My Fenrir System: Heir To The End

Chapter 21: Leaving the dungeon

Chapter 21: Leaving the dungeon

Finished with the spider and the traitors, the place is all destroyed, as if a big fight had happened: the floor is stained with the blood of both the monster and Erik and the others, a crater, and huge rocks scattered everywhere.

Once she finished inspecting the place, Violet was still surprised, she could hardly believe that they had defeated the boss monster and that both of them had come out almost unharmed.

"Well, what do we do now?" He asked, as his eyes moved around the place.

"Let's pick up the bag with the mana stones and get the hell out of here," Erik replied, heading towards where Thomas' bag was. He felt a chill in his stomach as he registered the spider attack.

'I need armor to prevent this from happening again.'

At that moment, Erik understood the importance of wearing armor. If it weren't for completing the mission, he would now be lining up to erase his memories and go through the reincarnation cycle as a completely new person.

On the other hand, Violet couldn't believe how calm he seemed to Erik. He had just killed the son of the president of a growing guild.

How could he be so calm? Didn't he realize that he was now the enemy of an entire guild?

"How can you be so calm? You are now the enemy of an entire guild" Violet asked surprised by Erik's calmness.

It seemed as if he was unaware of the gravity of the current situation, which was not good at all.

Erik se detuvo y la miró directamente con expresión neutral.

"How will they know it was me who killed him if there are no cameras in the dungeons? No sense worrying about that right now."

Erik pointed out something obvious, how are they going to know it was him who killed the son of the Luminis guild president if there are no cameras in the dungeons.

Violet attended in agreement because it was true, but that wasn't what was important right now.

"... You still don't seem to get it. As I just said, that guy's father is the 'President' of an emerging guild. It would be easy for him to get information about your son's movements. So it would be easy for him to find out that you were in the same dungeon as his son and that you are alive while his son doesn't return " Violet explained.

"Violet, you seem to be forgetting something important..." Erik said.

"What am I forgetting?" Violet asked confused.

"You and I are in the same boat. So relax and focus on getting stronger before problems arise," Erik said.

He stressed a crucial point: he was not alone in this; the two of them were in the same situation.

The guild president would not ask, "Was it you who killed my dear son?"

It is obvious that he would eliminate the two survivors. Given his power and influence, it only remained for Erik and Violet to grow stronger before he learned of his son's death.

Violet was silent when it dawned on her. She hadn't realized that she was also involved in this problem.

"Shit, how had I not realized that before?" She exclaimed in frustration as she realized that she was now fully involved in this matter.

But now there was another problem: how could they defend themselves against an entire guild when they were barely E-ranked hunters?

"And, how will we defend ourselves against them if we only have rank E?"

Erik answered with another question, "How do hunters get stronger?"

"By hunting monsters and absorbing mana stones, which are like their core, where the magic power is contained," Violet explained.

"There you have the answer to your question. We just need to strengthen ourselves by absorbing the mana stones, so we won't be caught off guard when trouble arises" Erik said, in an obvious way.

'Besides, I have a system that helps me get stronger faster, than a normal hunter.'

Violet fell silent again. She acknowledged that the answers she was given were correct, but she felt that she was losing her intelligence to these people. She decided not to think about it anymore.

"Yes, you're right, but how are we going to do it? You know it's not easy, since most of the dungeons are guarded," Violet pointed out, the problem of how to become stronger.

"That's true, but now the association is very overwhelmed because of what happened in the testing area. They need to clean the dungeons regularly to avoid a collapse," Erik said as he extracted a mana stone from the huge spider.

"We can also use this to delve into various dungeons and get stronger," he added, tossing the mana stone to Violet.

Violet took the stone with a confused expression. She didn't understand Erik's intention of giving the mana stone to the boss monster.

"Why are you giving it to me?" She asked confused.

"So you can absorb it," Erik replied, shaking himself and tidying up the bag full of mana stones Thomas had picked up on the way to the boss's lair.

"But are you sure?" Violet hesitated.

"Violet now is not the time to hesitate. If you don't absorb it, you'll die, since you won't be able to defend yourself. And if you're worried about money, we have this bag full of mana stones," Erik said seriously.

Violet, realizing that she was right, did not hesitate any longer and pressed hard on the mana stone, which filled the entire lair of the boss with mana particles of many colors. Quickly, she closed her eyes, adopting the lotus position, and began to absorb all the particles inside.

Erik watched all this like a small child contemplating fireworks for the first time. His eyes could perceive how the particles moved slowly in a harmonious way as if they were dancing as they entered Violet's body.

The mana particles, upon entering Violet's body, were transformed into magical power. As she was a mage, all that magical power was concentrated in her heart, which was her core.

In the case of hunters who specialize in close combat, their core is located in the lower abdomen. It is very similar to how Murim martial artists add 'Ki' to their dantian. However, for mages and healers, their core is in the heart.

Realizing that it would take Violet a while, Erik diverted his attention to the notification windows that had appeared when he regained consciousness.

After reading them all, a big smile lit up his face as he discovered everything he had won. Without a second thought, he opened the rewards.

When the notification windows finish appearing in Erik's hand, a sword appears that seems to be shrouded in eternal darkness. He looks at this in amazement, but quickly puts it away in the inventory, so that when he gets home he can take a good look at it and says excitedly:

"Status window."

Erik was completely paralyzed at the sight, although the window did not change much, its contents did. He now knew his affiliation. A new section that said 'class' also appeared and in addition, the Fenrir Store was now available.

But what surprised Erik the most was his affiliation, although he expected something similar from its titles, reading it directly was very different to think about it...

'Then, I will bring the End'.

With this thought, a smile appeared on Erik's face. He liked the idea of destroying.

Did he care if humans were affected?

Of course, he didn't!

Another thing he realized was that he no longer saw himself as human after the wolf roared in his mind.

'But why did they give me a sword now?'

This was what confused Erik. Now he didn't understand why he was being given a sword, but he decided not to think too much about this and concentrated on the reward that said 'Flames of Helheim'.

Erik closed his eyes and summoned the flames. A black fire with purple tones appeared in his hand, but instead of emitting heat, it was completely cold.

This surprised them a little, and as he tried to continue looking at what he had obtained, he felt Violet open her eyes.

He closed all the windows in front of him and walked over to her.

"How are you feeling?" Erik asked, stopping in front of her.

"I feel pretty good, although I'm a little short of moving up to D rank," Violet replied, a little disappointed. She was about to move up a rank, but she wasn't going to complain, as this mana stone was very useful.

"And how close are you to the next rank?"

"I think I'm three mana stones short, at most."

Erik pulled five mana stones from his bag and handed them to her.

Violet squeezed them without much thought and began to absorb them quickly. As she absorbed the mana, she felt her bones strengthen and her core expand.

Sweat beaded on her forehead as she absorbed what she lacked. After a few minutes, Violet opened her eyes again and felt her body brimming with magical power.

'Wow, I didn't expect the difference to be so great,' Violet thought, feeling stronger.

"Shall we go?" Erik asked.

"Yes, let's go," Violet replied getting up from the ground and shaking her body a little.

So they began to leave the dungeon to go and sell the mana stones.
