Chapter 214: God statue descent
Chapter 214: God statue descent
Puff!
Lucien spat out a mouthful of blood and all the golden spirit beasts flying around were recalled into the anomaly, after which the gate vanished almost immediately. His face was terribly pale and he almost fell off the sky, if not for his Phoenix god beast avatar supporting him.
"Heal" Lucien muttered weakly as the blue Phoenix flames engulfed his entire body burning him for several minutes while Derik wiped out what was left of the Creed forces! He made sure no one survived and made sure to resurrect the corpses of the enemies, meanwhile, he greedily consumed the souls of the dead on the battlefield. He considered using this as nourishment to reach the spirit realm but doing it in the open will attract the wrong type of attention and when the time finally comes, he may end up gaining the wrong attention.
"We will hold back a bit till this mission is over" Derik said as he walked towards the enemy stronghold, leaving Lucien behind. He had seen Emperor Fei use the Phoenix flames to heal even the worse injuries so he knew he would be fine. In fact, he never thought that this was the lad's plan.
"He is as reckless as they come" Derik commented almost absentmindedly as he walked past the walls of the stronghold with over fourteen thousand undead armies following him tightly behind. Even though one thousand out of the thirteen thousand were Luciens demonic beasts, they still showed Derik respect and followed his order religiously!
Entering the stronghold, Derik saw a normal army camp with almost no difference from the regular military camp at the far end of the stronghold, at the foot of a mountain was a massive purple portal glowing brightly. That should be enough to attract Derik's attention but what really got his attention was the human statue at the center of the camp.
The statue was that of a man whose face was covered with a good, dressed in a robe and since it wasn't colored, Derik couldn't bring up more details. He contemplated if this is the statue of the creed leader and he wished its facial features were revealed.
"You are an anomaly... You shouldn't be here!" Derik had already walked past the statue when he heard those words and he turned around. He gazed at the statue and saw it looking ad him with blazing white eyes within the hood! Visible mana circuits could be seen all over the body of the statue and Derik understood what was going on.
"God's descent... You reach this place through a statue dedicated to your worship... Gods are quite difficult to evade" Derik yawned and the statue frowned.
Even when standing in front of him, Derik treated him like air and he could understand why. Apart from Rakuzen, Derik has reached the highest level a cultivator can reach within this realm! His strength is unfathomable and the annoying thing was that even in his new body, his limits are yet to show, throughout the battle.
"Last time I checked... Using God's descent on a statue, you can only showcase ten to twenty percent of your true strength... Meanwhile using god descent on a living being, you can show power purely based on the person's capabilities... Do you think you can win against me with twenty percent of your strength?" Derik asked with a raised eyebrow and a clenched fist.
His shadow expanded and all thirteen thousand undead armies returned to his shadow while the one thousand belonging to Lucien backed away slowly. As a man who was once a god, he knew these gods could permanently kill anything below their level, including the undead so he had no intentions of letting this being wipe out the army he worked so hard to gain!
"Yes..." The creed leader responded decisively!
Hearing this Derik frowned. He knew almost nothing about the enemy and how he operates. He knew nothing about this man's pathway and how his power works. All he knew is that this man fought a god and survived! Almost reaching the realm of gods!
"Just Lucien and I are more than enough to deal with your army and defensive formations... When the Drakon empire forces arrive, do you really think you can stop us and their army?" Derik rephrased the question and this time he asked with a clenched fist.
He was getting this ominous bad feeling about something but he didn't know what.
"The Drakon empire forces will not be coming.. They have been dealt with... Ambush points were set up the stop the armies of the three empires, what I didn't expect is that the Fotia and Libet empire would be crazy enough to just send two people... That way you escaped the ambush point without knowing it... Lucky you... Or should I say unlucky?" The creed statue said with an amused tone making Derik frown.
It what this man said then they were truly lucky to have decided to come here alone but were they truly lucky?
"And what stops you from recalling the force and have them flank us from behind now? That way there is nowhere for us to go" Derik asked.
"Like I said before... I can guess the limitations of Lucien Rakzuen but you are an unknown factor... You do not belong to this world... Sending the army here is just me blustering your already large army of the undead... Should I let something like this happen, you won't need anyone's help to find the creed and overwhelm us with sheer numbers... I will just have to keep my conflict with you at the barest minimum until I can find a way to deal with you properly" The creed leader spoke.
"That sounds nice but I'm guessing that doesn't mean you will let me enter this dungeon without a fight... Right?" Derik asked.
"If I can kill you here... The creed's plan will progress by a huge leap so no, I won't give up on this opportunity" The statue said as it entered a fighting stance.
