Chapter 5: The gifts just keep on coming!
As they walked through the grand halls of the mansion, Rose explained, "Consider it a small package from me to you, Mr. Shelton. It's my way of making sure you are taken care of. This way, you can respond without delay anytime I call on you."
Blake felt a chill run down his spine at her words, the undertone of possessiveness sending a shiver through him.
As Rose decided to take her leave, Blake walked her out of his new house. The grand entrance seemed to extend an unspoken invitation for her to return whenever she pleased.
But to his surprise, after bidding Miss Rose goodbye, a different car pulled up in front of the garage.
The sleek, midnight-black car glided to a smooth stop in front of the grand entrance, radiating an aura of understated luxury. Its polished exterior gleamed under the ambient lights, and the tinted windows concealed the mysteries within.
As the driver emerged from the vehicle, he executed a precise bow, addressing Miss Rose Shelley with an unexpected title, "My lord, the keys".
The shock registered on Blake's face, his eyes widening in disbelief. "Lord?" he muttered under his breath, unable to reconcile the image of the elegant, enigmatic CEO with a title traditionally associated with nobility.
The discrepancy left him momentarily stunned, the pieces of the puzzle refusing to align in his mind.
He hesitated as Miss Rose gracefully handed him the key to the new car, her departure leaving him with a whirlwind of questions and an unsettling sense that the world he had just stepped into was far more intricate than he could have ever imagined.
The driver, a tall and impeccably dressed figure, stood by the new car with an air of professionalism.
His suit, a perfect complement to the luxurious vehicle, bore not a single crease, and his posture exuded confidence and efficiency. His features were composed, revealing little emotion, as if he were a guardian of secrets.
As Blake stood there, still holding the keys that Miss Rose had entrusted him, the driver broke the silence, addressing him respectfully, "Boss, would you like to head somewhere?"
The term "Boss" echoed in the air, causing Blake to snap out of his daze. He glanced at the driver, a mixture of surprise and uncertainty in his expression.
Blake, still processing the surreal turn of events, looked at the sleek car before him, then back at the driver. His expression a mix of disbelief and curiosity, he hesitated before finally asking, "Is this... uh, a Mercedes Benz G-Class, or am I just tripping here?".
The driver maintained his composed demeanor, responding with a subtle nod. "Indeed, it is, Boss. The real deal, a Mercedes Benz G-Class."
Blake blinked, the reality sinking in. He muttered to himself, "Just a regular guy with a boss, a mansion, and apparently, a Mercedes G-Class." The absurdity of it all left him questioning whether this was some elaborate dream or an unexpected twist in the script of his life.
As Blake stood there, keys in hand, he couldn't shake the feeling that the reality he found himself in was a bit too surreal. It didn't make sense—less than three days ago, he was a regular guy preparing for a job interview, and now he owned a mansion, a luxury car, and seemingly had a whole new life thrust upon him.
Doubt crept into his thoughts. Could it be that Miss Rose was into some shady dealings? Perhaps human trafficking or even money rituals and he was unwittingly becoming a part of it? Paranoia settled in, and his imagination started conjuring scenarios of money rituals and sinister plots.
Unable to ignore the nagging suspicion, Blake decided he needed answers. He pulled out his phone, intending to call Miss Rose, thank her, and politely return the lavish gifts she had bestowed upon him. Thoughts of quitting his job and running as far away as possible began to take root.
However, just as he was about to dial her number, a buzz interrupted his train of thought.
His screen illuminated with a message alert:
\\[Credit alert - 100,000 dollars\\]
Blake's eyes widened, shock replacing the paranoia. A sudden influx of wealth, as if materializing out of thin air, left him baffled. The message confirmed that a substantial sum had been credited to his account.
His fingers trembled as he scrolled through the notification, unable to comprehend the sudden change in his financial status.
"What in the actual fuck?!!!!" ....
Confusion and disbelief wrestled for dominance within him. Was this a mistake? Was it hush money, a bribe to keep him silent about some unknown truth? Or perhaps it was part of some elaborate scheme that he hadn't yet grasped.
His mind whirred with uncertainty, and as he stared at the message on his phone, the decision to confront Miss Rose transformed into a more complex dilemma.
The allure of wealth mingled with a sense of foreboding, leaving Blake standing at a crossroads of a life-altering choice.
So he did the only thing that made the most sense to him.
Put his phone back into his pocket and gave the keys to the driver.
"Take me to the bank,"
