My Fenrir System: Heir To The End

Chapter 13: Strange Dream

Chapter 13: Strange Dream

After being left alone in the room, he continued to eat quietly, thinking about what to do once he was released from the hospital.

He looked over at the television set tuned to the news channel, where they seemed to be talking about the incident that had occurred during the test. He turned up the volume to listen to the news they were saying:

[In an unprecedented event in the monster area where the hunters' association conducts its trials, a desolate situation has broken out after an unexpected event that has shocked the hunting community and conservation experts.

Half of the forest has been rendered lifeless, according to sources, due to the powerful roar of an unknown beast, thus depriving it of its vitality.

Despite exhaustive hours of investigation by experts, absolutely nothing was found. The only thing they could state was:

"After an exhaustive investigation with our experts, in this place, 'never' will life sprout."

So they declared after long hours of investigation.

Most of the ordinary people who heard this news were relieved and happy, as they would no longer have to worry or fear a possible monster attack.

However, the newly awakened were not at all happy with this announcement, as they would be forced to travel to another city to take the test. In short, opinions were divided.

Despite the comments and opinions of both the common people and the newly awakened, the experts did not know the reason for this phenomenon and even set up a laboratory at the site to investigate the cause of what happened...]

"Wow, I didn't expect the incident to be so big!"

Erik was surprised to see the news, but he didn't quite believe it, because he knew that part of it was a lie.

'Well, what matters is that I'm alive.'

He doesn't much care what happened. What he doesn't know is that this was all caused by him, even if he didn't know it.

Erik changed the channel and put on a cartoon so he wouldn't be bored all afternoon staring at the ceiling in the room.

Besides, like anyone else, hunter or not, he had completely forgotten to check the contents of the daily mission.

Well, it was understandable that he had forgotten, considering that with Leon's arrival, he talked about the incident, and when they left he heard the news of what happened at the test site.

It was obvious that his mind would have been focused on that!

Besides, he's not like those characters in novels who don't forget anything after acquiring some kind of power or system. Just a week ago he was a completely normal person, it is understandable that sometimes he gets distracted, after all, he is only twenty years old.

Time went by, and now and then I would burst out laughing at the cartoons.

There was one of a cat chasing a sly mouse, who always got away with it.

There was also the one of a pink panther who wouldn't say a word just to the background music which was, 'Turun~ Turun~ Turun~ Turun~ Turun~ Turun~ Turun~ Turun~ Turun~...', and the one of a rabbit who, upon appearing, would let out his classic, "What's new Old Man?"

He spent the whole afternoon immersed in the cartoons until Paula came in again to change his bandages and leave his food.

Paula was very surprised to see the handsome patient recovering so quickly, seeing the condition he was in.

When he was admitted to the hospital, he was covered in cuts all over his body, which normally take a month or more to heal.

However, in this patient's case, it only took him a few hours to heal almost completely.

'Unbelievable, now I understand what my friend says'.

Paula now understands, why her friend was so surprised with this patient.

'To think that besides being handsome, he is also special.'

She finished changing the bandages and when she was at the door to leave the had.

"We don't see~"

Paula gave him a flirtatious smile and a sultry voice, she left the room.

"... We don't see?"

Erik gave her a strange look, but quickly grasped the nurse's intentions.

'What a waste, because of me.'

He felt bitter, catching the chips the nurse threw at him because he didn't have a little friend enough to do anything with the nurse.

He decided not to think too much about his misfortune, and continued watching television, until the mental fatigue accumulated during this short period set in.

He turned off everything in the room, and soon after he fell fast asleep, like a baby.

"Where am I?"

Erik looked around in confusion. The place he was in was completely strange; he had never been in a similar place before.

The place was somewhat peculiar.

He recognized having experienced something like this before; it was the same color as when his eyes suddenly changed.

The whole place was black and white, but the tones were perfectly balanced against each other, like Yin and Yang.

But he realized something important: in that place, there was no wind, and it seemed that time did not exist.

"So where the hell am I?"

Moreover, he felt that the system had nothing to do with what he was experiencing at that moment.

It was as if I was related to him somehow, but I also felt a connection to this place with no idea why.

"Phew... if I stay here, I won't get anywhere."

He began to move around the peculiar place curiously and nervously, to see what this strange place had in store for him.

After a while, which in that place seemed nonexistent, Erik began to feel like he was going around in circles.

"Phew... I seem to be going around in circles."

Erik held his head in discomfort as he looked up and realized that nothing had changed at all.

He felt increasingly disoriented after what seemed to be endless twists and turns. So, he decided to stand still one more time.

RETUMBLE!

"Huh? What's going on?"

Erik was alerted when he suddenly felt a strong tremor. He looked down and saw that everything under his feet was shaking violently.

RETUMBLE!

The tremor under his feet intensified, and the place he was in began to split in two as the seconds passed.

Seeing this, Erik started to run to avoid falling into the huge black hole forming in the ground, but he was not fast enough to escape.

"?Uwaaaaaa!"

Plaf.

When he finished falling, Erik felt no pain as he hit something resembling a floor.

As he got up, he realized he was in an even more surreal place than a few moments ago.

He found himself in a beautiful and huge field that was completely white, with flowers of different black shapes. The whole place was completely white, the flowers being the only black things in that strange landscape.

"Besides, I feel the wind!"

He noticed how a gentle breeze caressed his face.

Guided by his curiosity, he began to walk through the field of flowers for a few seconds, until he reached a place where he found the figure of a gigantic wolf completely white, lying down and seemed to be sleeping patiently.

Next to the giant all-black wolf, there was an all-black 'Something' with a huge all-black scythe.

When the giant all-white wolf and that 'Something' sensed his presence, they turned their gazes towards him. When he fixed his gaze on those two beings...

"?!"

And in an instant he found himself back in the hospital room, a cold sweat running down his back and forehead.

"Haa... haa... what the hell was that dream?"

Erik sat up in bed, his breathing labored, from the dream.

"Haa... in less than a month I have experienced so many things one after another, but if it wasn't for this Fenrir system, I would have never experienced this."

Letting out a long tired sigh, he looked up at the clock on the wall that read 23:59:56 pm, he decided to close his eyes to continue sleeping.

But before he fell asleep, when the clock struck 12:00:00, something appeared in front of him, something he had forgotten and which was quite important.

Tti-ring.

[You failed to complete the daily mission! You will be transferred to $"#&&&???$ for the next four hours].

"Oh, hell, I had completely forgotten about this!"

Erik realized that he hadn't even checked the contents of the mission.

At that moment, everything around him began to distort, somewhat similar to when he entered the dungeon with Adam's group.

When he came to, he found himself in what appeared to be a coliseum, he was in the center, and in front of him, a humanoid figure clad in armor.

"What is this place?"

Erik is puzzled to find himself in this place, looking around cautiously.

He expected to find himself in a forest or even a desert, but he never imagined that he would be transported to some kind of coliseum.

He fails to understand the reason why the system has brought him to this place.

'Well, what should I do in this place?'

And as he thought that, the information window appeared in front of him.

Tti-ring.

[Penalty Mission: Confront the %$-"&?]

Objective: Confront the %$-"&??, during the allotted time.

Time limit: 4 hours

Time remaining: 4 hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds

? Warning: Do not leave the coliseum during the allotted time or you will die!

Once he finished reading the contents of the penalty mission, he quickly pulled out his spear.

However, as he did so, his whole world was turned upside down.

"Huh?"

Erik was puzzled because everything was upside down, and what surprised him most was the realization that his body was completely out of alignment, not responding to his commands.

'Why is my body not responding?'

His body did not respond to any of his commands, and it seemed as if he was not connected until his vision began to darken, and he realized that he was on the ground, looking at his feet.

Then he realized that his head had been severed from his body.

'Did I just die?'
