Chapter 26: Incredulous
Chapter 26: Incredulous
The massacre lasted for a full minute before Sakim finally ran out of mana. Only then did he realized how careless his move really was. How could he make such a low-level mistake?!
If those monsters got angered and rushed at him, how could he still protect himself without the mana to use a skill?! Oh right! He still had the passive skill: Greed under his sleeve. It didn't need any mana and could just steal their pitiful HP with a single touch. But even so, if those rats gathered at him simultaneously, would he still have the leisure to steal their HP to their death?!
That said, Sakim regretted the fact that he used up all his mana to enjoy himself.
Sakim clicked his tongue in disappointment. It appeared that his self-awareness was getting duller and duller as he enjoyed the body of youth.
Nonetheless, it was really fun. Sakim could only admit it. He was just thankful that he didn't obtain the aggro of those rats to avenge themselves. And instead of aggroing them, it appeared that Sakim had caused horror to them instead. The cries of the rats continued to echo as some of the cries were slowly dying out. There were even some balls of blood that flew towards him from time to time before disappearing in his front. It was obvious that those things were the blood of the ones he killed.
But now that Sakim thought about it, his skill: Go Die could steal the target's HP. And since these balls of blood came from his target, he'd guessed that they were his stolen HP. So to confirm, Sakim opened up his Stolen Inventory and sure enough, the item [Cave Rat HP] had its number indicator shot up. There were 23 of it now, and it was even increasing as the balls of blood from the hidden dungeon were coming at Sakim.
Sakim smiled a bit before he shifted his gaze towards the hidden dungeon in front of him.
Sixty-seven. Sakim used the skill Go Die sixty-seven times before he ran out of mana. He even felt a bit tired now as if raising his arm was too much of a burden. His MP bar wasn't recovering as well, how could he still use a skill now?!
Soon, the cries of agonies died out and the flung of the balls of blood had stopped. Sakim looked at the number indicator of the [Cave Rat HP] and found out that within the 67 shots he did, he had killed 46 rats. There were 48 of this item now. But well, it was already a big number considering that he only fired aimlessly at the hidden dungeon entrance. With that being said as well, Sakim realized that there were really a lot of Cave Rats hiding inside the hidden dungeon considering that he killed many rats just by firing aimlessly. He was just thankful that he didn't stupidly enter the hidden dungeon.
This outcome really satisfied him.
At that moment, however, Sakim noticed that the System wasn't informing him that he had killed plenty of Cave Rats. It appeared that the System would only inform him from the first time he killed a certain type of monster.
Besides that, even after the fact that he had killed many rats, he was still yet to level up. Just how many more rats did he need to kill just to increase a level?!
Sakim sighed. It appeared that leveling up really was tiring.
After heaving a long sigh, he dismissed the System and focused his attention towards the hidden dungeon instead. Although the cries of agonies had died out, it was only limited to it. The continuous screeches kept echoing from all around the place with a hint of horror blended in their voices.
It was just a pity that Sakim wasn't able to see what was inside the dark passageway. There might even an item that was dropped by the many rats he had killed. If that was the case, then it was even more of a pity if he wouldn't be able to get that dropped item.
Sakim couldn't help but frown. This darkness was too annoying. If he could only steal...
Wait!
Amidst his frustration, Sakim suddenly thought of something. He wasn't sure if it would work but there was no pain in trying.
With a brilliant idea in mind, Sakim walked, even more, closer to the entrance of the hidden dungeon. He then raised his hand towards the dungeon entrance and it was as if he had touched the darkness itself.
If this darkness was obstructing his view, then he should just steal this damned darkness! It had to be known that even the Heaven's Wrath itself was helpless against him.
On the other hand, it was noticeable that silence engulfed the hidden dungeon seeing Sakim's action. The monsters inside couldn't help but feel uneasy. This guy was up to something again? What should they do now? Run away? Where? It had to be known that there was no other exit in this hidden dungeon other than the entrance as well. If they wanted to run away, then they should use the entrance to go out. But that guy was there! Wouldn't it mean that they would only hasten their death if they ran towards the entrance? And besides, even if they really wanted to escape through the entrance, they just couldn't. It wasn't because they didn't want to, but for some reason, they really just couldn't.
So then, with a serious face, and with a doubt of whether it would work or not, Sakim focused his intention to just steal the darkness inside the hidden dungeon as he couldn't help but mutter, "Steal!"
Swoosh!
To everyone's shock, with eyes widened before blinking multiple times, the darkness inside the hidden dungeon really disappeared without a trace. As if it was broad daylight inside.
What the f*ck!
Just what the f*ck?!
Just what?!
If those rats inside the passageway, no, the huge chamber could just speak, then they were surely cursing the world now on what had just happened. Just what in the world was this?! Just what happened?
Where did the darkness go?
And where the heck did this light came from?
The Cave Rats burst into an uproar with deafening screeches echoing nonstop. What kind of monster was this guy?! How could he completely erase the darkness away?! Couldn't he just catch the f*cking Ghost Fires in the area to use it as his flashlight so that he could enter their territory peacefully?! Just what was going on in this guy's mind? Now that the entire place was all bright, how could they still take advantage of the darkness to put up some fight against this guy?!
Confusion, disbelief, incredulity, and other similar adjectives in the world flooded the heart of each and every rat inside the hidden dungeon before fear, horror, frustration, blame, etc. flooded next. It was as if the end of time had just befallen them.
On the other hand, Sakim was just as incredulous as those rats. Stealing the darkness that way? That was unprecedented! Even in his many novels and mangas he had ever read before, he'd never seen or heard such a thing to happen.
He knew that he was in a fantastical world, and he appeared as if the main character of this world.
But couldn't be the trope not too forced?!
With things going so well for him, how could his journey become any more exciting?
But well, that was good news for him though. Witnessing such occurrence made him realize that the strength of this passive skill: Greed of his had almost no extent.
What other things should he steal next?
What unbelievable but crazy occurrence would transpire next?
What more mysteries lie behind his power?
Would things still go well for him in the future? Or even if not, could he overcome all the downs and turn them into ups?
With a narrowed eyes that had as if already seen the vicissitudes of life, and with his hands on his back, Sakim thought of every possibility, the ups, and downs, that he might encounter in the future.
But no matter what odds obstructed his way, with his incredible ability, Sakim was determined that nothing would be able to stop him. Even if it was the Heavens themselves.
