Chapter 237: Garnt return
On the fated day that the meteor was set to strike, Mia stood atop a hill, taking a final look at the sky. Around her, the members of her group gasped in astonishment at the sight above. The massive celestial body hurtling towards the earth was a harbinger of both doom and hope. Mia's eyes were cold, her expression set with determination.
"The time has come to make things right," Mia declared, her voice steady as she turned to the commander at her side. "Get ready to leave this land and return to the safety of our motherland."
Oswald, the commander, a stoic man with a sharp gaze, looked at her with a mixture of concern and curiosity. "Will we be able to return to this exact moment? Is it even possible to do that? I hope things won't get complicated."
Mia shook her head, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Don't worry about that. The common sense we have in this world will no longer apply. We're about to harness the power of the universe. We are about to become gods among humans. Time and space, these things are not allowed to be touched by humans, but when they do, they are no longer humans."
The commander pondered her words, his mind racing with the implications. The power of the meteor could change everything. His country, already powerful, would become invincible. But the price of such power would be steep. He knew peace would be a fleeting dream and that he would have to make tough decisions. Yet, betraying his motherland was not something he was ready to consider.
"Is this really the way? Would this ruin their already beautiful country?" Oswald couldn't help but ask these question in silent, but he knew only the future can answer him.
Mia turned her attention to the small device in her hand that allowed her to control the powerful machine, a piece of advanced technology that had been designed to harness the meteor's energy.
"Tsk, to think that this machine was part of that woman's contribution. It still irritates me, but I guess beggars have no choices,"
While thinking about the origin of the machine, she activated it, and a soft hum filled the air as the portal began to open. The machine they had used to collect the power was being transported back to their land, and Mia watched it go with a sense of satisfaction and a small hint of desire in her eyes.
As the portal stabilized, Mia took a final look at the machine, a smile touching her lips as she remembered Garnt. She wondered what he was doing at that moment, knowing that any mistake on his part would be fatal.
"Stupid boy! You could have stayed here and saved your life, but then again...I would have done the same thing. What's the point of giving up things you value and desire to save your own life. I hope he will die a easy death without any pain."
Leaving those words in the air , the portal shimmered, and Mia took a deep breath. She stepped through it, the commander following close behind. The landscape around them began to shift and warp as they left the old world behind. The power of the universe awaited them on the other side, and with it, the promise of a new beginning.
They were back on their motherland without any problems proving the power of the meteor.
As the portal closed, Mia's thoughts lingered on Garnt. She hoped he would find a way to survive the impending catastrophe. She respected his tenacity and strength, even if their paths had diverged so drastically.
Mia and her group disappeared into the portal, leaving behind a world that would forever change by the imminent impact of the meteor. And as Garnt drove towards his uncertain future, the destinies of all intertwined, hanging in the balance of the cosmos.

Garo fought back with renewed vigor, his massive form lashing out with claws and teeth. Unami and Rona continued to annoy the T-Rex, stabbing and slashing at any opportunity. Though their efforts only inflicted minor wounds, it was enough to distract and weaken the predator.
They knew killing it would or at least wounding it would be impossible, but they were not ready to leave the adorable dinosaur that helped them.
"Hang on, Garo!" Rona shouted, thrusting her spear towards the T-Rex's exposed flank. Unami aimed for the creature's legs, trying to impede its movement. Their relentless assault gradually wore the beast down combined with the relentless attacks from Garo.
Garo, sensing his opportunity, lunged forward with a powerful swipe of his claws, catching the T-Rex across its throat. The creature let out a final, gurgling roar before collapsing to the ground, defeated. Garo stood over his fallen foe, bloodied but triumphant.
"We did it," Unami panted, her chest heaving with exertion. "But Garo is hurt."
Rona nodded, quickly assessing the situation. "We need to get out of here. Gundo and the others are waiting."
With Garo's help, Unami and Rona climbed onto his back, holding on tightly as the dinosaur carried them toward the rest of the group. The ground continued to shake, and the sky was filled with the ominous glow of falling meteors.
When they reached Gundo and the others, they found them stopped at the edge of a massive crack in the mountain, staring at the scene beyond. For a moment, Rona and Unami thought their friends were simply stunned by the beauty of the landscape. But as they got closer, they realized the truth.
"What is happening?" Unami reached Gundo while shaking her shoulder to break her out of the shock, she was experiencing.
The land beyond the crack was a scene of utter devastation. Meteors rained down in a relentless barrage, tearing through the earth and sending plumes of smoke and ash into the sky. Animals ran in all directions, their panicked cries filling the air.
"No... this can't be happening," Ayra whispered, clutching her children close. "We were supposed to find safety here. Isn't that why all the animals ran here?"
Gundo's face was pale, her usual resilience shattered. "What do we do now?" she asked, her voice trembling with despair.
Before anyone could answer, a small meteor struck the ground nearby, the impact sending a shockwave that knocked them off their feet. The group lay sprawled on the ground, their hopes dashed in an instant.
"We're done for," one of the elders cried, tears streaming down his face. "There's no way out."
Even Ayra, always a beacon of positivity, looked defeated. "We can't go on like this, is this the end for us?" she said, her voice barely a whisper.
Then, through the effect of destruction, they heard a noise—a faint, distant rumble that grew louder with each passing second. It was the unmistakable sound of a vehicle's engine. The same type which Garnt was kidnapped from.
Gundo's eyes widened with hope. "Could it be...?"
The vehicle burst through the smoke, barreling toward them at full speed. At the wheel was none other than Garnt, his face set with grim determination. He skidded to a halt in front of the group, leaping out of the vehicle.
"Get in!" Garnt shouted, waving them toward the vehicle. "We don't have much time!"
The group scrambled to their feet, rushing toward the truck with renewed hope. Garnt helped them into the vehicle, his eyes scanning the horizon for any more threats.
"We thought you were gone," Gundo said, her voice choked with emotion. "How did you find us?"
"No time to explain," Garnt replied, gunning the engine. "We need to get out of here now! Even if you have to squeeze out let everyone get inside the truck."
As the jeep roared to life, they sped away from the destruction, the landscape behind them continuing to crumble under the onslaught of meteors. Garo ran alongside the jeep, his massive form providing a sense of protection and strength.
He also carried the rest of the people on his back despite him being injured, which was a heroic act from his part. Garnt wanted to connect with his beloved pet after long time, but he knew it was not the time for that.
"Hold on tight!" Garnt called out as they navigated the treacherous terrain. "We're almost there!"
Despite the chaos around them, a sense of hope began to build within the group. They had survived against all odds, and now, with Garnt leading the way, they had a chance to find safety.
Finally, they reached the edge of the devastation, crossing into a land that, while scarred, was still habitable. Garnt brought the jeep to a stop, and the group piled out, their hearts pounding with relief.
"We made it," Rona said, her voice filled with wonder. "We actually made it."
Garnt nodded, his eyes scanning the horizon. "This isn't over yet," he said. "But we're safe for now. Let's find a place to regroup and plan our next move."
As they quickly entered a temporary cave, the group couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. They had faced unimaginable challenges and come through stronger on the other side.
But as soon as they heard Garnt's next words, they all started to feel dread, though a few of them were just glad to see Garnt again, and that was enough for them.
"We are going to die sooner or later, so listen to me," Garnt began, showing a serious look on his face, unlike any other time.
