Chapter 2334: Vs Rashma
Chapter 2334: Vs Rashma
"NOOOOOO..."
A scream that shook the clouds high up in the sky originated from the audience. The elder of the Set academy made a move as soon as he saw their student kneeling on the stage and Sam standing in front of him with the gun.
He is a tad too late. Sam already took the shot.
"YOU....."
The elder screamed as he appeared at the stage. His killing intent raged. He was about to make a move, when he sensed a movement.
He noticed that Sam's opponent is still breathing. He is not dead...
The bullet Sam shot didn't pierce his head, instead it just slightly pierced through the skin and stuck there on his forehead. He is alive. Sam just walked off the stage while stowing his hand guns away. His vampire form slowly turned back to normal and the black smoke completely entered his body.
Inside his stomach, that black smoke is condensed into a very small orb.
The elder wanted to say something, but he decided against it and walked away with the young man. Sam took his seat and started recovering. He didn't take the wine this time, instead he started downing the vials of liquid energy. Mostly wood element.
It is essentially liquid vitality.
He recovered at a crazy pace. His cracked bones healed, and the cuts and bruises of the skin disappeared. The repair of his body was done faster than the repair of the stage and he back to normal. Of course, he had to drink a bunch of vials to recover his energy completely.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
There is some time for him to prepare for the finals.
Rashma and him are going to fight in the finals. He meditated for the short time and when the stage was set and ready for the final round of the solo combat...
*SWOOSH* *THUD*
Rashma flew out of her seat and landed on the stage. A few cracks appeared on the freshly made stage and she looked at Sam gesturing him to come up. A grin on her face and a spark in her eyes. A spring in her step and itchy feeling in her fingers.
She is excited.
For the first time in this tournament, she felt extremely excited.
Until now, every single candidate she fought against was boring for her.
They didn't offer a challenge and everyone was done for in a couple of hits. Only the previous opponent managed to endure a couple more, but even he fell soon.
She felt frustrated and believed that this trip has been in vain. She hoped that she could find some people that could offer resistance. And finally, after the series of disappointments, she is excited facing Sam.
Even though he is a couple of levels behind, he made her excited.
Sam took a deep breath and got on the stage. In this whole tournament, there were only two people that he is actually concerned with. His previous opponent and Rashma.
The previous opponent, because of the black smoke. It could be considered one of the dirtiest secrets of the Set academy. Rashma because... even if he knew more about her, even if he gathered a lot more information on her, it will be hard for him to defeat her without sufficient prep time.
She is that overpowered.
She just overwhelms her opponents with sheer strength and there are not many things that could overcome that and one must pay sufficient price to reduce that gap. Even if Sam can afford it, he has to spend a lot of time to do so.
Of course, that is assuming that he didn't want to reveal everything he has on the spot.
He walked slowly to the stage with a million thoughts in his head.
He stood there and tried to loosen his body a bit. He skipped on the spot while moving his hands. As if he is warming up.
"FIGHT"
The referee announced.
The next moment, in a flash...
*BAM*
Rashma's foot crashed in the spot where Sam was and Sam is standing on the spot where Rashma previously stood. Spatial energy rippled around him and Rashma's current location. She arrived at a speed that didn't match her cultivation level.
She could easily catch a Divine Plane Pretranscendent initial stage cultivator with that speed.
*BAM*
She appeared back at the original location trying to land a kick, Sam once again disappeared from there and reappeared in his original location.
Sam knew that he wouldn't be able to match her in reaction speed, so he used a trick. He activated energy vision and observed the energy around her. He used the vision at the maximum level, trying to catch even the slightest disturbance in the surrounding spiritual
energy.
When she was about to move, right when he made it, the energy in the surroundings showed a slight movement as well and Sam used the space element to disappear.
Even before her muscles reacted according to her thoughts, Sam already reacted. That is the only way, he knew that he can dodge her with.
*BAM* *BAM* *BAM*
Sam kept on dodging with the space element, he didn't attempt any other form of defence as he moved around like that and Rashma kept on beating the stage, she even tried to trick Sam,
but he was always spot on with his movement.
He didn't leave anything to chance or assumption.
Just when he noticed that she is about to get frustrated, he changed the strategy a bit. A pack of metal cards appeared in his hands. He threw them in an arc. They made a circle around the stage, which made Rashma paused her assault a bit.
Maybe she remembered what happened the last time when Sam threw a different pack of
cards.
*BAM*
She slammed her foot on the stage, the shockwave induced was enough to make the cards go bust. They fell on the spot. However, she noticed something that surprised her a bit. Around nine cards didn't fall down, instead they froze in particular spots around the stage. They are levitating there with a slight glow. Upon observation she noticed that all those spots
are the exact spots where the stage cracked.
Those are the spots where she tried to kick Sam.
Which means, those are the spots he was in before. The spatial energy residue made the cards hover just for a moment in that position and the basic formation has kicked in. The cards are linked and they are holding each other in position.
Rashma frowned and paused her attacking spree. She looked at the cards and thought for a moment before going after one of them. She couldn't sense any threat from them at the moment. However, she knew better than letting Sam proceed forward with that plan.
She also kept an eye on Sam to ensure that no threat can come from that side.
Sam took out his hand gun and aimed it at one of the spots on the stage. She noticed it, felt a bit strange and cautious. Because it wasn't at her, but at a completely different and random
direction.
Before she could make a decision, he attacked.
*BAM*
The bullet went and hit a card on the stage.
It didn't show any reaction at all. The card broke, that is all. But after a fraction of second's
delay,
*BOOM*
A fiery explosion of golden flames engulfed Rashma completely. She was blown to the other side of the stage. Sam blinked away from there and shot a different card.
*BOOM*
Another fiery explosion hit her from behind at an angle, throwing her in a different direction.
As for how it happened. It is his resonance trick. All the cards in the pack except for the nine floating cards are pairs.
If he shoots one of the pair, the other one resonates with the attack of the bullet. So, he aimed the cards in such a way that the night will definitely land in those floating positions. The rest...
it doesn't matter.
He is sure that one card or the other will be near her and he just needs to shoot its pair.
*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*
Sam kept on shooting down and Rashma was caught in the explosions for the next three
times. On the fourth one though... she gritted her teeth and conjured an energy barrier around
her. The explosion was strong enough to destroy it.
But that gave her enough time to stabilize herself. She took the explosion, moved in the direction, but before she could reach the destined location, her punch reached it. With a shockwave, that part of the stage exploded throwing all cards away.
She landed in that crater and took a deep breath.
She looked at Sam warily.
There was not much damage for her, except for some light bruises due to the shockwave. The
flames didn't do anything to her. The only change is that there is a drop of sweat tricking
down her face.
This is the first time she sweat in the tournament.
