Rebirth: The Villainous Young Master Doesn't Want to Follow the Script

Chapter 108: Ominous Feeling

*********

LOCATION: EVELLEN TERRITORY, WESTERN PART OF CLIFFTON EMPIRE

Both of them had entered the establishment where the auction event was being held and the person-in-charge from earlier is the one who assisted the both of them.

After a slight commotion that happened outside the establishment and had sorted things out before it escalated, the person-in-charge immediately took over the two esteemed guests inside to avoid further trouble.

Because of the slight commotion that happened outside and for sure that most of the guests who happened to take a glimpse of the familiar token from the handsome snow-colored hair youth, the person-in-charge knew that this would circulate within the Empire.

Especially back at the Capital city of Krom and from the Eastern Territory of Cliffton Empire.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. Call me Frenan and I'm one of the staff here. This one will direct you to one of the establishment's VIP rooms and cater for all your needs. Also, just a reminder that the auction event will start at any moment."

The person-in-charge who introduced himself as Frenan and Eclipse just nodded as a sign of courtesy as he looked around and were now inside the establishment where the auction event would be held.

According to the information provided for them, their client named Gilbert Herrer would appear in this auction event because the item that he needed would appear in this place.

As for what item that would be? Eclipse doesn't have an idea since there is no indication from the information provided for them.

However, that was none of the world-hopper's business to think about that item since that wasn't his priority and Gilbert Herrer is the one they needed and nothing else.

Also, there is a portrait of Gilbert Herrer and the description of him within the information that they had within their hands, but the world-hopper couldn't help but to think that the name [Gilbert Herrer] might not be the client's real name at all.

'That would be a troublesome if it turns out that this [Gilbert Herrer] is using a fake name and if by chance, there is a possibility that this person might have used face changing and body transformation at all.'

If that truly happens then, that would be a troublesome to track down such a person.

Eclipse thought about their client and the possibility of him using some tricks to unable to track him down, he secretly eyeing around to investigate his surroundings.

Since Eclipse isn't quite familiar with the nobility of Cliffton Empire, he doesn't have any idea on who were from the higher-ranks or from the lower-ranks of the nobility.

Also, there might be tendency that there would be a member of the Cliffton Royal family under disguise within the crowds and the world-hopper had no way to at least identify them with his instincts.

'It would be a bad idea if I just happened to involve myself into something I couldn't resolve because of my station and even if I presented that token to anyone else, I don't want to attract any attention from the people within this place.'

Or it would be better to just maintain a proper courtesy with everyone that he would happen to meet and nothing else.

'If only my system interface is still working then.'

Although the system interface that Eclipse usually has with him on his daily basis as a world-hopper hasn't been working for more than three years already, at least he is still thankful that he still have his authority with him, and he could activate it if necessary.

However, as much as possible, Eclipse would prefer if he wouldn't activate his authority that much, lest he wanted to catch the attention of the whole Empire.

'Just like Arico who only used his [Shapeshifting] as a source of his ability within this worldline, I, too, also had another ability aside from my primary ability of authority.'

Since Rheina concluded herself that Eclipse had a Magician bloodline, Eclipse can used some of his basic magic spells from the worldlines that he had learned and brought forth in his original worldline with the power of his authority.

From the moment he registered himself as an adventurer, the Adventurers Guild registered him as a [Combat Mage] since Eclipse could fight as he can incorporate his martial combat with his magic abilities and from what Eclipse had known is that…. In this continent, combat mages are quite rare.

'Well, in one of the worldlines that I had journeyed into, combat mages are pretty common and not only that, but there was also an academy for combat mages though.'

That's why when Eclipse was tested for his magic affinity during the guild's registration process, his power had reached an immeasurable level as he could perform any kind of magic on his arsenal.

It became a special case for him that even the Guildmaster from the main office in the Capital city was the one who initiated his test procedures and the one who re-evaluated his test.

Also, after those procedures had been settled, he noticed something different between this continent and the empire itself.

Unlike in Cranus Continent where Bloodline powers most likely appeared within the household nobilities and harness its potential power since in the history textbooks stated that those Bloodline powers came from the Gods that bestowed upon into their chosen humans during the Dark Ages of War between the Demons and Humans.

However, in Vertum Continent, well more precisely, in the Cliffton Empire, it's completely different.

He noticed that those adventurers, veteran or not, all of them possessed unique abilities on their own, not just in magic but others have like in swordsmanship, alchemy, martial arts and others.

'It feels like I have jumped into a completely different worldline compared to the place where I used to belong when in fact I just happened to cross over to another continent and nothing else.'

The world-hopper snapped from his thoughts when he noticed that the person-in-charge name Frenan lead them into a completely different location compared to those other aristocrats within their surroundings earlier and he frowns for a moment.

"Psst! Look over there! Most of these guests are looking at us with either with contempt, jealousy or wariness but for most part that I have noticed, they looked at you directly with fear."

Arico mumbled at his side and the world-hopper noticed how those other guests looked at them, especially at him.

'I bet most of them had recognize the token that I presented earlier back at the main entrance of the establishment, and I took note about their wariness and fear upon looking at me because it seems like there is some story about this token that Rheina gave it to me.'

Of course, Eclipse wouldn't be that stupid to outright ask these people about the significance of the token he had, lest he wanted to get himself into trouble or something.

Since all of the guests who attended the auction event, including the two of them, were wearing masks to conceal their appearance and only their eyes and hair color could be seen in the public.

Eclipse didn't bother to looked at them as he didn't want to start another commotion that he had done earlier and he only wanted to find their target… or more precisely, their dear client.

'Just where that b*stard is hiding then?'

"Just ignore them. It won't do good for us if we try to antagonize them or something. I don't want to attract some attention for myself while we were here."

Eclipse said and Arico suddenly looked back at the certain b*stard that he called as a companion upon hearing the bullcr*p he pulled into.

'Don't want to attract some attention? Is this kid had some screw loose or something? You just pulled out that f*cking token at the main entrance and for some reason, the expression coming from those aristocrats tells me that they had recognize that token or they knew the significance of that token!'

Arico thought as he remembered how Rheina gave that token to Eclipse and said something about being able to protect them, especially Eclipse if he had pulled out that token and presented it to the people at Cliffton Empire.

He also learned about Rheina Clandestine's origin household and they were not natives within the Cranus Continent since the Clandestines came from another continent, within the Vertum Continent and their household's origin is from the Cliffton Empire.

As for what their standings within this Empire, Arico doesn't know it yet.

'Why does it seem like Rheina Clandestine's origin background is something that could be considered as a main character of the worldline itself?'

He snapped from his thoughts when he suddenly felt a budge coming from his side and it seems like he got bumped lightly into someone's shoulder and Arico was about to apologize when happened to take a glimpse of the person who just bumped into him.

Not only that, but the Slayer Agent also felt something ominous about that person who just bumped into him and didn't look back at him.

However, that ominous feeling felt familiar to him and was about to catch on to that person when Arico felt a sudden pull from the other side, and he looked at the person who just pulled back with him.

Arico was about to say something when Eclipse cut him off.

"Shut your mouth for now. I know what you're trying to tell me as I have felt it as well."
