Necropolis Immortal

Chapter 2225.1: Where Has the World of Immortals Gone

Chapter 2225.1: Where Has the World of Immortals Gone

“Failure?” Tai Sui looked at him as he would an idiot. “Any one of the five immortal emperors might die, but he will never die!”

In this moment, he was certain that the young man in front of him was the real northern immortal emperor, not a reincarnation or anything else! That unforgettable impression of terror was etched into his very soul.

……

“I’ll be able to see through the truths and falsehoods of the Formation Hall if I can elevate the Eye of Nullification into the Heavenly Eye. It’s a pity that I can’t do so right now.” Lu Yun sighed inwardly once his nascent soul returned—he didn’t plan on provoking the entity draining the treasures anymore. It could devour even the nascent soul of immortal kings. What could a tiny Lu Yun do to it?

He’d have to be a chaos immortal to accomplish anything.

“Apart from the seed storage that we cannot access, there is nothing else in this vast hall,” Xia Houwan concluded with resignation after exploring the building structure that was fifty kilometers from end to end. “The real treasures should be inside the seed storage, but we can’t get inside without the key.”

The hat was magnificent, opulent, and regal, but completely empty. There were only nine bare pillars made of stark-white stone. Three meters thick and bereft of qi, they held up the roof of the hall. Many cultivators had already studied them and found them worthless.

“Perhaps there’s an incredibly domineering vicious spirit inside the seed storage…” Yu Hen offered.

“Pfft!” Xia Houwan offered a rude gesture to the prince. “What do you think, ole brother Lu?”

“This doesn’t seem to be a nice place, we should go.” Lu Yun smacked his lips meaningfully.

“Cowards!” Xia Houwan shrugged. “Fine, let’s go!”

It was a very strange place; an eerie air suffused the sumptuous building. Cultivators didn’t wish to make a return visit after entering once.

“What a pity there’s nothing else here apart from these useless stone pillars,” Xia Houwan grumbled. He punched the nearest pillar to vent his frustration.

Hummmm!

The pillar cracked and golden radiance spilled forth from it. Gentle and mild, it enveloped Xia Houwan before anyone could react. He stood slack-jawed in the golden light, entering a profound state of mind.

“What is this?!” Yu Hen was about to drag Xia Houwan out of the radiance when Lu Yun stopped him.

“Don’t disturb him, this is his fortuitous opportunity!” The Lu young master kicked away the closest cultivator to the nine pillars.

“Throw all of the other cultivators out of here! Kill whoever dares touch the stone pillars!” the prince instantly shouted at his men. The mysteries of this Sagittarii Hall were likely contained in the stone pillars, but Yu Hen wasn’t certain if they were one entity. Thus, he didn’t touch the pillars and instead gave the command to clear the area.

But how would cultivators leave without protest when they saw an opportunity was at hand? They approached the stone pillar closest to them; some even threw out their flying swords from several kilometers away, wanting to smash the pillars.

The great hall was fifty meters wide. As impressive as the prince’s men might be, they were unable to immediately herd everyone out.

“Die!” Yu Hen wasn’t a kind and gentle soul; violence flared in his eyes to see cultivators defy his command.

Great Xia’s Iron Dragons were the most elite force of Great Xia royalty. They gathered all of the geniuses from the worlds to create a troop of cultivators that was loyal to the royal family alone. Being cultivators, the guards were able to enter zones off limits to immortals to carry out their missions. No matter where they were placed, each of the Iron Dragons was a premier powerhouse.

Three dozen expressionless guards sent sword light flying from their weapons and executed several cultivators blasting the stone pillars. Many of the pillars still broke, however, and golden brilliance filled the hall.

Hum hum hum hum hum…

Loud reverberations echoed through the hall as rays of golden light surged out of the broken pillars. They collected together and flew toward Xia Houwan! He was the first one to absorb the light, resulting in the remaining radiance recognizing only him.

All nine pillars were shattered in a few short breaths and nine rays of golden light circulated around the man. an image of a golden immortal residence slowly coalesced over his head.

“So it’s the residence of the Nine Radiance Immortal King! Xia Houwan’s a lucky one, alright.” An imperceptible smile spread over Lu Yun’s face. The Nine Radiance Immortal King answered to the southern immortal emperor’s banner. While he was weaker than the Undying Immortal King, he was still a premier immortal king like the five inauspicious stars.

But he’d died for unknown reasons when Lu Yun was still in the world of immortals and his residence gone missing as well. So the southern immortal emperor had refined the core essence of his residence in the stone pillars of Sagittarrii Hall!

Xia Houwan must share a joint destiny with it as he wouldn’t have broken the pillar with a casual touch otherwise. No one could stand in the way of the right timing.

“It’s an immortal residence! Kill him and take the residence!” Greed bloomed from the cultivators when they saw the image taking shape over Xia Houwan’s head. They flung themselves at the lucky recipient with abandon and threw a jumbled heap of offensive treasures at him.

Most of these cultivators came from Great Xia, but there were also quite a few from other locales. Even if they knew Xia Houwan’s identity, they could not resist the siren’s call that was an immortal residence. They’d all witnessed the level of treasure to be found in the place of burial—every single one could be hailed as heaven defying. It was easy to tell that this immortal residence was no ordinary item.

While Great Xia cultivators showed Xia Houwan a certain degree of respect, outsiders couldn’t care less that he was the grandson of Marquis Skyrule. Immense attacks swiftly filled the air.

“Show no mercy!” Yu Hen roared and unsheathed a gleaming sword. He charged the nearest cultivator in a piercing move.

“The ninety-ninth prince of Great Xia? Let me see how much you’re worth!” His target was an ordinary-looking cultivator dressed in yellow robes. Wholly unafraid of Yu Hen, his treasure was a pair of pale gold meteor hammers. They circled around his body like two massive stars.

The prince sneered and commanded a burst of sword light from his sword, creating a waterfall of radiance in front of him. The cultivator wielding the meteor hammers didn’t have time to react before Yu Hen’s sword split him into two.

……

“There’s so many people in front of you, why did you come for me? I’m at the very back of the pack.” Yu Mo looked glumly at Lu Yun standing firmly in front of him.

“I like the look of you, so here I am.” The young man winked at his opponent.

Yu Mo wore long pastel green robes. His hair glowed with a purple hue and was secured in a small topknot by a green hair ribbon. A gentle smile graced a delicate face set with exquisite features. Limber and lean, Yu Mo was taller than Lu Yun by half a head. Countless ladies would fall at his feet if he was found in a city.

What put Lu Yun ill at ease was the ponderous strength that brewed inside this seemingly gentle cultivator. He was stronger than Yu Hen!

“How about we make a deal?” A strange feeling rose in Yu Mo’s heart as he looked at the merry Lu Yun. Does this kid like men?

Being a latecomer to the palace hall, he hadn’t seen Lu Yun fight the Tai Sui Immortal King earlier. He wouldn’t be near this coolly composed if he had.

“Oh?” Lu Yun raised his brow.

“Pretend you didn’t see me and we’ll both go about our business?” Yu Mo beamed with a casual air, not the least bit in a rush.

The cultivators in front of them were locked in fierce battle with the Iron Dragons. Some of them were thorny characters that could hold their own against the Great Xia deathsworn! There were only three dozen of the guards, after all, and several hundred cultivators. Even Prince Yu Hen was scrambling around in his response.

“Go about our business…?” Lu Yun stroked his chin. “How about this, Rouge Pavilion in Dark City of the Darklake Empire is filled with marvelous delights. We can have a good time there!”

He threw a knowing glance at Yu Mo, prompting an awkward shift from the other. The latter abruptly brightened when he saw an Iron Dragon fall to the combined blow of a dozen cultivators. The guards behind their perished comrade didn’t have time to fill the gap in their ranks.

Thus, an opening developed on Xia Houwan’s side.

“I’m not interested in visiting that place, but I’ll treat you to a tea tasting next time.” Yu Mo took full advantage of the opportunity and jumped upward, wrapping himself in a ray of purple sword light and rushing for the opening.

Bam!

A muffled impact sounded from the void as purple sword light met with crimson sword light. Yu Mo’s body wavered and he stopped.

“Aiyaya, if this young master says I’m going to show you a good time, then we need to go have some fun together!” Lu Yun drawled.

The other cultivators had previously witnessed how strong the Lu young master was, so they were delighted to see him preoccupied with someone else.

“Well now, I admit I didn’t see things clearly. I hadn’t thought that you’d be a hidden powerhouse…” Yu Mo admitted dejectedly. He’d thought he was the strongest on the premises apart from the Great Xia prince. He had a chance of claiming the immortal residence so long as he avoided direct confrontation. Who would’ve thought that there’d be another person playing the pig to eat the tiger here!

But he wasn’t the sort to easily give up. A purple immortal sword appeared in his hand—a seventh rank immortal weapon.

“Now that’s more like it!” Lu Yun took a deep breath. A keen glint sparkled in his eyes as Immortals Forbidden likewise exploded with illumination.
