived? She looked like she was afraid about something and she didn't want Kira to find out her real relationship with Dylan.
Kira was stupefied. He didn't know what to say. Was Dylan telling the truth? He knew that the Stella in their house was just an impostor so it was not impossible if Dylan would claim that Marceline was his twin sister.
"What made you think that she is your sister?" Kira asked him expectantly.
"Our birthmark! She has the same birthmark as mine. And we feel connected to each other."
SMASH!
Kira punched the wall as soon as he heard that. "No! You are lying!"
Dylan: "..."
Dylan froze. He was surprised to see the real strength of Kira. The wall behind him collapsed in just one punch from Kira.
