The phone call connected quickly, and Jiang Hao inquired,
“Wan'er, how did you do on the test?”
From the other end, Rong Wan'er's gentle voice came through.
“I did as usual, no surprises—scored 640 points!”
Jiang Hao responded with enthusiasm,
“That's fantastic! With a score like that, you can pretty much pick any domestic university you like!”
Rong Wan'er nodded on her end before posing her own question.

Not wanting to disappoint her, he tried to gloss over his performance and quickly shifted the conversation.
“So, Wan'er, which university are you thinking about?”
But Rong Wan'er had picked up on the uncertainty in Jiang Hao's voice. Startled and concerned, she wondered if he hadn't done well.
“No changing the subject. Tell me your score first, then I'll share which university I'm considering.”
Jiang Hao sighed, feeling somewhat cornered. He realized that with the college entrance exam results due soon, there was no point in hiding it.
