Chapter 121
C121 – The College Entrance Exam Is Coming
“Mom, stop fussing—you know you can trust your son!”
Jiang’s mother glanced at Jiang Hao and gave an exasperated eye roll.
“How can I not worry about you!”
“You silently become a grandmaster chef, and every time you step out the door, you turn into a little hero saving people…”
She continued to scold Jiang Hao without pause.
Jiang Hao squirmed uncomfortably, surprised that his mother was so well-informed about his ‘misdeeds.’
“Mom, please stop lecturing me. Just listen to me today and don’t go!”
“Your presence might throw me off my game!”
Finally, after much persuasion from Jiang Hao, his mother agreed to stay away.
But shortly after Jiang Hao departed, she watched other students, escorted by their parents, heading to the college entrance exam.
Eventually, her resolve crumbled.
“No, I must go see for myself!”
“If Hao doesn’t want me with him, I’ll just watch from a distance. I won’t be at peace otherwise!”
Truly, the heart of a parent knows no bounds.
Unaware of all this, Jiang Hao entered the exam hall and took his seat in the third row by the door.
As the invigilator arrived and went over the exam rules, the test commenced.
First up, Language Arts.
Jiang Hao quickly scanned the entire test paper, then confidently picked up his pen to answer.
Unlike his peers, who were visibly anxious, Jiang Hao’s pen danced across the page with ease.
His calligraphy was bold and elegant, the characters perfectly formed.
Jiang Hao had come thoroughly prepared for the college entrance exam.
He worked diligently on his answers, and time flew by. Thirty minutes later, he finished his essay.
After reviewing his work several times and finding no significant issues, he found himself with nothing to do.
His unusual calmness caught the invigilator’s eye.
The invigilator watched Jiang Hao with a furrowed brow, puzzled when he saw that Jiang Hao had actually climbed onto the desk to take a nap.
With a few brisk steps, the invigilator approached and gently tapped on the desk where Jiang Hao lay.
“Knock, knock, knock!”
Jiang Hao looked up in surprise, his gaze landing on the invigilator with a hint of confusion.
The teacher leaned in close to Jiang Hao and whispered, “Take your time and answer the questions carefully. There’s plenty of time left!”
Without a word, Jiang Hao straightened up from the table and flipped open his answer sheet, which was already filled to the edges.
The invigilator’s eyes widened in shock upon seeing the densely packed, meticulously written responses.
“Is it… is it complete?”
Glancing at his watch, the invigilator realized that only forty minutes had passed since the exam began!
Completing an entire set of college entrance exam language questions in just forty minutes? And with such earnestness and precision, without a hint of haphazard scribbling?
Memories of his own grueling experience with the college entrance exam flooded back.
The invigilator’s gaze at Jiang Hao turned quizzical.
“Have I fallen behind the times, or am I just getting old? When did students start to become so incredibly capable?”
With that, the invigilator walked away, but throughout the remainder of the Language Examination, his curious eyes continued to sweep over Jiang Hao.
Jiang Hao was at a loss for words.
If it weren’t for the rule against submitting the exam early, he would have been out the door long ago!
Finally, the bell signaled the end of the exam.
Instantly, many students showed signs of frustration.
Jiang Hao, eager to leave, was the first to dash out of the classroom as soon as the papers were collected.
