          Spell name:- Soul Search (Advanced)

          Effect:- With the help of this spell, the user can learn the secrets of others by searching their souls.

          Note:- If the target is not conscious when the user uses this spell, it might damage their soul.

        Chanting time:- 2 minutes.

        Cost:- 1500 units of magic power.

'Soul search?'

Lucas was surprised with his second attack spell because, with this spell, he could find out the deepest secrets of his enemies.

Also, it would be helpful for him in searching for the background of anyone who wants to join the Hellmore family in the future.

Other than the effect, the chanting time was the standard time; however, the cost was 50 percent higher than his first advanced spell.

'Looks like the cost for the advanced spells doesn't follow the standard cost.'

Compared to the 'Infernal bomb' the 'Soul search' advanced spell was much more complete. So, Lucas understood the cost would vary among the same grade spells.

'By the system, how should I break through my mage rank?'

Soon, Lucas asked the system about how to upgrade his mage rank.

A knight has to increase his mastery over the weapon he chooses to train from the beginning to increase his strength.

An assassin has to assassinate a specific number of beings in order to reach the next tier or next rank.

So, just like that, Lucas wanted to know about the requirements for his mage profession, so that he could focus on it when he got the time.

'Ding,

          A mage needs to upgrade at least one of his basic spells to an intermediate spell. So, by the time a mage becomes a tier 5 lesser mage, he would have at least 8 intermediate spells.

'Oh. And how do I do it? I know how to upgrade its level; however, I don't know how to upgrade its grade.'

Lucas didn't hesitate to ask all the questions he had in his head because the system existed to help him become powerful.

'Ding,

        Generally, each spell is divided into five levels starting from level 1 to level 5. 

'Ding,

        Beyond that level, the spell will be upgraded to the next grade on its own.

'Excellent. Looks like I can easily upgrade my mage rank even if I don't go out of the manor; however, when I use the spells on the living beings, I get more experience into that spell. So, it is best to go wild in the wilderness.'

Since upgrading the grade a spell was just like increasing the level, Lucas was quite confident in increasing mage rank.

What's more, he had a magic sea with double the size when compared to the regular tier 1 lesser mages. So, of course, he was confident and felt at ease.

'Let's see how many spells I have and what levels they are at.'

Since all he needed to do was focus on the basic spell that had the highest level to reach the next tier in the shortest possible time.

Without that thought in his mind, Lucas opened his user interface and focused only on the spells sections.

'Ding,

          Spells.

          Basic spells:- Thunder bullet, (level 2), Earth Spike (level 1), Fiery rage (level 2), Basic heal (level 2), Protection (level 1) and Telepathy (Not upgradeable). Fireball (level 2)

          Intermediate spells:- Blazing wave (level 1), Invisibility (level 1) and Magical vines (level 1)

          Advanced spells:- Infernal bomb (level 1), Soul search (level 1).

'Sigh...I haven't focused on upgrading the spells after upgrading three basic spells to level 2'

Looking at the levels of the spells, Lucas sighed as he shook his head.

'That's the problem of having multiple professions. Since I decided to walk in the paths of multiple professions, I should not sigh; instead, I have to focus.'

Lucas clenched his fists and silently muttered to himself because each profession had its advantage.

Moreover, Lucas was getting double benefits for each profession. So, the more professions he had, the more powerful he would become in the future.

'Okay now, back to the main business.'

Lucas stopped thinking about the future and focused on the basic spells.

'Since the thunder bullet is the most powerful and useful basic spell, I will focus on it first.'

He didn't have to think much to choose which basic spell he had to choose because he already decided to upgrade 'Thunder bullet' from the beginning as it deals good damage despite being a basic spell.

'My current magic sea's capacity is 2000 units which are 10 times more than before. Compared to others, I will be having an easy time upgrading the spell to intermediate grade. Not to mention, I have a basic magic wand along with the 'Eternal magic recovery technique'.'

Lucas revealed a smile on his face as he continued, 'Also, with the increase in tiers in the lesser mage rank, it will only become much easier to upgrade other basic spells to intermediate as the capacity of my magic sea will be increased at each tier.'

'What's more, Beck even mentioned that the more spells I learn, the more my magic sea's capacity will be increased. So, I need to keep an eye on the spell scrolls.'

Lucas added a small note in his head and started doing his regular exercise before going to bed.

In Beck's room.

'Ding,

          The hostess received the following rewards from the earlier mission.

'Ding,

          1) Beast evolution crystal 

          2) Beast suppression talisman

          3) Beast tamer talent crystal (Sovereign grade)

          Note:- It can only be used by the hostess.

'What? System, you gave a Sovereign grade talent crystal just like that?'

Beck was shocked to the core when she saw the final reward and asked the system.

'Ding,

          Didn't I promise the hostess that as long as I was impressed by you, I will issue the talent crystal directly?

'Does that mean, I impressed you?'

Beck was really surprised when she heard the system's words; however, she didn't wait for the reply and directly summoned the talent crystal from her inventory and crushed it without any hesitation.
