Chapter 378: Chapter 378: Visitors from Liberty City and Forest City
"These two treasures are still here!" John exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
He knew that The Tree of Life was still alive-after all, he shared its life force. If The Tree of Life had met any mishap, he would have already died as well.
However, what surprised him was that World-in-Hand was destroyed, yet the Immortals' Legacy remained intact. His current strength mostly stemmed from the Immortals' Legacy. Not only did he possess this power, but most of the people around him had also gained their strength by comprehending the Immortals' Legacy. To him, the Immortals' Legacy was even more important than The Tree of Life.
Fortunately, both of these treasures were unharmed.
John glanced around at the gray, foggy world and furrowed his brow.
World-in-Hand had restored, but it was in its original undeveloped state.
"I need to start developing it," he thought to himself. With a single thought, his body grew rapidly, transforming into a towering giant, exuding immense pressure, causing the surrounding Chaos Force to stir.
With another thought, the Immortal Sword appeared in his hand, quickly expanding to match his size.
"Creation and Destruction!" he roared. The longsword swept across the air, and a massive sword beam shot out, cleaving through the surrounding chaos.
World-in-Hand began to open up, but it was still a barren wasteland. Compared to before, it was missing much of its former vitality and prosperity.
John didn't mind; as long as World-in-Hand was restored, he could rebuild it slowly.
He sat cross-legged, letting the immense power of laws surge around him as he reinforced the newly opened world.
Half a day passed before he opened his eyes and looked around at the desolate World-in- Hand. He couldn't help but feel a little helpless.
To restore the previous vitality of this place, it would likely take a long time.
Not wanting to waste any more time here, he thought to himself and left World-in-Hand.
Whoosh!
As soon as he appeared, he saw Lincoln rushing toward him, his face filled with urgency. "My lord, where did you suddenly disappear to?" Lincoln breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing John.
"What's the matter?" John asked, noticing Lincoln's anxious demeanor.
Lincoln nodded quickly and said, "A huge city appeared, and some people there have been making bold claims, saying they want to subjugate all of us. Lord Sini is currently confronting them."
"A city?" John asked, clearly puzzled. He had only been in World-in-Hand for half a day, so how could a city have appeared out of nowhere?
Lincoln, also shocked, didn't know how to explain. "My lord, you must go see for yourself." John followed Lincoln out of the Heaven Prison.
A massive shadow loomed in the sky, and they saw a gigantic city hovering above them. It was even larger than Golden Tiger City.
"A flying city?" John said, stunned, unable to believe his eyes.
His strength had been restored, but raising such a massive city was beyond his capabilities. Moreover, it seemed that the city had been floating in mid-air all this time. There was definitely something strange about it.
At that moment, sounds of shouting and commotion came from the newly built structure nearby, indicating that a conflict had broken out.
John furrowed his brow and quickened his pace toward the source of the noise.
It was the City Lord's Manor, which the prisoners of The Heaven Prison had just established. He immediately spotted Sini and a few others confronting other The Heaven Prison criminals.
Standing beside them was a group of people led by a large, burly man wearing golden armor, which gleamed brightly. He watched the two groups argue with a look of impatience on his face.
"Little girl, I'm trying to help you. Don't be ungrateful," the man in golden armor sneered at Sini, his tone dismissive and condescending.
This man was a Seven-Star Awakened One!
John wasn't intimidated and slowly walked over.
"John!" Sini spotted him and hurried over, her face flushed with anger. "This man is trying to recruit these The Heaven Prison criminals."
"Oh?" John glanced over at the The Heaven Prison criminals. Aside from the thirteen people who had accompanied him, the rest had gathered together. Clearly, they had already joined the other side.
"Are you the leader here?" the man in golden armor sized John up and slightly tilted his head, speaking in a dismissive tone. "Allow me to introduce myself. We are from the City of Liberty. You can call me Governor. We're here to help you."
John narrowed his eyes. The man's arrogance and high-handed attitude made him look like someone in desperate need of a lesson. But instead of reacting immediately, he curiously asked, "How exactly do you plan on helping us?"
The self-proclaimed governor smiled faintly and replied, "I can offer you the Law Crystal Spheres for cultivation to help restore your strength. However, you must join the City of Liberty and, for every crystal sphere, you'll need to pay 10,000 Seven-Star Magic Cores." "10,000 Seven-Star Magic Cores?" John sneered. This guy was practically robbing them.
He knew the value of Magic Cores. A Seven-Star Magic Core could provide anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 points of base attributes. A normal Law Crystal Sphere would be worth around 1,000 Seven-Star Magic Cores. Even a rare Law Crystal Sphere wouldn't be worth more than 5,000 Seven-Star Magic Cores. Yet, these The Heaven Prison criminals were eager to accept the offer. Thinking it through, it was clear why they were willing to agree. Their powers were sealed, and the Power of Laws Devouring had taken a serious toll on them. It was hard for them to survive here, and they desperately needed the Law Crystal Spheres to restore their strength. They knew the governor was exploiting them, but they still agreed without hesitation. They were all Lord God-level beings. Once their powers were restored, they could easily deal with Seven-Star Magical Beasts. They could pay him back slowly over time.
"How about it? This is a great opportunity for you. Without it, you won't survive here," the Governor said, looking at John as if he were the savior of this place.
"My lord, we are willing to join the City of Liberty."
"I'll join too!"
"Count me in."
...
Before John could say anything, the The Heaven Prison criminals eagerly voiced their
agreement.
He hadn't expected these fools to be so easily swayed. He had originally planned to offer the elemental law crystal spheres for free after establishing Golden Tiger City, to help these people
regain their strength.
But now, it seemed they weren't even worth the effort to cultivate.
Ignoring them, John turned his attention to the man in golden armor, saying indifferently, "You can take these people and leave now."
However, the Governor was not about to give up. He spoke again, "Kid, it seems you don't realize how powerful the City of Liberty is. We are the strongest force in the Realm of Chaos, fighting against The Heaven and the major cities. While you may have some strength, you're nothing compared to the true experts. You can only survive by joining us."
"Oh?" John sneered, clearly dismissing the Governor's words. "If you're so powerful, why did you wait until I destroyed Golden Tiger City before coming to take over?"
John had already seen through this Governor's strength. He was nothing special, weaker than the vice city lords of Golden Tiger City. The only thing unique about him seemed to be the
floating city.
"Did you destroy Golden Tiger City?" The Governor sized him up, clearly in disbelief.
He continued, "Here's the deal: you lead your people and join my ranks. I'll give you a Law Crystal Sphere for free. And if you can find any powerful individuals who have mastered the Elemental Body, I'll reward you handsomely."
The Governor's words caused the other The Heaven Prison criminals who had joined his side to look displeased. However, after recalling John's terrifying strength, they quickly let it go. "Mastering the Elemental Body?" John sneered. The Elemental Body was indeed a powerful force, capable of continuously producing Law Crystal Spheres, creating vast wealth. He had already mastered the elemental bodies of wind, fire, water, and earth, which allowed him to create countless elemental law crystal spheres.
However, he didn't want to reveal this just yet.
He was about to speak when suddenly, two powerful auras descended from afar. "How dare the City of Liberty lay a hand on Golden Tiger City?!" a furious shout echoed through the air. A large and a small figure appeared in the blink of an eye, floating mid-air, their cold gazes sweeping over the crowd below.
"An Eight-Star powerhouse!" John's expression changed. The auras from the two individuals were terrifying. They were both Eight-Star Awakened Ones.
He looked at the massive Rock Giant, and to his surprise, it resembled the Rock Giant he had encountered in Quahog City. The difference was that this one was even larger.
The other individual was a man with a pale, almost delicate appearance, radiating an eerie,
murderous aura that sent a chill down one's spine.
These two were from Forest City!
"Master," Debbie whispered, stepping closer to remind him, "These two are powerful figures from Forest City. Their names are Butcher and Mountain Ghost, both at Eight-Star
cultivation."
John nodded, his expression turning serious. His strength hadn't fully recovered yet, and he wasn't sure if he could take on an Eight-Star Awakened One just yet.
"This place is already under the protection of Liberty City. If you don't want to die, leave now!" the Governor declared, still wearing an arrogant expression.
John was momentarily stunned. He didn't understand where this man's confidence came from -was he ignorant, or just reckless?
With a Seven-Star cultivation, he actually dared to challenge Eight-Star powerhouses? John decided to observe. It was a good opportunity to see the true strength of an Eight-Star
Awakened One.
The two Forest City powerhouses exchanged disdainful looks after hearing the Governor's
words.
"Mountain Ghost, you handle this. I don't want to dirty my hands with these trash," Butcher said calmly, giving the Governor a quick glance before losing interest. He spoke dismissively.
Mountain Ghost frowned at Butcher, but he too wasn't interested in dealing with these people. He stepped forward, casting his gaze at the Governor, and asked in a cold voice, "Are you from Quahog City? Have you seen the one who killed my disciple? If you hand over that
person and a woman named Sini, I'll let you go."
The City of Liberty people were like vultures-whenever a city was destroyed, they would be the first to arrive, capturing the prisoners from The Heaven Prison. Mountain Ghost had learned that Quahog City had been destroyed, and his disciple had been killed by a human. That
was why he was asking the Governor now.
John's brow furrowed when he heard this. He hadn't realized these two were here for him and Sini.
At this moment, his strength wasn't enough to face an Eight-Star Awakened One. Though Sini's strength hadn't been affected, she was still only at Lord God level, equivalent
to a Seven-Star Awakened One. She was no match for these two. Fortunately, World-in-Hand had been restored. If it came to a fight, he could always retreat
into World-in-Hand.
"Hmph, are you threatening me?" The Governor sneered. "I'm eager to see what you can do to kill me!"
With a shout, he flew straight toward the floating city.
Boom!
A loud, mechanical rumble echoed from the massive city. Several enormous cannon barrels
rose from around the city, locking onto Mountain Ghost and Butcher.
