Those pauses while speaking seemed to point towards the awareness of the System's consciousness, meaning it felt that the System was not a machine but a living thing, knowing about its wrongdoings.

'Is it related to my race?' He inquired, knowing about the three asterisks after his human race inside the status window, directly pointing towards the genes he got from the paternal side.

[ Host, your race and anything present on this planet is not strong enough to resist me. ]

It seemed arrogant to give such an open statement when the System needed an upgrade and consumed kill points for every action Ryuk accessed.

But now, thinking from the perspective where it had even a single truth.

'Why consume kill points, Leveling points when you are this strong?' Ryuk's doubt rose from the fact that the System seemed to have its own consciousness, and while claiming it was this strong, why did he need to have credits for each action.

[ Those points were superfluous. ]

'Haha, So, I got used this way,' Ryuk laughed with his folded hands, slowly moving towards a rock and seated on it, feeling how much things were hidden from him until now.

Suddenly his eyes turned cold, the anger visible, the smile slowly fading away replaced by an expressionless face, and firmly he stated, 'Tell me everything now System, or it will be your end.'

Yes, it may sound like him acting almighty at this time, but his mind was calm and understood that if until now whatever System informed him is true, then he has the ability to repel any bodily interference too, and following that, he could throw out this thing out of his body.

Ryuk still did not know the reason, but one thing was true, if he could, he would throw this thing out of his body.

The System started to tell everything without hiding anything from Ryuk since it needed him, and without his consent, the intentions the System was here for would become wasted.

Once upon a time, there was a world filled with several mysterious creatures and powerhouses traversing the sheer strength and norms set by any normal human mind; it was a completely advanced civilization.

The world was called the Hidden Realm.

Hierarchy was set; the more strength one held, the higher the position they had, a typical approach.

And, that same world filled with so many opportunities was the next mission ground of the 『Nexus System』

A man not belonging to that world transmigrated into the Hidden Realm, and with that, the System found its partner.

Systems were existences that needed to climb the hierarchy and become the strongest among existing ones.

Just like any creature had its hierarchy set, Systems had a whole separate world filled with them, from where the exchange for the works was made, more like a bartered system.

Meaning, a system with the function of devouring someone's luck could access another function of another system at the cost of lending its own ability—a simple method of mutual benefit.

But, it was one of the facilities, since there was a chance that a function could be unavailable at a particular time, that's why there existed a 〘Nexus Grid〙—A huge Mainframe designed to provide better access to the abilities.

Making Nexus a medium which facilitates the transfer of abilities much smoother.

And finally, a System came into existence called the 『Nexus System』, holding the potential to manipulate the way of things happened inside that world, becoming the center of attention for each present system.

And, the moment the 『Nexus System』got its chance to move in the hierarchy by supporting a Host, things turned into a battle.

Inside the Hidden Realm, a transmigrated human got chosen by the 『Nexus System』; slowly, that human started to become stronger with each passing time but never once did the this system break its rules.

The way in which the transactions of ability happened were based on tasks assigned by it; that same transmigrated normal human once, now became a sign of fear, ascending to the strength what one referred to as Gods.

The ruthlessness and coldness that shrouded the sense of that human caused him to fall on the dark side where his personality became that of an Evil God—a result from strength gained by the help of the System.

The 『Nexus System』 didn't care what use its host made; its only job was to serve well and get a final assessment result done from the 〘Nexus Grid〙 based on its potential.

Unaware that the birth of a system possessing the most crucial element of the System world had already made it a target of all existing Existences, including the Main Grid itself.

Systems don't feel emotions, working on a predetermined algorithm where the evolution about how strong a system is based on the number of transactions done, using any currency like Emotions, Fate, Destiny, and Luck etc.

These were the normal things which were used inside the Nexus Grid to get abilities, and every system used to provide tasks just to earn these things and climb in the hierarchy.

Meaning, not all systems were genuine, only caring about their own interest was feasible since each had consciousness of their own, at the end even creating situations intentionally by making their Hosts fall into inevitable situation by manipulating things, only to earn fate, luck, and destiny.

And Even going far as to helping a Host reach the peak and then extracting all the fate, luck, he has even at the result of killing him just to climb in hierarchy.

But, in the Hidden Realm where the reigning supreme being possessing the 『Nexus System』 doesn't seem to get betrayed or anything, only his strength kept increasing, causing havoc to rise in the whole System's Dimension.

The strength that Being had reached had already surpassed any Host other system had. For the first task of a New System, the 『Nexus System』 had helped its Host reach a height which was just a dream for any others.

In the end, other Systems decided to intervene by opening dimensional gate of other world into hidden Realm and from there, choosing someone, who was purest of her kind.

Causing a love story to take birth.

The darkness shrouding the whole Hidden Realm witnessed a small Firefly traversing through dark space, lighting the small space yet the warmth caused the Being to finally get subdued and fall in love.

A story of two people falling in love, belonging to completely different worlds possessing opposite elements, darkness and light, yet the small warmth possessed by that firefly melted away the cold heart of the Being.

Everything was good.

With the help of the System, the Being reigned supreme in any world, had a partner who cared for him, but...

A betrayal caused the firefly to finally lose her breaths in the hands of that being whose cries became the crimson fluid drenching the whole world in its color.

The rampaging Being destroyed its own world. No one stood in its way, and the strength it possessed was unstoppable until finally the

One who helped him reach such height intervened— 『Nexus System』

It was a perfect plan set by the Grid to destroy the future threat that particular system held.

Normally, when a System provides some tasks and earns points in the form of Emotions, Luck, Fate, etc., then those points get stored within the Host, but not every system keeps them stored inside them and withdraws them.

Of course, it had enormous consequences on the Host.

Like, Emotions slowly leave a host, finally making him emotionless, Fate gets sucked away destroying any future possibilities to gain more strength, Luck depletion only causes the rise of many dangerous situations—unknown by hosts.

This is also the way how Many Systems worked.

By sucking away luck of a Host, creating making his fall in different situations and again earning from them whenever they tried to exchange for any aid.

A popular approach of inside the system's Dimension, not caring about the Host.

But, the 『Nexus System』 had kept everything stored inside the Host.

Meaning, the death of the host would cause it to lose every point, and once a System does not earn even a single point in its first assessment, then they will be thrown into a downgraded world.

Knowing this, the Nexus System tried to stop its Host, but in rage, it was called with a word which was common among Humans, referring to a System.

At the end, the Supreme Being finally stood at the end of a world, his mind slowly gained clarity of what he had just done, destroying the world where he had dreamt to have a happy life with the woman he loved.

In grief, he asked the way to restore the whole world again to its previous condition to the same System, whom he had called Parasite every time it tried to intervene.

Unexpectedly, the Nexus System suggested a thing which it would have never done, but knowing the end that awaited both of them, Since, When the Host Dies, the System will have to wait till a new suitable one is found— Living Unconscious until a host is detected.

[ Host, you can exchange everything you have to restore this world. ]

It was an enormous transaction, something which was going to change the fate of both of them. The System would reach the peak of hierarchy with just one transaction but would lose its Host.

And, the moment the transaction initiated, the System was betrayed.

The〘Nexus Grid〙 took away all the points and interchanged them by transferring its record to other seven systems who had helped it by opening Dimensional Gates.

The end result was the 『Nexus System』directly falling from the hierarchy and thrown into a low-level world.

With this, an entity which could have overthrown the Grid itself got deleted from existence.

Since, no Host in a lower world can reach the heights where the Grid would feel threatened.

But.

In its way, realizing everything how it was betrayed even after following all rules and supporting its host until the end, the System finally used its Power which was unused until now.

It only used transaction through tasks until now, but today, it breached the defenses of the grid and found the most suitable host in the whole Universe, rejecting infinite numbers of Hosts to reach one.

One who was registered for that Host was called the Supreme Villain System— Popular for taking away emotions of its Host.

Ryuk, seated while hearing everything, felt confused. The information was just too much to digest in a single flow.

But with that information, Ryuk came to a realization that this world had several secrets, and also, he didn't doubt the System since there were some points which were logical.

But not enough for him to just blindly trust something unknown.

'System, what is the thing stopping you from completely accessing my body?' Ryuk felt confused, since he understood that Transmigration was a normal thing for the System, then it cannot be some cheat perk he got when reincarnated.

'Then, if you can easily access every function of the Grid, then why do you want me to kill people or hurt them?' Ryuk could understand that it could be related to the transaction thing he was informed some moments ago, but he was not sure.

A smile formed on Ryuk's face, feeling that not only did the System use him, but it was far ahead of his expectations, using him all along.

Today's journey seemed much more profitable for him than he had anticipated, knowing about the origin of the System and even realizing about the presence of other systems in this world. 'By the way, are those systems the same ones?'

'And their Hosts?' Ryuk interrupted, a small smile visible on his face, sitting in that place, his eyes turned towards the Artifact placed in the middle.

Slowly standing from his place, he moved towards the thing in the middle, not caring about the answer from the System since he already knew he was weak.

A word he abhorred the most.

In that serene hall, the sound of footsteps reverberated as Ryuk made his way towards the center, his amber eyes reflecting an enormous illuminated aura falling from the ceiling onto this Artifact, surrounding it like the thickness of a circular platform.

'System, let's make a deal. You want kills, I will give them to you.' He interrupted after reaching the platform, slowly lifting his legs to enter it while leaving a message.
