Chapter 324 - Boy Problems

Chapter 324: Boy Problems

Yan Wugui watched the scene in shock. He turned to Lu Mingshu and gulped. “Wow, how do you know?”

Lu Mingshu raised an eyebrow and kept quiet.

But Yan Wugui couldn’t contain his curiosity.

How do I know? I have been at Nine Jade Palace since I was a kid and I didn’t get to experience much. The first place I’ve been to other than that is Zhongzhou, so obviously it’s just a guess.

Lu Mingshu ignored him, continuing to think about what Prince Jiang did.

“Hey!” Yan Wugui shook Lu Mingshu furiously, not stopping until he got an answer.

“What is it?!”

“How the hell do you know the answer?!”

“Isn’t it obvious?” Lu Mingshu looked at him in disdain. “She only got angry when Prince Jiang spoke about the Floating Cloud young master. If not about him, then what?”

“Oh, indeed....” Yan Wugui heaved a sigh of relief.

Lu Mingshu rolled her eyes. Does he think that I don’t read novels? This is a common plot! However, is Eldest Miss Nie aware that Prince Jiang is a girl?

Meanwhile, Eldest Miss Nie was struggling with cleaning the wound on her arm with a teardrop rolling down her face, making her look extremely pretty.

Jiang Yuan stood at her side, expressionless. She didn’t say anything or lend Eldest Miss Nie a helping hand even though she was struggling.

If it were Lu Mingshu, she wouldn’t help either. Why would Jiang Yuan help? She saved her and yet was scolded by her. She wasn’t a charity. She was most probably here just because of the Nie Family.

After a while, Eldest Miss Nie managed to bandage her wound and stop the blood roughly, but it was so painful that she couldn’t stop crying. Realizing that Jiang Yuan was still next to her, she bit her lips to control herself from wailing.

After some time, Eldest Miss Nie calmed down and stopped crying. When she looked up and saw that Jiang Yuan was still there, she flared up. “You’re extremely happy now, right? I must look like a joke to you.”

“I never thought that you were a joke, and I am not happy right now,” Jiang Yuan replied, not even sparing a look at her.

“You...” Eldest Miss Nie blinked her eyes, taken aback by the reply. She then looked up at Jiang Yuan angrily and sneered. “Cut the act. I know how much you hate me because I took Fu Yun away from you. If not for me, this pair of childhood sweethearts would still be together happily and make the sweetest couple alive! But don’t you forget that, without me, Fu Yun wouldn’t be where he is today, and you wouldn’t be the most precious seventeenth young master of the Jiang Family!”

Hearing this, Yan Wugui looked at Lu Mingshu in shock. “Who would have expected the eldest miss to know so much?”

He thought that a pampered daughter like Eldest Miss Nie would be some innocent party that wasn’t aware of what was going on, but what she said revealed that she was well aware of Jiang Yuan’s identity. This is going to be an interesting show. She knows that Prince Jiang’s a female, but she chooses to say nothing about it....

“I never once hated you.” Jiang Yuan finally looked at Eldest Miss Nie.

“Keep pretending!” Eldest Miss Nie yelled.

“As you said,” Jiang Yuan started, “Fu Yun wouldn’t be where he is now without you and I wouldn’t be the precious seventeenth young master of Jiang Family. So what if we were the sweetest couple alive? We may not have even had half of what we have today. Since we chose to give up for this, there’s no one else to blame.”

“You....” Eldest Miss Nie looked at her in shock.

“It’s not anybody’s fault that we broke up. It is just that we didn’t love each other enough, and I am more than happy with my life now, so you can stop treating me like an enemy because I don’t view you as one either.”

Eldest Miss Nie looked at her in shock. She bit her lips and mumbled, “Who knows if you are saying this just because I know your secret?”

Hearing this, Jiang Yuan stared at her coldly.

The stare sent Eldest Miss Nie moving back. “Wha-what do you want?”

Jiang Yuan smiled thinly and shook her head. “In this situation, if I wanted to kill you, it would be incredibly easy.”

“Are you threatening me?!” Eldest Miss Nie was angry.

Jiang Yuan shook her head. “Since I didn’t choose to kill you, I clearly do not care even if you know my secret. Now, the Jiang Family values me so much that, even if you spill the beans, they would do anything to cover it up. Rufei, five years have passed. I’m no longer Jiang Wan, and Fu Yun is no longer the Fu Yun from back then. Five years have changed both of us so much, and if you’re still going to behave like a child, you’ll be left behind one day.”

Even though Jiang Yuan sounded cold, she was being genuine. However, Eldest Miss Nie didn’t appreciate it. “I don’t need somebody who is as ‘good’ as you to remind me!”

In her hiding spot, Lu Mingshu sighed. The difference between their EQ was too huge, so this conversation basically made no sense. Just as Jiang Yuan said, they had both grown up, but Eldest Miss Nie was still like a child. Thus, their perspective was totally different, and Eldest Miss Nie couldn’t know how Jiang Yuan really felt. Furthermore, Jiang Yuan was unexpectedly calm, which made Eldest Miss Nie even angrier.

Lu Mingshu suddenly felt pity for Eldest Miss Nie. As the family’s precious pearl, she had everything she ever wanted and always looked down on everything. But talent and ability were what differentiated her from the truly gifted. As much as she hated Jiang Yuan for being a love rival, the main thing she hated was the fact that Jiang Yuan was way more capable than her and was much stronger. This made her feel indignant and hate her even more.

At this moment, footsteps could be heard. Somebody was coming over.

Eldest Miss Nie’s eyes shone. “Husband?”

The person emerged from the bush, and it was indeed the ice-cold Floating Cloud young master.

“Husband!” Eldest Miss Nie’s eyes welled up as she pounced on him.

He reached out to her, remaining expressionless despite seeing her in her current state.

“How come you’re injured?” he asked coldly.

Hearing this, Eldest Miss Nie burst out in tears and wailed. “Husband, just now...”

She sniffed and told him everything. Floating Cloud young master raised his eyebrow upon hearing the story.

“It’s okay, you’re fine now.” He patted her shoulder and helped her to rebandage her wound.

Eldest Miss Nie smiled sweetly and looked at him shyly. This scene made Lu Mingshu feel like puking. She’s really...

After cleaning the wound, Floating Cloud young master went over to examine the four corpses on the ground.

“You don’t need to investigate them,” Jiang Yuan said indifferently. “They wouldn’t have any clues on them.”

The Floating Cloud young master raised an eyebrow.

Seeing this, Eldest Miss Nie tensed up, but as if fearing that her husband would be angry at her, she dared not make a noise.

“Their ability is above average, but not as good as true assassins. If I’m not wrong, they are coming after you, not her,” Prince Jiang said.

The Floating Cloud young master nodded. “Rufei doesn’t have many enemies.”

“You should think about who you’ve offended.” Jiang Yuan paused and shook her head. “Nevermind, I don’t think you would find an answer. You simply have too many interests involved.”
