Chapter 2392: Weird creatures
Chapter 2392: Weird creatures
Sam didn't worry about Sky.
He just took off on Harbinger at his fastest speed and within a few seconds he is already off the island. He just moved in a random direction not caring much about the destination. As long as he reaches a place that has people are beasts, then it is a prospective place for him to act.
Only as he travelled over the ocean did he realize just how big the planet is.
That is part of the information that was left on this planet's description. Nowhere was it mentioned that this place is so huge.
Even after he travelled for over an hour at full speed, he didn't see any sign of the land. At his current level and using harbinger's speed... that is way too fast and he covered a lot of distance.
He also kept his divine sense spread to its full range as he moved, he is covering a lot of territory at the same time. Sam travelled for another fifteen minutes, before he thought if he should take a different approach, when he finally sensed something.
At the farthest end of his spiritual sense, to his right, he sensed a land mass. He turned and moved in that direction. Within two minutes he could clearly see the landmass and from what he saw, it looked like there are some signs of human settlement. He could see a towering structure resembling a light house on the shore.
After he reached a certain distance, he even felt a ping to his spiritual sense from that tower.
At that exact moment, on the shore that Sam is heading towards, within the tower, an inscription circle that has been dormant for a while started glowing. The glow is so bright that Sam could sense it through the spiritual sense.
However, to his surprise he couldn't see it with plain eyes. He was intrigued by it. As he was thinking what it could possibly be, and kept on interacting with it through his spiritual sense almost as if he is probing it, the deepest part of his spiritual sense that is spread into the water also picked up on something.
*SWOOSH*
He slipped to the side along with Harbinger. A huge shark covered in blue and black scales came out of the water. On the head of the shark, a humanoid figure stood with a spear in his hands.
*SWOOSH*
That humanoid figure, threw the spear at Sam. As if on cue, the water in the surroundings reacted to the spear's movements and surrounded it, forming a giant spiraling water spear, aimed at Sam.
Sam frowned.
An energy barrier formed around his palm as he waved it. With a splash the giant spear burst into water and dropped back into the sea.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
The actual spear flew far away.
The humanoid and the shark already went into the water. Sam could sense them. They once again came above from right underneath him. This time, Sam didn't dodge. Instead, he sent an energy explosion attack.
The condensed wind energy from within the thrusters of the harbinger was shot down and it exploded.
The opponent hurriedly controlled the water and covered his and the shark's bodies. *BOOM*
The fatal damage was avoided, but the strength of the explosion blew the fish and the humanoid back into the water. It was so forceful, that they went hundreds of meters deep. Sam focused his senses on the other party.
Both the creatures that he saw... he has never seen them before. Even with the heaps of knowledge that Gambler gave him initially combined with even more knowledge he gained by the virtue of the hub, failed at the moment.
He can faintly see the resemblance of some Black headed shark in the shark type beast, but the scales are a bit too different. Those scales almost look reptilian.
And even more of a shocker is the humanoid figure that rode the shark. As per the information revealed about this place, this planet is supposed to only have the humans and the beasts.
But he can clearly is a humanoid creature. One that has opposing thumbs and uses a spear. And the way it is reacting beneath the surface, it is clearly a lot more intelligent compared to an average beast.
As if that is not enough confirmation, Sam saw several other humanoid creatures, coming from the deeper parts of the seas, all of them riding on those weird scaly sharks.
Sam frowned and focused on them.
'Come here'
At that moment a faint whisper echoed in his eyes. He looked around cautiously.
'Come in this direction. You can't take them on.'
The same voice, but this time a lot clearer and he could see which direction it is coming from. The shore. From that tower.
Sam turned to look at that spot. Even with his enhanced vision, he cannot see that light, but can only sense it. The voice could be heard, but he couldn't sense any living being from there.
*SWOOSH* *SPLASH*
While he is focused on them, the creatures came out, all of them attacking Sam at the same time.
*SWOOSH*
Harbinger made a quick circle in the air, sending out a wind blade, covering three hundred and sixty degrees around him.
*SLASH*
The fish were cut and so were the people that are riding them. Blood squirted out of their wounds. Sam covered his nose in disgust. The blood is not usual red color or any normal color Sam has seen. It is a weird shade of blue and it has much thicker consistency than normal
blood.
It stunk.
Of course, not all the creatures are dead. But most of them are all. The rest are injured. Sam caught a hold of one of those humanoid figures. That creature struggled like crazy, but Sam knocked it out and tied it up.
These creatures are all at Initial stage of divine plane initiation. And for some reason, they appeared a bit stronger than the usual cultivators of that level. It didn't make much difference to Sam, but judging by the injuries on them... none of these creatures were fully cut all the way
through.
His wind blade, cut deeply, but none of them were cut in into two parts. Which should have been the expected result.
Sam turned towards the shore and moved at top speed while holding the creature.
A few hundred meters away from the shore, he suddenly sensed some other movement. Turtle type beasts of various kinds shot out of the water and attacked him.
Spheres of water and poison came at him from multiple directions. Sam dodged through the attacks and closed in. At that moment, the water raised and formed a huge wall in front of
him.
It surrounded him from all the directions. Even the slight splash of that water, gave his skin a
burning feeling.
"Poison"
He muttered to himself.
'Leave it.' The voice once again came. Sam instantly understood what it meant. It is telling
him to leave the creature behind. But Sam is not willing.
The beasts kept on attacking him.
"Alright. Let's do this then..."
Sam was about to take out his reaper sword, when he heard something.
"STOP"
A human voice. He looked ahead and someone came running on the shore. They are yelling and the beasts attacking him stopped.
Sam hovered in the air and looked at the people on the beach. There are two of them. A man
and a woman and they wore some regular shabby clothing. Both of them had long black hair. They had similar facial features as well. They looked a bit depraved. Thin, pale and exhausted. Those are the words that came to his mind.
Both of them looked at Sam sizing him up and then looked at the restrained creature he held
in his hands.
"Who are you?" The young man asked.
Sam is also sizing them both up. Both of them are at Divine plane initiation. Initial stage.
"I am a visitor. Is there a city or any form of human settlement nearby?" "Visitor? Where are you coming from? As far as I know, there are no islands nearby and even if
there are, no man can cross this sea and come here. Tell me, who are you? Or don't even think about stepping foot on the shore."
At that moment, all those sea beasts that were previous attacking with ranged attacks, put
their heads out of the water. Ready to aim.
"This is getting annoying.
It is already out of character for me to not kill these beasts since they attacked me first... so
just call your leader, I want to talk to him."
As Sam replied, his aura raged. His killing intent is raging. More than that, his Hydra bloodline is active. The beasts that were so fiercely attacking him a couple of seconds ago, suddenly started shivering in their spots.
Even the two humans didn't know what was happening for a moment and froze. Sam leaped off the harbinger and landed in front of them. He still held the creature and said.
"I will give you an hour. Go back to your settlement and bring your leader. I won't come to your place or attack you guys. At least, not yet. I give you my word. After an hour, I will make my way there. And at that time, it won't be a pleasant conversation that we would be having."
