Chapter 67: First World: Doting Husband
Chapter 67: First World: Doting Husband
A pampered Wen Qinxi had had the most fun during this period, Qie Ranzhe was like a genie granting his every wish without him even asking. Sometimes he felt so bad and would try to refuse but Qie Ranzhe was dead set on doing things for him. He soon got used to being doted upon brushing it off as the teenager showing gratitude for everything he did for him. What Wen Qinxi didn't realise was that he was gradually forming a cavernous dependence on Qie Ranzhe both physically and emotionally that wouldn't be easy to rid off in the future.
Being treated this way, Wen Qinxi now understood why Li Menxie and other women in the office were willing to betray each just to grasp Qie Ranzhe's attention. He took the time to acknowledge the reason why Li Menxie didn't hesitate throwing him under the bus when he was caught by Qie Ranzhe under her desk, the woman had to do whatever it takes to sink her claws in this seemingly aloof CEO with a big heart. It wasn't just his looks that drove them insane. These women seemed to know a secret that most guys are oblivious to. Qie Ranzhe might look cold and unapproachable from the outside but he treated the ones close to him exceptionally well.
He was exceptionally gifted and well-deserving of the title doting husband. This version of Qie Ranzhe was so heartwarming and sweet capable of melting any woman's heart but Wen Qinxi couldn't help but wonder why Zhao Huangzhi in the real world dumped such an awesome man. She had an all-access pass to all this, an access pass plenty of girls could only dream of but she chose to ruthlessly throw it out.
Wen Qinxi shook his head in dissatisfaction while slouching like a salted fish in a chair waiting for Qie Ranzhe to come out. In a few days, Qie Ranzhe would be having his entrance exam which would determine whether he will be accepted into the guild or not. Like a father sending his kid to first grade, he couldn't let Qie Ranzhe go without buying him new sets of clothes. After days of coaxing, Qie Ranzhe finally agreed thinking that Lin Jingxie would buy one or two garments but boy was he wrong.
A captivating and devastatingly handsome young man finally emerged from the backroom of the tailor shop hypnotising the entire shop. Faced with such a prepossessing deity, the shop keeper's daughter shrieked with a face as red as a tomato and beaming eyes that could be mistaken for a white water lily blooming at the break of dawn. Both the shop keeper and Wen Qinxi simultaneously looked in her direction dumbstruck by her odd behaviour.
Being looked at like that, she timidly covered her mouth and slowly squatted behind the counter restraining her excitement. In all this, Qie Ranzhe had his eyes fixed on Lin Jingxie like a puppy impatiently waiting for his master to compliment him. If he had a tail it would have been wagging all over the place with excitement. He was wearing a high-quality vantablack robe with a string embroidery of a golden phoenix in the front and a black and gold leather belt bringing the look together. On his wrist, he wore a dazzling yet domineering charcoal black leather bracers embroidered with gold flames. Qie Ranzhe could be described as a menacing yet splendorous awe-inspiring masterpiece just like the unattainable lightening.
Wen Qinxi was impressed, the tailor paid attention to his words creating a venomous yet charming outfit well-matched with Qie Ranzhe's personality. He stood up and ambled around Qie Ranzhe with his eyes scrutinizing the tailor's handiwork. Lin Jingxie's actions made Qie Ranzhe nervous unable to discern how his crush felt about the way he looked as the guy hadn't uttered a single word.
Unaware of how nerve-wracked Qie Ranzhe was, Wen Qinxi silently continued scrutinising him till he stopped right in front of Qie Ranzhe with his eyes fixed on the out of place hairpin holding Qie Ranzhe's hair up. The shop keeper sensed his concern and wordlessly handed him a vantablack hair tie with faint gold string embroidery. Qie Ranzhe was too absorbed in Lin Jingxie's charming visage that he didn't realise when Lin Jingxie suddenly stood on his tippy toes removing the only thing that had been holding his silky strands together.
Like a graceful waterfall, Qie Ranzhe's hair flowed down covering his entire face but that was the least of his concerns. Lin Jingxie was dangerously leaning close to him with his slender sweet-smelling neck in Qie Ranzhe's full view calling for him to have a taste. Qie Ranzhe had to tightly clench his sweaty palms with his nails digging deep into his skin to keep himself from grabbing Lin Jingxie's waist drawing his neck closer to take a nibble. With his body temperature skyrocketing Qie Ranzhe froze in place letting the man do whatever he pleased.
Wen Qinxi smiled at the exceptionally obedient CEO and carefully fiddled with his hair tying it into a youthful half ponytail. The youth looked especially dashing leaving behind his boyish look turning into a noble prince. Wen Qinxi slid his hands down against either side of Qie Ranzhe's arms as he settled his heels back on the ground saying, "Nice."
Qie Ranzhe felt his cheeks burn up after being complimented by Lin Jingxie and chose to look away otherwise he might sell himself out. He didn't really care about trivial matters like clothes but if it made Lin Jingxie happy, he would gladly assume the role of a dress-up barbie. His little bubble soon burst when he heard Lin Jingxie barking out an order, "pack up the rest and take it to the carriage outside, he doesn't need to try them all."
A wide-eyed Qie Ranzhe stood behind Lin Jingxie placing his hand on his shoulder before whispering something. Because Wen Qinxi couldn't hear what he was saying, he leaned backwards with his eyes fixed on the shop employees packing up a wooden chest with clothes. "This isn't necessary l can always wear my other clothes and reserve this one for special occasions," whispered Qie Ranzhe with his lips almost touching Wen Qinxi's earlobe.
Wen Qinxi furrowed his brows once that gentle warmth tickled his sensitive ear instantly reminding him of that embarrassing night. In a slick manner, he removed Qie Ranzhe's hand and walked forward saying, "No, l had Machu get rid of your other clothes. You aren't joining the guild wearing old clothes," before following behind the man painstakingly carrying the chest out of the shop. When noticed that Qie Ranzhe wasn't following behind him, Wen Qinxi turned around asking, "Aren't you coming?" with an inquisitive look.
"No, you can go ahead. l have something l need to do," he said with an unreadable expression. Wen Qinxi didn't question him any further and shrugged his shoulders before leaving the shop heading for the shelter.
