Rebirth: The Villainous Young Master Doesn't Want to Follow the Script

Chapter 65: On the Hunt (2)

*************

The Slayer Agent expected that Eclipse would resent the Lord God for what happened, but he never expected that he would be this forgiving, or more likely, the young man just accepted his fate that his previous life was nothing but a tragic one for the sake of the script.

'Just thinking about your previous life was nothing but some sort of entertainment is something you couldn't imagine but as for Eclipse who just accepted his fate, I couldn't help but feel pity for him.'

Although he knew that Eclipse didn't need someone's pity for his situation but for Arico who treated the young man as his best friend and a younger brother, he's worried about him.

'However, right now, he is no longer the minor villain Ezekiel Zephyr Chevalier, and from Sir Red's instructions, Eclipse only stayed in this worldline for him to hide in the meantime. We also don't know what would happen to the main storyline since the minor villain role is still vacant.'

Arico pulled out the system archive to check out the information of the world plot of this worldline in order for him to understand and for him to be cautious about not triggering anything that could affect the main storyline.

But since the main storyline would take place at the academy then, the Slayer Agent wasn't that worried about triggering something since he wasn't planning to get inside that academy.

However, when the system alerted him about Eclipse's departure from the capital city and Arico suddenly remembered from the system archive about Eclipse's previous life as Ezekiel Zephyr Chevalier and as he think about the current timeline, he sighed in frustration.

'I almost forgot about Eclipse's supposed role in that academy! But if Eclipse isn't no longer the minor villain, then, why should that brat would still go at the academy?'

« Answering Agent Arico, in this worldline, noble children are mandatory to attend the academy in order for the new generation to gain connections with other noble household's heirs and heiresses and not only that, the academy might be out of the influence from the capital city but for the students who attends the academy, they can create their own influences for their political benefits. »

'Oh, yeah. I almost forgot that most medieval fantasy worldlines should have this kind of settings, especially if it's a magic school setting.'

Now that his system detected that Eclipse is now outside the capital city in order to attend at Lumen Academy since Eclipse's previous life as Ezekiel as he belongs to a noble household.

'Even if that brat doesn't want to be acquainted with that household of his, knowing his personality, he doesn't have a choice but to comply to this Empire's standard law, but I have a feeling that brat would do something else.'

For more than a millennium year that Arico became acquainted with Eclipse and knowing his personality, there is without a doubt that little brat wouldn't go to that academy, even if his household nor the empire could force him to do it.

'Can you detect Eclipse's mark up place within this worldline?'

« Answering Agent Arico, please let me proceed with the request. Analyzing the worldline detection for the Platinum world-hopper Eclipse's location…. 46% »

Arico raised an eyebrow at the percentage of Eclipse's location because it has decreased a lot compared to the last time.

'From 58% to 46%? That's a lot of decreased in there!'

He thought as he thought further while traveling himself from the road that he take, even though he could use his skills to just teleport right away from where Eclipse was, as long as his system could detect him within the system range.

However, 46% is still not enough for Arico to teleport where Eclipse was as the system range within his detection couldn't reach him yet.

'It should be below 20% so that I could teleport near where Eclipse's location was mark up by the system.'

That's why Arico didn't rush to go to the capital city when he left the village that he stayed in for a while.

However, that was not the case anymore.

If Eclipse had left the capital city and attended Lumen Academy where the main storyline of this worldline would start then, Arico wouldn't have much time to catch up to him.

'Now, it seems like I need to rush in to catch up with that brat while maintaining caution along the way.'

With that thought, Arico replied to the system.

'Set up the detection mark up position for the Platinum world-hopper Eclipse. SET!'

« Confirmation approved by the system for Agent Arico! Good luck, Agent! »

With everything set up then, Arico goes on full speed.

'Wait up for me, you little brat!'

« DING! Mark up position for the Platinum world-hopper Eclipse…. 43% »

« …. 42% »

« …. 39% »

« …. 48% »

« …. 36% »

« …. 57% »

« …. 32% »

« …. 25% »

« DING! Agent Arico could now commence the [System Telescope] to lookout for the Platinum world-hopper Eclipse's current position! Good luck! »

'What in the f*cking name—?! Those coordinates are such a pain in the f*cking a**! Just what the heck happened for the coordinates to fluctuate like that?!'

He stopped from his tracks when his system had activated the [Search Telescope], a skill that most of the agents from the Slayers Department could activate when a certain requirement for usage has been met.

The usage for this skill only applies to those agents from the Slayers Department for them to find those world-hoppers who violate against the system laws and this skill is pretty useful for those Slayer Agents.

'This skill is pretty handy at the times like this. I thought I won't be able to activate this skill since this is only for catching purposes, but it seems like the system allowed me to activate this just for once.'

Sometimes, Arico couldn't help but notice something that seemed odd for some reasons that he didn't know.

For some reason, he couldn't quite get the feeling that most of the system back at the Main House System seems to favor Eclipse a lot.

He wasn't being prejudice or something just because he is most acquainted with Eclipse but as he observed whenever Eclipse was around, most systems within the Main House favored him a lot and even thought they were just only data-based system with codes, they seems to recognize Eclipse whenever he went back from his world-hopping journey.

'If I were to describe how the system behaves whenever Eclipse was around, they were more likely to have cling with him as if Eclipse was their owner…'

Arico didn't know that time as why the systems behave that way since those systems are nothing but just a bunch of data-based codes created from the Lord God to assist world-hoppers and agents to their respective tasks.

However, the moment Eclipse joined the Main House as a world-hopper, for some unknown reason, the systems shows something that most of the senior residents of the Main House wouldn't dare to think about it.

The systems, especially, the Higher Councils, favored Eclipse a lot, and not only that, when he was still a novice world-hopper who only completed more than 50 tasks in just 4 worldlines, he managed to become one of the successor candidates and he is chosen by the Lord God himself.

One of the reasons why Eclipse was being targeted by other world-hoppers was because of how those beings attached themselves to Eclipse even though he was a novice world-hopper at that time.

Even Arico's Leader and superior, who seems like an overprotective mother hen when it comes to Eclipse and that's one of the reasons why Arico wants to be acquainted with Eclipse to learned and to get to know the young man itself.

Now as for him, Arico seems to understand why because he also felt it somewhere.

« DING! Platinum world-hopper Eclipse's location using the Search Telescope has been found! Please proceed with the mark that's appeared within the system interface! Good luck, Agent Arico! »

He snapped from those thoughts when the system alerted him that Eclipse's location had been finally found and he looked up at his system interface to check his location and when he saw the red mark up that appeared, he frowned when he noticed that….

The red mark in the system interface seems moving…. towards his direction?!

'What in the—?!'

He immediately went over to the other side of the road and hid his presence while looking at his system interface to monitor Eclipse's mark up location since it's moving in the direction of the road where he took in as well.

The markup location of Eclipse within his system interface finally shows up and from his system…. It's already 10%...

'It means…. He's already here!'

...….

.......

......….

"Are you just going to stand there and won't say anything to me?"

Eclipse asked the man for the second or maybe, for the third time already since the only thing he did the moment he showed up was nothing but just plainly stared back at him.

'Just why was the notorious agent from the Slayers Department doing in here anyway?'
