Chapter 270 - Lost Heaven
[Bonus chapter]
*zooom* *zappp*
Klautz shot through the stage as he charged at Colt with all of his speed. Colt could only shoot his eyes at the shamelessness that didn't even allow his opponent to pick up his weapon and chose to assault him in his armless state.
Chivalry had been as usual was thrown out of the window.
"Huuk!"
A punch landed straight in the gut. Klautz tilted his head to the side to avoid getting himself dirty with the blood that was spilled from his opponent's mouth.
Colt gasped for breath as the blood that oozed out of his mouth dirtied the floors instead.
"You…" Colt spoke with glaring eyes refusing to blink.
Colt felt his world collapsing around him as it spun around him.
He was arrogant indeed. But unlike the others of his age, he had his hard work to back off his arrogance. But after this point what was the use of all of that?
The voices of mockery that he yet hadn't even received began to resound in his ears. It was like a spell of clairvoyance was cast on him allowing him to see the future.
But compared to Klautz it was all a fluke.
Colt's body soon fell slack as his gut was crushed under Klautz's superior strength. Klautz could already fight opponents who were stronger than him by 5 or so points, thanks to his lethal skills. As such when fighting someone lower than him only such an outcome was to be expected.
The people of hell usually opted for better weapons to make up for such differences. But Klautz had always been different. After all, how could a ninja hope to have such fancy tools for himself when he himself was a tool for others?
'He fell unconscious.'
Colt hadn't even lasted a few minutes after Klautz started fighting seriously. But of course the reason for that quick victory was also thanks to Klautz's in detail studies that he had conducted on Colt's fighting style helping him to land a major injury that toppled the tables to his side.
But alas, in a real life battle one hardly gets the chance to make such studies. The battle being just an exchange of pointers had acted in Klautz's favor.
*Thud*
Colt's body fell to the ground motionless as the light in his pupils became dim. He was knocked unconscious.
'This is what happens when you can't change your fighting tactics to your needs. In a world like hell, you must be flexible for all types of dangers.'
Klautz smiled.
THere were some things that no one could compete with him and this was one of them. If not for the sharp eyes of Akihiko it was hard for any one to make out his fighting style and use it to his disadvantage. Klautz was flexible and quick to change his styles and tactics.
"Take him away!" Gozoto ordered.
A defeated hell born shouldn't be put up for show for too long in front of the earthlings. It was bad for his business.
Soon from behind the stage multiple people came forward with a stretcher. They took Colt's body with him on the stretcher and left. Klautz eyes could only follow them as they left.
Leaves me wondering, What kind of friction did Akihiko had with some one like him?'
Klautz held onto his chin. After all, the present Colt could be a threat only to the newbies. He was weak and a frog in the well that only thought he was strong just before he hadn't seen the sky beyond the well.
There weren't many people, Colt Ackerman could hope to harm not to mention that towering Akihiko. Not only Colt but none of the second gen had reached the first level cap in the first place. They were simply too young to be threats.
One must note that people like Akihiko do not offend young masters like Colt just because of their future potential and not their current strength. With the resources that were provided to second gen like Colt, they indeed had an opportunity for fast growth.
'Not to mention that Colt's future is bleak. Akihiko should have a hunch to that at least. He doesn't seem like a fool. What kind of threat could Akihiko have seen in him?'
'Must be something to do with the guild that's behind him than his very self.'
Klautz was lost in thought. He hadn't paid much heed as Gozoto walked closer to him standing on the same stage as him.
"Greetings for your victory. You must be feeling elated ain't you?" Gozoto smirked as he scanned Klautz's cold demeanour intently.
Was it confidence that considers it a small victory? Or was it a reluctance to show his true feelings? Akihiko could only wonder why Klautz didn't seem elated at all. He seemed annoyed instead.
But even so, Gozoto didn't find such behavior to be suspicious. After all, the tutorial zone was just that kind of place. Some come out overconfident of their strengths after fighting hordes of monsters while others come out reluctant to share their weaknesses. It was a response brought about by the changes in their surroundings.
'But it is surely rare.'
Gozoto knew that most of the newbies were prone to be elated with such small victories. The cheering crowd was already a proof to how much they ignored the big picture. They had yet not seen the world of hell after all and were still living in a blissful dream.
Klautz nodded with a business like smile.
"Thanks," he replied nonchalantly. There was no joy in his face.
Compared to the heaven that he had been strippen of in his closed room, this victory didn't have any value to him. Klautz hadn't realized that a much harder barrier yet again stood between him and his heaven.
