Chapter 95
C95 – The Sinister
After Jiang Hao departed, the five bullies scrambled to their feet upon hearing that a teacher was on the way, hastily helping each other back to the classroom.
They weren’t typically intimidated by teachers, but they had instigated today’s incident, and embarrassingly, they had been bested by a single opponent despite their numbers.
Keeping this debacle under wraps was crucial; otherwise, their reputation at Second Senior High would be tarnished.
The crowd on the back sports field quickly dispersed.
Shortly thereafter, Liu Xuan arrived at the scene with several teachers in tow.
But by then, Jiang Hao and his group were nowhere to be found.
Jiang Hao’s homeroom teacher, Ying Tian, and the director of instruction were visibly upset, suspecting Liu Xuan had misled them.
“Liu Xuan, you claimed Jiang Hao and the others were brawling here. Where are they?” they demanded.
Liu Xuan was just as baffled. The information he’d received was clear: Jiang Hao had been fighting here. So where had he vanished to without leaving a single mark?
Under the scrutinizing gaze of the homeroom teacher and the director of instruction, Liu Xuan’s nerves frayed.
“Teachers, maybe the fight is over, and they’ve all left,” he suggested tentatively.
The teachers surveyed the pristine sports field with skepticism.
Then, the head teacher addressed the situation.
“Old Chao, check your class later. We can’t have anything happen to Jiang Hao.”
Ying Tian nodded in agreement.
“Understood. It’s unlikely Jiang Hao would engage in a fight. He’s been quite reserved throughout his three years of high school.”
Liu Xuan bit back a retort. Clearly, their homeroom teacher had been fooled by Jiang Hao’s outward demeanor.
He remembered bitterly the time he lost a bet to Jiang Hao, who then made him imitate a dog’s bark, and his teeth clenched at the memory.
How could anyone consider Jiang Hao shy?
But with the teachers still fuming, Liu Xuan kept silent.
The director of instruction cast a stern glance at Liu Xuan and spoke firmly.
“If it turns out someone has been fabricating lies and tarnishing another’s reputation, then punishment is in order. They need to learn that a school is a place for education, not for deceit and manipulation.”
With that, the director of instruction walked away, leaving the matter to be dealt with.
“Yes, I understand. I’ll make sure to handle it properly!”
Ying Tian nodded emphatically before turning and shooting a fierce glare at Liu Xuan.
He hadn’t expected his class monitor to be so cunning, going behind his back to speak with the head of discipline before even approaching him!
……
In no time at all, Ying Tian and Liu Xuan hurried to Senior Class 8. There, Jiang Hao was sprawled out asleep on his desk, while Wang Xiaoman was engrossed in a book. The rest of the students were either reading or working on problems, showing no signs of disturbance.
He had long been aware of Jiang Hao’s habit of sleeping instead of studying and had chosen to overlook it. After all, top students like him often march to the beat of their own drum, right?
But now, Ying Tian’s face darkened as he turned to shoot another glare at Liu Xuan.
He strode into the classroom and approached Jiang Hao, rapping sharply on the desk.
Jiang Hao feigned grogginess, as if he had just woken up.
Realizing it was his homeroom teacher, he quickly got to his feet.
Truth be told, he had been aware of his teacher’s arrival all along.
“Jiang Hao, what were you up to just now?” Ying Tian inquired.
Jiang Hao looked up with a bewildered expression and replied, “Teacher, I was just feeling thirsty, so I went to get a bottle of water. That’s all I did!”
At that moment, Liu Xuan’s face turned ashen.
Realizing he needed to speak up or face the consequences, he blurted out in desperation, “You’re lying! That damn Little Fat just told us you were fighting with someone on the back sports field, and he even came to call for classmates to back you up!”
While accusing, Liu Xuan pointed directly at Little Fat, who was standing right next to Jiang Hao!
